Rabbi's Murder Sparks Terror Alert for Israelis in Thailand
Patong2021 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You have made a lot of assumptions about the deceased. He was born in Jerusalem and came to the UAE to provide religious services to the jewish population in the UAE. He was working in a grocery store, ensuring the provision of kosher products. This was hardly the basis upon which to accuse him of occupying disputed land or in attacking anyone. This has nothing to do with Arabs other than the Arabs of the UAE being innocent indirect victims of a vile crime. Arabs did not kill the man. Turkmenistan nationals in the pay of Iran have been identified by both Turkey and the UAE. -
Rabbi's Murder Sparks Terror Alert for Israelis in Thailand

The same can be said against you when a jihadi terrorist sets off a bomb on an airplane, or when Russian affiliated militias shoot down European passenger airliners. -
Rabbi's Murder Sparks Terror Alert for Israelis in Thailand
Patong2021 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not in the least. Thailand has a history of Iranian and North African linked terrorism activity. Sometimes it is money laundering, or smuggling of people. And at other times it is an overt attack. I was here for this one; https://www.france24.com/en/20130822-thailand-bangkok-court-convicts-iranian-men-bomb-plot-israeli-diplomats How is Israel being arrogant when it warns that Iranian financed Turkmenistan nationals may try to kill Israelis in Thailand?? The attack in the UAE was carried out by foreigners not UAE nationals. What victimhood? A murder occurred in the UAE, The responsible killers were caught fleeing through Turkey. Are you denying what the Turkish and UAE authorities now confirm? The man was employed at a grocery store that provided kosher food. Yes, he was a rabbi, but as such he was trained in ensuring that food was prepared in accordance of kosher requirements. Things such as the separation of dairy and animal proteins, Why would you suggest that the man who in effect oversaw the koshering of chicken carcasses was involved in a drug deal? In case you missed it, the UAE has a zero drug tolerance policy. -
Trump and his posse forced Biden to grant the pardon. There is no denying that Trump and friends were going to pursue Hunter even if he was in prison, and they would keep putting out unfounded conspiracy claims. And no I don't agree with this pardon, but I can understand why it was done.

American Exceptionalism: Reality or Just a Myth?
Patong2021 replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I used to watch Cops religiously when it first came out. And then there were America's high speed pursuits, and then Jail, a series that profiles the Las Vegas jail intake. There was nothing exceptional about the people who were shown. -
Why Do Thai Girls Love Getting Tattoos?
Patong2021 replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
No need for a complex explanation when a commonsense simple explanation suffices: The vast majority of tattooed prostitutes have mental illness. Being inked is also part of the subculture. Multiple studies have documented the link between mental illness and the likelihood of people to be heavily tattooed and to favour face, neck and full sleeve type tattoos. There is no denying that prostitutes often have multiple mental illness conditions. They also engage in high risk behaviours. Examples of studies are; International Journal of Dermatology 2019 Jul;58(7):816-824 : Are tattoos associated with negative health-related outcomes and risky behaviors? Karoline Mortensen PhD, Michael T. French PhD, Andrew R. Timming PhD Individuals with tattoos were more likely to be diagnosed with a mental health issue and to report sleep problems. People who had tattoos were also more likely to be smokers, to have spent time in jail, and to have a higher number of sex partners in the past year. Annals of Epidemiology 2012 Jan;22(1):51-6: Who gets tattoos? Demographic and behavioral correlates of ever being tattooed in a representative sample of men and women, Wendy Heywood 1, Kent Patrick, Anthony M A Smith, Judy M Simpson, Marian K Pitts, Juliet Richters, Julia M Shelley Men with lower levels of education, tradesmen, and women with live-out partners are more likely to be tattooed. Tattooing was also associated with risk-taking behaviours, including smoking, greater numbers of lifetime sexual partners, cannabis use (women only) and ever having depression (men only). Tattoos still appear to be a marker for risk-taking behavior in adults. Commonsense also differentiates between youthful misadventure, drunken folly and intentional group affiliation such as the tattoos done by elite athletes who will ink the Olympic insignia or their team banner.- 107 replies

Hospitality sector has multiple Europeans employed as managers, chefs, F&B workers. Restaurant or bar owner. Some people may be coming home from a social engagement or in caring for a friend. The point is that one doesn't know why the person was out at that hour and it is unfair to accuse and to prejudge the deceased without any facts.

Do try to read the intent of the carbon use adjustment. It is a 2 tier system. Pricing carbon pollution is one of the most effective ways to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change. It creates a financial incentive for people and businesses to pollute less. One tier is a federal fuel surcharge. All of the money collected through the fuel charge system is returned to Canadians. Approximately 90% of the proceeds go right back to individuals through the Canada Carbon Rebate. The rest goes back to farmers, small- and medium-enterprises and Indigenous governments. The other tier is an Output-based pricing system (OBPS) for industries, which gives a price incentive for industrial emitters to reduce their greenhouse emissions. All proceeds are returned to the provinces or territories where the money is collected. The local authority can use the money to fund public transit, or alternative fuel generation or give it back to consumers or something else. Yes, the Canadian government has given a GST (VAT) tax holiday for 3 months. No one is complaining. It will come in handy for most people as the end of the year is tight on expenses. The last I saw is that the $250 tax rebate payment was not approved by parliament, so you should update yourself.

Do not expect to be taken seriously if you use childish terms and insults. Add to that your deranged claims of a conspiracy and you deserve no further time. Professor Professor Klaus Schwab is a world renowned applied scientist with a double doctorate in engineering and economics. He is 86 years old and it is unlikely that PM Trudeau is his protege. Dr. Schwab is mostly retired now.. Are you even sober when you write your nonsense?

The attempt to blame Mexico for the fentanyl crisis is a refusal to accept responsibility for a made in America crisis. Go after the motorcycle gangs who manufacture and distribute the crystal meth and fent. Deal with the users. You could stop all drugs from entering tomorrow and the USA would still have a drug crisis. It is because the society is rotting from the inside out. The people are neglected and not taken care of. While Elon and Sylvester party at Mar O Logo, thousands of homeless, destitute people are scavenging the streets of the big cities look for their next meal.

Says the refugee who entered Canada because of Liberal government willingness to accept immigrants from the developing world. Odd that you would criticize the decriminalization of marijuana. Penalizing people for the use of cannabis was hardly productive. I don't know what a woke prison is, but if you are referring to prisons that try to rehabilitate and that concentrate on keeping violent people out of society, ok. The Canadian prison system is certainly less corrupt and violent than the UK and US systems, and is certainly more effective at protecting society. The safe injection sites were on a trial basis and will soon be reduced and eliminated. The carbon taxes while not perfect, have been financially neutral for most Canadians since they have received rebate payments. Perhaps, instead of repeating nonsensical political slogans, you should take the time to understand issues. The Canadian voters will decide what to do and they will most likely opt for a change in government just as was done in the UK and elsewhere. No, it will not. There was a reason the USA had to lift its tariffs the last time. They had not expected that Canada would impose tariffs on US imports. Continue pissing off former allies and soon the USA will be left alone and isolated. The USA needs access to critical markets around the world. If it cannot sell its products it will see its GDP crash. The arrogance of the MAGA collective is playing into the hands of China and Russia. Canada is a country because of its own strengths. Had the British not screwed Canada over, the borders would be very different. Whenever the Africans or Irish complain about British colonialism , they should look at how the British looted Canada's resources and then bought off the Americans by giving up large amounts of Canadian territory. And you you shouldn't be so cocky, the last time the USA started a war with Canada it lost and Washington DC burnt to the ground, much as Trump tried to do and then failed on Jan. 6. keep up the arrogant drivel and watch the American people turn on the nitwits promoting such arrogance. The American electorate is selfish and if inflation increases and they can't get cheap goods, they will complain.

He most certainly has.He has been vocal in his condemnation. There is a separation of powers in Canada. Local law enforcement is the responsibility of the municipalities and of the provincial government. The PM has expressed the same position of the two conservative provincial prime ministers where the protests have occurred. Here's an example of him condemning protestors. https://www.ctvnews.ca/video/c3035508-trudeau-condemns-violent-protest-in-montreal?playlistId=1.7121064

And armed and supplied by the USA. Why does the USA allow all those weapons to flow into Mexico? The cartels would not have the wealth and power that they do if the USA was not supplying the money to do so. The two most common drugs imported into the USA are marijuana and methamphetamine. No one is forcing Americans to gobble down the meth or to smoke the cannabis. Americans find it easier to blame Mexico, when the real problem is the moral rot and hypocrisy of the American people.

He is not supporting terrorists. That comment really is ignorant. The PM of Canada is tasked with representing his country's best interests just as Trump is expected to represent the USA best interests. Trudeau managed to do pilot an effective response to Trump last time, even though it resulted in an erosion of support for the USA. Good on Trudeau for heading down to Florida to tackle the tariff issues and to remind Trump that the tariffs will hurt the USA as well. Most Americans have no understanding that motor vehicle components can cross the US- Canada border multiple times before a vehicle is finished and that the autos assembled and parts manufactured in Canada typically rely on US components. Canada Imports from United States were US$277.04 Billion in 2023. If Canada places retaliatory tariffs on those imports, the economies of 30 states will be negatively impacted. E.g. Republican Florida's agriculture economy relies on exports to Canada. A tariff will make latin American sourced produce even more competitive and wipe out the citrus industry. A tariff on oil & gas exports to the USA is going to hurt the USA as will a restriction on exports of important minerals. The USA has a bad habit of trying to bully Canada, and Americans are always surprised when Canadians eventually retaliate. The USA cannot go it alone and if Trump persists on his provocations and bullying he will get a fight that will damage US interests. The US economy depends on exports and if the USA forces the rest of the world to consider other options the US economy will shrink and decay.

Sukhumvit Nightlife: Who’s Keeping It Alive?

Whatever happened to the man without any arms and legs? I remember seeing him and being in shock. -
They did not get anything righht because they have not presented a thorough analysis of the data. The person who did the data analysis is not a specialist not qualified to undertake such analysis: She is employed as a physician's assistant. The journal that the "study" appeared in, is compensated for the publishing: It is not a journal of academic excellence or of a certified research body. Ever seen the awards that are handed out for "People's Best Employer" or "Lesiure World's Best Resort"? Businesses pay to receive the award for marketing purpose. The Wellness Group which is where 2 of the 4 are associated with, sells health supplements that were once touted as Covid cure alls. Both have been sanctioned by their professional bodies or former employers for misconduct.

Singapore is my go to alternative. Although it is expensive, everything in Singapore works, and best of all I can drink the tap water. My clothes will never smell like wet dog, and the likelihood of food poisoning is low. No cop shakedowns and people speak English. medical care is top quality and there are building safety codes. I will be hiding out in Singapore (or Japan) for Songkran 2025.

AOT confirms facial recognition for international flights
Patong2021 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It seems that the AoT data will be separate from the Thai immigration system. And not such a bad idea. Aot will be deleting the data after 48 hours, while Thai immigration can retain forever. -
How do you know? Have you read the case file? A cornerstone of determining guilt is if there is an intent to do wrong. Sentencing is influenced by the co-operation of the implicated party. If she co-operated and provided useful information it would have had an impact on her sentencing. In plain language, grassing and giving up people can result in a lighter penalty. Says the person with no legal training and no experience in the administration of justice. If one person co-operated and gave up valuable information, then that person can be treated more leniently.

You are presenting a revisionist version of Mr. Lynch. He was not sentenced to detention simply for saying "hurty" words . On the contrary, he was an active participant in a violent riot that result in physical damage and physical injury. At the time, a violent mob had gathered outside the Holiday Inn Express in Manvers, Rotherham. Participants had already broken into the premises and were trying to threatening to burn the building down. Hundreds of hotel occupants and workers were at risk of physical harm. Mr. Lynch was present, actively encouraging the mob and was attempting to incite violence against the police officers. He pleaded guilty to a charge of violent disorder (participation in a violent riot). The man was a thug. He was already in bad health having advanced heart disease complicated by diabetes.
