So the comms cables, instead of being up and (mostly) out of the way will now reside in these "holders" (whatever that means) for the next x months years centuries.

How can the MEA impose anything on the telecoms providers? After all they are no longer providing anything to the comms chaps having removed the poles that they were using.

Some "before" and "After" images would be nice, to show just what has been achieved.

Of course they can be charged.

Before: charged for using the poles.

After: charged for using the underground structures.

You really think private companies should not pay for using state property?

I think some sort of medical insurance requirement will happen in the near future.  And I don't mean just travel insurance.  I would be buying some local Thai insurance if I do semi retire there, so that in itself is not a worry to me, except if they mandate it, and then the costs are driven up because foreigners now must have it.

Except, when you are 70, end of insurance.

Maybe it is time for Thailand to introduce insurance for expats, in-patient only, state hospitals only?

There was such a plan, but it seems to be on hold.

and sadly most of the parents do not raise their children ,they are dumped with the grand mothers .Dont tell me "family comes first" in Thailand.

Might there be economic reasons, read survival?

I agree, raising by grandparents is not ideal, but raising children by working parents, maybe living on a building project, is not ideal either.

    A joke
new tax rates effective today (Sept 16)
One reads 1000 different prizes, no one knows how to calculate this correct, the funny price game here.
The worst organized tax increase I've ever experienced in my life.

This has nothing to do with a properly announced, properly organized and properly communicated tax increase.
This is the circus of disability.

You are saying your country's tax rules are utterly open and understandable, logic and honest?

    Don't think so.

If it's a published law it's not extortion.

If you are a tourist, indeed you need to carry your passport all the time.

If you are registered as living in Thaland, having been noted in a tambien baan, or even having obtained the Thai pink ID-card, the police might order you to show your passport in any police station.

    Must be a written order!

Don't need to carry your passport all the time.

    Advice from a public prosecutors.

Wondering what my dad is doing writing the headlines ?

But in all seriousness the African men are very well known for dealing gear in that area (not sure if they're known for anything else tbh).

But having a guy getting lifted for dealing by possessing little over half a gram of ya ice is outrageous..

And another thing i read last week was about trying to reduce numbers of those incarcerated.. Yet when the cops are trying to arrest people for pissing positive for drugs it is either a shakedown tactic or at odds with the wider attempts to lighten the prisoner numbers.

Pissing positive should NOT be an issue unless a person is driving, operating machinery, or has committed serious violent crimes immediately before the tests

    Maybe others think differently......
