  1. I wonder how the Japanese is liking their monopoly being gatecrashed?

ford has actually been in thailand in various forms a long time. Good cars, have one and so much better to drive than a corolla or accord.

I have a Ford Ranger, made by Mazda.

There seems to be some connection between Ford and Mazda?

  2. As far as U.S. teachers knowing about UKuniversities and the Middle States Commission on higher education, can you blame them? The Middle States Commission only regulates schools in 6 of the 50 states. How would they know? You would get the same look if you asked them what a GCSE is? I would say 99% of American's have no clue what a GCSE is as much as most UK folks don't know what a GED is. It's the UK educational system. I've never heard of OU either.

For graduate students who study at Payap they have to get a letter from the embassy from the country the school is located. Maybe you can get the UK embassy to write a letter saying it is an official degree equal to any other university in the UK.

If you have never heard of the concept of the Open University, maybe now is the time to "google" your knowledge.

Oh, and yes, I understand you can buy degrees in the US?

  3. When it comes to day-to-day living costs the PM is disconnected from the real world; this can happen when you are rich and price rises really don't bother you due to your large bank accounts.

Any politician, in any country, you can not trust.

Any politician will lie to the public about anything in the drive to stay in power.

I do think that maybe the followers of Thaksin Ltd are starting to see the light.

And something must be done, pronto.

    Hence the lies.

  4. I seem to remember that one of the ministers of this government stated that if a business cannot pay the minimum wage, it should close, or go to another country?

Might it possible that people elegilble for the hike will find out that the cost of living has gone up enormously, and that they will loose their job because the government thinks that the business not able to pay for the hike should close?

    Nice!

  5. A Thai car/motorcycle licence is valid in all ASEAN countries - including Indonesia.

True, at least when one of the languages is a known language in the country where it is used.

So only the new type is valid.

Most countries signed and ratified the conventions regarding the use of driving licenses abroad.

But, be certain, use an International Driving permit!

  6. I've never had a problem getting a seat on it, but I had to travel out during the day so the train wasn't too full.

Ticketing is incredibly easy and fast.

The walk from the BTS up to the Airlink platform is, in my opinion, too long. I'm fit and don't mind the walk, but there's really no reason for it (except poor planning maybe).

You should take the Express - the other line makes too many stops.

    Never!

    Poor planning?

    Impossible!

Planning in Thailand is ALWAYS meticulous, and very much as wanted.

Not your wants, of course, but anyone having profit from the meticulous planning.

  7. Most of the above posts are absolutely right. But going strictly 90 km/h on a motorway like, or similar road,

doesn't make sense, when 120 would be possible without any danger.

It is all about the proven ability of the drivers. So people driving public vehicles, should be much better trained and chosen more careful.

120 km/h would be possibe without danger?

    In Thailand?

Even 90 km/h is too much for nearly all drivers.

Oh well, you said so yurself in the last line.
