  1. And look at what Russian tactics are compared to Ukrainian tactics. The Russians are now using human waves of lightly trained soldiers in their offensive attacks. Do you think that just maybe, the kill ratio might be a relevant factor in those calculations?
  2. If it was any one group of people based on their age or gender, or race or any combination thereof who were running the world it would sound pretty unjust and rightly so. So it sounds pretty bad to say that old men are running the world.
  3. This is laughable. You have no answer for the fact that Russia says it will treat volunteers in Ukraine as mercenaries and subject them to criminal prosecution. And another posted noted that in Russia mercenary armed forces are supposed to be illegal.
  4. Not true. He just wants to turn the windfall profits back to the State. Not only that, but the percentage of income that he gets to keep is not for him to say. It's the Treasury that decides this. The 25% was, in fact, a temporary rise from 15% to finance work on Buckingham palace. In fact as the article further notes: "Sir Michael Stevens, the Keeper of the Privy Purse, has written to the prime minister and chancellor to propose an "appropriate reduction". But anti-monarchy campaigners, Republic, have rejected the move as "cynical PR to pre-empt a government decision to reduce the percentage". The group's chief executive Graham Smith said the King's statement "reflected an arrangement he had no power to change". https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-64319323
  5. I think you may have to call in Gandalf to make him disappear.
  6. I followed the link. Google highlighted this: Here is the crucial portion without highlights: The Duchy of Cornwall is a private estate The Duchy of Cornwall is a private estate established by Edward III in 1337 to provide independence to his son and heir, Prince Edward. A charter ruled that each future Duke of Cornwall would be the eldest surviving son of the Monarch and heir to the throne. The current Duke is HRH The Prince of Wales. Here is the crucial portion without highlights: "The Duchy of Cornwall is a private estate..." Do you understand the distinction made between the Duchy of Cornwall and the Duke of Cornwall?
  7. Really? https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/prince-william-not-cornwall-difference-7855379 Good luck in finding a source that supports your contention.

  9. Let's see if you mastered that magic trick and made a poster disappear.
  10. You got a nuclear power crystal ball? Maybe you should trade that for some low-tech glasses to see what's actually replacing fossil fuels Renewables Take Lion’s Share of Global Power Additions in 2021 New data released by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) shows that renewable energy continued to grow and gain momentum despite global uncertainties. By the end of 2021, global renewable generation capacity amounted to 3 064 Gigawatt (GW), increasing the stock of renewable power by 9.1 per cent. Although hydropower accounted for the largest share of the global total renewable generation capacity with 1 230 GW, IRENA’s Renewable Capacity Statistics 2022 shows that solar and wind continued to dominate new generating capacity. Together, both technologies contributed 88 per cent to the share of all new renewable capacity in 2021. https://www.irena.org/News/pressreleases/2022/Apr/Renewables-Take-Lions-Share-of-Global-Power-Additions-in-2021 Renewable power’s growth is being turbocharged as countries seek to strengthen energy security The global energy crisis has triggered unprecedented momentum behind renewables, with the world set to add as much renewable power in the next 5 years as it did in the past 20 The global energy crisis is driving a sharp acceleration in installations of renewable power, with total capacity growth worldwide set to almost double in the next five years, overtaking coal as the largest source of electricity generation along the way and helping keep alive the possibility of limiting global warming to 1.5 °C, the IEA says in a new report. Energy security concerns caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine have motivated countries to increasingly turn to renewables such as solar and wind to reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels, whose prices have spiked dramatically https://www.iea.org/news/renewable-power-s-growth-is-being-turbocharged-as-countries-seek-to-strengthen-energy-security newablesake Lion’s Share of Glo
  11. He's the only dentist there who does the implants. I think his surname is thongnan. But I wouldn't bet on it.
  12. As is all too often the case with the extreme right, they take the conduct of one person they disagree with and generalize it to all of them. There's nothing in the shape of your responses that can't be predicted by Pavlov's law.
  13. You don't get to put the ball in someone else's court when it's you raised the issue. This is just as foolish as if you had asked for proof to show that George Will or Paul Krugman or Marc Thiessman or any other columnists actually write their own stuff. You raised the issue, it's incumbent on you to provide a link to the proof: "Any alleged factual claims must be supported by a valid link to an approved credible source."
  14. Another truly ridiculous comment. Tell me, can you prove that newspaper columnists write their own columns? That novelists write their own books? That any author wrote the words that are printed under their name? Clearly, it's incumbent upon the person who makes the accusations of non-authorship to provide evidence to the contrary. If you have a link to a respectable source to back up your contention, share it with us. If you can't do that, then it's clear you've got nothing.
  15. It depends on who you're doing diplomacy with. Obviously, no hope of it going well with a brutal thug like Putin until the punishment is more than Russian forces can bear. But with rational leaders there's always legitimate hope.
  16. But it does offer me the opportunity to do a magic trick of sort. When I ask them to provide evidence in accordance with this from the World News forum landing page: "Any alleged factual claims must be supported by a valid link to an approved credible source." they disappear.
  17. It's more than that. Exxon, the Koch brothers and other give financial support to denialist sponsoring organizations like the Heartland Institute that align with their economic interests. Exxon scientists actually did research in the 1970's the predicted greenhouse gases would case global warming. Ultimately Exxon suppressed that research.

  19. Ya think this night have something to do with that? 2021 ocean temperatures were warmest on record Ocean temperatures have been rising steadily over time, with 2021 recording the highest ocean temperature on record. Scientists say that ocean temperature is a better way to measure global warming, as natural weather cycles don't impact the ocean in the same way as the air. Action needs to be taken now; the consistent increase in heat will cause more extreme weather events such as storms, tornados and tidal flooding. https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2022/01/2021-ocean-temperatures-were-warmest-on-record-climate-change/ Loss of marine biodiversity Rising temperatures increase the risk of irreversible loss of marine and coastal ecosystems. Today, widespread changes have been observed, including damage to coral reefs and mangroves that support ocean life, and migration of species to higher latitudes and altitudes where the water could be cooler. Latest estimates from the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization warn that more than half of the world’s marine species may stand on the brink of extinction by 2100. https://www.un.org/en/climatechange/science/climate-issues/ocean-impacts
  20. Thank you for offering absolutely no facts to back up your contention. You might want to acquaint yourself with this rule from the World News Forum landing page: "Any alleged factual claims must be supported by a valid link to an approved credible source." In the meantime, contemplate this: More than 99.9% of studies agree: Humans caused climate change More than 99.9% of peer-reviewed scientific papers agree that climate change is mainly caused by humans, according to a new survey of 88,125 climate-related studies. The research updates a similar 2013 paper revealing that 97% of studies published between 1991 and 2012 supported the idea that human activities are altering Earth’s climate. The current survey examines the literature published from 2012 to November 2020 to explore whether the consensus has changed. https://news.cornell.edu/stories/2021/10/more-999-studies-agree-humans-caused-climate-change

  22. Do you understand that you are arguing against your claim that Greta said it will be soon?
  23. Give it up. Humans live on planet earth. We are in the middle of a mass extinction. "Mass extinction" has a specific scientific meaning which I've already cited. . Are We in the Middle of a Sixth Mass Extinction? https://www.science.org/content/article/are-we-middle-sixth-mass-extinction "The planet has experienced five previous mass extinction events, the last one occurring 65.5 million years ago which wiped out the dinosaurs from existence. Experts now believe we're in the midst of a sixth mass extinction." https://www.worldwildlife.org/stories/what-is-the-sixth-mass-extinction-and-what-can-we-do-about-it#:~:text=The planet has experienced five,of a sixth mass extinction. 24. This is the definition of mass extinction: An extinction event (also known as a mass extinction or biotic crisis) is a widespread and rapid decrease in the biodiversity on Earth. Such an event is identified by a sharp change in the diversity and abundance of multicellular organisms. It occurs when the rate of extinction increases with respect to the background extinction rate[1] and the rate of speciation. She does not claim that humans are going extinct.
