Checking papers and asking where they are going.  Freedom isnt really one of Prayuths likes.  The military shouldnt be oppressing citizens like this, its archaic and barbaric and no place in modern society.

No, instead they should let the redshirt going on a rampage.....again.

Burning buildings, killing others, placing and throwing bombs, threatening to form an army, threatening to break up the country, and so on.

That of course is not archaic and barbaric, but hugely democratic.

All this Yingluck business is just a clash between two factions, both intent of holding on or gaining power.

You would also remember then of the 58 murdered by the military, 38  Red shirt supporters were shot in the back

And maybe you remember the burnings and murders before and after that done by the redshirts and ordered by redshirt leaders?

Besides, there is reasonable doubt if all the deaths can be blamed on the military.

There is also the deaths during the "Suthep" demonstrations.

    Anther case of "whodunnit"?

This should not be a revelation. Intimate touching without consent is always sexual harassment.

Even looking without consent is sexual harassment nowadays, they say.

Men and women should never touch each other, it is dirty.

Women-women and men-men seems to be ok, in private and in public.

While there is no doubt that the Shin family will be very influential in the party for many years to come, I truly hope that they choose an outsider, non-family member as Leader.

Thailand needs a party to challenge the Bangkok elite, and it would proceed much more smoothly without a Shin family member in charge.

Perhaps then the 'establishment' might actually have to come up with policies that attract supporters rather than whinge endlessly about the opposition.

Thailand needs a party to challenge the Bangkok elite?

With a party owned by a clan hellbent on making the country a private playground for personal gain and using the state's money to bind the poor?

You really think that is a good thing?

so the instruction to have working one water pump will be sufficient to pump away a few hundred cubic metres per hour across the entire flood prone  region ?  This guy is either yet another Thai male ignoramus or else something has been lost in translation.  Or simply both

I presume the pump mentioned shall have a good capacity.

But sometimes nature is stronger as anything humans can fight it with.

    Then you can only hope!

He always likes to ask the people which I find commendable only problem is his opinion rules ! “If the Thai people all over the country find it acceptable for unrest to happen again, I will not stand in the way,” he said, and who or what will be the cause of unrest ?

    The redshirt leaders.

    The star ratings of these 5 mentioned Thai airlines does surprise me somewhat. If I had to predict beforehand, based on my experience flying them all numerous times, I would have gone with;

    Orient Thai: 1star

    Nok Air: 2stars

    AirAsia: 3 stars

    Thai Air: 4stars

    Bangkok Air: 4+stars

What might have skewed the results is the difference between long haul fligh and only short haul flight airlines. Short haul airlines are generally a lot more dangerous due to the inherent risk of take of and landing and use of smaller (prop) planes.

Anyway, still plenty work to do for all Thai airlines!

How did you get the idea propellor planes are less safe?

Maybe valid for piston engines, but turboprops are actually safer as jets and cheaper to run.

And where did you get the idea smaller aircraft are less safe.

Your only valid point is more take off and landings.

But there again, a prop is much safer.

I thought officers were given a commission meaning they had to serve a certain amount of time, resigning should not be possible especially after the way he was given his rank, then again he does have family in top positions to do as they please and screw the regulations

If the study in any way might benefit the army or the country, it is quite possible in many countries to leave the army and become a reserve.

Also, in many countries, including western countries, family members or friends get a favourable treatment, more or less invisible of course.

Firs, TG should be ultimately responsibility for all mishapps under it's

second, if you employ outsiders, they should be monitored at all times,

third, as a member already pointed out, it takes only one crazy loan wolf

a sympathizer of this or that cause to bring a fully loaded plane down,

do we really need a calamaty to happens before ' security will be stepped up '

    Slip something into your luggage?

Quite possible, and happened before with disastrous results for the owner of the suitcase.

Yingluck AND her Government set up the rice pledging scheme. Totally dishonest and corrupt people then abused the system and robbed an estimated 469 Billion baht. It strikes me that it is the people involved with the corruption who should have been chased down, assets frozen and be in court. The fact this is not so, in any major way, has "political prosecution" and witch hunt written all over it.

Sometimes the head honcho has to shoulder the ultimate blame, which is one of the risk of being the head honcho.

Even after all these years of reading Thailand based newspapers about the problems in Southern Thailand, I am still confused. My Thai wife has always been told and believes that the problems in the south actually stems from years of sending all the inactive police posts from Thailand down there. Could be, I have no idea.

    The problem is Islam.

    Time for martial law.
