The IRS is bracing for a $500 billion drop in revenue as an increasing number of taxpayers could skip submitting their filings in the wake of Department of Government Efficiency layoffs, according to a report. Taxpayer behavior has changed since President Donald Trump took office and implemented sweeping federal cuts through Elon Musk’s DOGE. As a result, the IRS has “noticed an uptick of online chatter from individuals declaring their intention to not pay taxes this year,” the Washington Post reports, citing three people with knowledge of tax projections. It added that individuals were “wagering that auditors will not examine their accounts” amid DOGE’s plans to downsize the IRS by nearly 20 percent by May 15. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/irs-doge-cuts-tax-filing-b2719911.html

Trump Takes Backpedaling to an Aerobic Extreme

He's the guy who went bankrupt four times and destroyed his father's very successful real estate business. The only reason he could hold on to any of his money is because the bankruptcy laws in New York state make it very difficult for banks to recover funds from deadbeats. But the New York banks have boycotted him ever since. -
Do I really have to spell this out for you? Why do you think I called Condda a self-righteous aa######? Because I agreed with him at somebody who didn't serve in the military as a coward? I'm tired of giving remedial reading lessons.

Actually, you're having trouble understanding yourself. "It's not the treasury's money to spend." -

More confused thinking from you. On the one hand you refer to 'merka. On the other hand according to you it apparently doesn't require any money to run. So maybe 'merka isn't a real country? Unlike The United States of America? -

Here's what you wrote: "Tax cuts don't "cost" anything. It's less money being stolen from working 'merkans." There are members who claim to be mind readers but I'm not one of them. If you can't say what you mean, don't expect others to fill in the blanks for you. -

And for someone who claims to worry about the debt, you don't seem to care at all that the Trump/Musk machine is slashing employment at the IRS. I guess the hundreds of billions lost to tax cheats don't concern you. Have you asked yourself why the 2 billionaires are doing this? -
Undocumented aliens aren't useful? Tell that to the families of dairy farmers like the family of Devin Nunes. They openly admit that over 50% of their workers are undocumented aliens. How about all those homes getting built in Texas with their labor? Not useful? Tell that to people living in the homes they built. And so on and so forth. As for being anti-American, stop wrapping yourself up in the American flag. There are 10s of millions of Americans who disagree with you. I'd like to think it's unAmerican to disparage people who disagree with you simply because they disagree with you. But maybe not anymore. Maybe it's becoming a common American characteristic.

When someone has nothing, they often try to make it personal. You've got nothing. And it's a really trite nothing, to boot. -

That's funny about Musk and Trump not needing money therefore they are not greedy. What does Trump's memecoin escapade tell you? OR Musk's repeated lies about developments at Tesla? It's funny. You kept after me about my stand on tariffs but when I asked you about reversing the tax cuts of Trump and Bush, you've kept mum. So, put up or ... We know that tax cuts have cost the treasury billions. We know that Reagan, Bush, and Trump promised tax cuts would pay for themselves. How did that work out? We keep on hearing about waste, abuse and fraud everywhere but there's remarkably little evidence to show that it's a significant problem. Musk has deleted any codes that might identify the cuts he has made. What does that tell you? As for the "look in the mirror" schtick. Just a transparent ploy to make it personal. EDIT: I should have written we know that the Reagan, Bush, and Trump tax cuts cost the Treasury TRILLIONS -
I don't think that makes much difference to the murdered party. If stopping immigrants or tourism saves just one life, then why isn't that worth it?

I keep on asking these time travelers if they have any good betting tips for upcoming sports events. So far, no joy.

If that's the case, then that kind of "real impact" also justifies keeping out all immigrants, and tourists, too.

Boomers are leaving America to retire abroad in droves because the U.S. is just too expensive "Some move abroad because they simply cannot comfortably live on a fixed retirement income in the U.S., where the costs of housing and healthcare, especially, are becoming increasingly unaffordable. A substantial number of retirees rely almost completely on Social Security payments to make ends meet in the U.S., which average around $1,900 per month. A growing portion of elderly Americans live in poverty, with social services few and far between, if they are accessible at all." https://archive.ph/DKb4y#selection-993.0-1001.74

What's really funny is that whatever Trump decides to do, that's okay with Trumpists. So much independent thinking not going on. They ask me where I stand on the issue but having surrendered their thinking processes to Trump, they no longer feel accountable.- 94 replies

It's definitely a brilliant strategy by Trump. Because if there's one thing businesses love, it's betting on what Trump is going to do next, rather than knowing. So much more fun than planning,, It's kind of like Trump has brought Las Vegas into the boardroom.- 94 replies

White House Narrows April 2 Tariffs The White House is narrowing its approach to tariffs set to take effect on April 2, likely omitting a set of industry-specific tariffs while applying reciprocal levies on a targeted set of nations that account for the bulk of foreign trade with the U.S. President Trump has declared his April 2 deadline to be “Liberation Day” for the U.S., when he will put in place so-called reciprocal tariffs that seek to equalize U.S. tariffs with the duties charged by trading partners, as well as tariffs on sectors like automobiles, pharmaceuticals and semiconductors he repeatedly said would be enacted on that day. Those sector-specific tariffs, however, are now not likely to be announced on April 2, said an administration official, who said the White House is still planning to unveil the reciprocal tariff action on that day, though planning remains fluid. https://archive.ph/Ddnn5
