  1. Sketchy litigation coming from a "physician" who specializes in the treatment of "headaches". Not mentioned is that the restaurant specializes in spicy hot dishes and is known for those dishes. Lawsuit is blaming a worker for adding too many peppers to the dish. Walia claimed the chicken-based dish "scalded her vocal cords and esophagus with fiery flavors “unfit for human consumption . For reference sake, her medical diploma was awarded at Ross University School of Medicine, a private, for-profit medical school, in Barbados. Until 2019, the university's main campus was in Portsmouth, Dominica. RUSM is owned by Adtalem Global Education Inc. a for profit business entity.
  2. No I am not "wrong".You are using an airline ticket that is not issued in Thailand. You have missed the point, that airline tickets issued in Thailand by some carriers obscure the airline charges. In Thailand, airlines are allowed to declare a lump sum. It is a practice long ago stopped in Australia, USA, UK and EU. It is deceitful for an airline to present all of the charges, taxes and fees as a lump sum. This gives the impression that all of the charges do not originate with the airline. If I go to the Air Asia website and put in a basic DMK-KUL-DMK itinerary, it returns the following; Base fare USD 106.24 , Taxes, fees & surcharges USD 78.03, Add-ons USD 14.85, Total Amount USD $199.17 If a bag, seat and meal are selected, the add on cost increases to $110.89 with a total of $295.02 The charge for airport and taxes is unchanged. The invoice does not include a description of how the add on total is calculated. Here's where the issues arise; i. Part of the add on cost is not requested by the passenger and is a negative option purchase, meaning that if not specifically rejected, is automatically charged. (This is not allowed in many jurisdictions, particularly those which forbid abusive selling practices) ii.- The tax is not shown as a separate line item -The passenger immigration fee is not shown as a separate item -The separate visitor fee is not shown as a separate item. -Sometimes an airline fuel surcharge is included but not declared as such I provided the line split that is shown when an airline ticket is issued outside of Thailand; For reference sake, my round trip on TG to Tokyo next month is invoiced with these charges in Thai baht; Advance Passenger Processing User Charge 68 International Arrival & Departure Fees 30 Passenger Service Charge - Thailand(TS) 728 Some Thai airlines do not include this split in their invoicing. Nor do they specifically declare their own add on costs, other than as a total amount. This is why it is misleading. It's like advertising round trip airfares to KUL for 500 baht, without declaring the airline surcharges, fees and taxes.
  3. Honestly, this story doesn't sit right with me. We all know that the Pakistanis and Indians detest each other, particularly Hindu v. Muslim v Sikh with all uniting to persecute Christians. It does not seem plausible that Pakistanis could so easily con the Indians, unless and it is a significant UNLESS, the perps and victims were either all of similar sect/religion, i.e. Muslim exploiting muslim or Sikh exploiting Sikh etc.
  4. Pleasingly plump in the eyes of the "date" from Silom 2.
  5. Nor the back door either 🤭
  6. Not technically feasibile unless all links are blocked. My friends and I I regularly send each other links; Links to address/map locations, reservations at restaurants or hotels, meeting/appointment dates, Team Meeting links, Instagram photos etc. The government can't expect that it will block this. Some of us are lost without a proper map reference.
  7. This will make a good Netflix series.
  8. You listen to groups only when they support your political position. IT is termed bias confirmation. You criticize my statement that there is hardship in Gaza. Ok, so is your position then that it is a Hamas sponsored party? The men get to indulge their sexual violence on Israeli hostages and Yazidi slave girls trafficked in from Iraq? Aid is being sent in to Gaza. You ignore the fact that Hamas takes what it wants for its personnel and their families. The Gazans get the rest. However, much of the remaining aid is stolen by the Gazans. ask Hamas and the local officials how everything is available on the black market. The gazans can go back to being morbidly obese and sitting around fornicating, popping out children at one of the highest rates in the world. Until then, they can suffer the consequences. It was Gaza that attacked Israel, so boo hoo.
  9. To clarify, this comment was not directed at the person who provided his fare summary. It was about the airline practice trying to pass its own surcharges and fees without a clear description.
  10. Food aid has entered. Hamas typically takes it for its personnel and their families. Last week, 50 trucks carrying aid entered the north of the Gaza strip. It is up to Gaza to distribute the food fairly. Georgios Petropoulos - head of the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Gaza - admitted to the the BBC that organised criminal gangs operating in Gaza were active, with many aid drivers reporting being robbed while transporting food and shelter items. These crime groups also participated in the October 7 attack on Israel in hopes of obtaining hostages that they could ransom off. Yes, there is hardship, but it is the intended objective of Hamas. The more suffering that can be shown, the greater the pressure can be brought on Israel. The US and EU positions are in large part political posturing to appease their own voter base. The US administration needs the Arab vote in Michigan and has to talk tough on issues like this to show that they care, The reality is that no one really cares about the Gazans. Not the western hand wringers, and certainly not the leadership of Hamas who cavort in their luxury villas in Qatar with their US$11 billion of funds siphoned off from aid donors.
  11. Allowing Hezbollah to build tunnels including , command and control bunkers and munitions storage either under or in close proximity to UN positions, in effect using the UN facilities as cover was not in their tasks either, and yet they allowed it. How could they miss the construction activity or the foot traffic?
  12. The bars are named elsewhere. As the report comes from Khaosod, the media entity most likely wished to minimize the potential for being sued for libel. Do a Google search of Huan Hin bar raided underage girls and you will see the names of those arrested, the bars and a nice photo. Both bars were rather seedy looking and the strip isn't known for its quality of customers or beauty of its bar workers. I was rather surprised to read "underage" as most of the workers on the strip look more like naughty grannies with equally elderly customers.
  13. Seriously? What part of WORLD NEWS did you not comprehend?
  14. The above is a dishonest misrepresentation of the fees and surcharges by the airline or ticketing entity. Most of the fees and surcharges are airline generated, and not government. Some airlines don't want to be honest and show that they circumvent fare rules by charging fees and surcharges. An airline doesn't need to refund many fees and surcharges, nor does it pay tax on all of them.
  15. The charge is still there. For reference sake, my round trip on TG to Tokyo next month is invoiced with these charges in Thai baht; Advance Passenger Processing User Charge 68 International Arrival & Departure Fees 30 Passenger Service Charge - Thailand(TS) 728 826 Yes, I understand that the fee is chump change, but I really doubt that the fees are entirely used for the stated purposes and that is what irks me.
  16. No one is victim blaming. You are however having a hissy fit over nothing. You paid 10,000 baht for an entry level 50" TV. In 1985, a 20 inch TV cost 40,000 baht+ and did not offer anywhere near the features on the current base TV models. Samsung manufactures most of its Thai market mobile phones in Thailand. The recent quality phone issues are specific to Thailand manufacturing issues. The Samsung televisions sold in Thailand are mostly sourced from Vietnam and there are few quality issues reported on the products. Because someone on a youtube channel offers an opinion that there is an issue with a Samsung TV component does not make it a fact. Hundreds of thousands of Samsung Televisions are sold in Thailand and relatively few manufacturing defects are reported. When they are, they typically show up within the first 90 days of use. Yes, you may have a dud or a product that had an issue before its time. However, you do not know if your TV was subject to a power surge or an incident when you were not around. You are angry because your relatively inexpensive Television is no longer in warranty. You have an unreasonable expectation when you froth over the refusal to provide warranty service. You are upset that the service has an estimated min, cost of 6,000 baht/USD 175 /137 Pound/ AUD 268/ EURO 165 Euro. Seriously, get a grip. That's nothing. This is the reality of consumer electronics. In respect to internet speeds, yes Thailand reports some high speed capability. The reality though is that the speeds are actually averages and consumers do not obtain the advertised high speeds. Outside of urban areas with their government hubs and universities, the broadband speeds are much, much lower on a daily consistency basis than is stated. The current Thai average is running below 250 mbps and reflects the impact of the high speed clusters. https://www.speedtest.net/global-index/thailand 250 is still excellent, but it is not 1000mbps. In order to have the fastest internet speeds, one must connect to a fiber optic system and presently, less than 25% of Thailand is located within 10 km of such a system, and those that do have access are in the larger urban centers. Yes, it is unfortunate your TV broke down, but getting upset over a relatively small repair expense serves no purpose.. It's a minor expense and the cost of having consumer convenience.
  17. No worries. He is now selling coffee. He sells 2 lb / 907 g tins for $29.99 plus shipping. In contrast Walmart offers the same amount of coffee for $13.50 and Starbucks is approx. $20.00 How the mighty have fallen. I doubt the former Mrs. G. is too heartbroken. On April 4, 2018, Judith Giuliani filed for divorce from Rudy Giuliani. It was related in part to the "Maria Rosa Ryan” affair, the hospital administrator with whom Rudy was caught spending a night at a New Hampshire hotel and exposed in its sordid detail in the New York Post. The divorce was settled on December 10, 2019. Unfortunately, 3 years later, Judith Giuliani was forced to file a lawsuit against Rudy for non-compliance regarding the divorce settlement. It looks like he repeated some of the delays and obfuscations of that court case with the recent Georgia case, which may explain why the judge has not allowed any wiggle room for Rudy this time.
  18. If you will need dialysis, you obviously have kidney issues and would be better off situated close to a hospital. There are 3 decent hospitals in Hua Hin with Bangkok and San Paulo being the easiest to get to. The last thing you want to do is to have to travel all over the place for things. Hua Hin has all the supplies you need and there are enough restaurants that are used to people asking for low sodium dishes. One of the issues you will have as a dialysis patient is the diet you have to follow, and that means sometimes accessing the large retailers to access the low sodium and reduced potassium options. Something as basic as finding canned salmon or tuna in water and not oil can be an annoyance outside the big city. In respect to dialysis, before you go on the hospital format, which requires a visit 3X a week @ 4 hours or more each session and can leave you exhausted, please give some consideration to home dialysis. You do it yourself at home using a home machine. This can be done once a day, or at night. Another option depending on your disease state, is peritoneal dialysis that you do daily, sometimes 1X or up to 4X a day. It requires a permanent catheter in your abdomen that is easily concealable under clothing. You have options other than visiting the hospital which can be time consuming and expose you to multiple sick people.
  19. Time to send the despot of North korea a message.
  20. Did that justify the murder of all aboard the Malaysian Airliner that the Russian backed militia shot down using russian anti aircraft missiles?
  21. Nice fantasy. On the contrary, most mules fall into the following; - In serious debt, often to loansharks. They are given the option of being a mule or of suffering the fate of someone who doesn't pay a debt. - Long term criminals- it's just another gig. - Gullible idiots talked into this by a boy/girlfriend. - Blackmailed Intelligent people never ever move the product. They get suckers, or greedy or desperate people to do it. The mules are expendable and often do not live long enough to make a career from this.
  22. The bashing of Samsung would be more understandable if it wasn't so emotional. The original complaint comes from a person who is upset because an out of warranty product will not be repaired as if it is under warranty. An unknown model was purchased from Lotus over a year ago. We are not told if it was heavily used item, if it has been knocked over a few times or had liquids poured on it. (Consumers with broken items, rarely admit to this.) One doesn't know if the it was a higher end model, or an older demo model. The OP says he paid approx. 10,000 baht. According to the Samsung price list, that's the cost of the most basic of 50" TVs. A low cost in itself is not an excuse for a device that breaks down after 14 months, but one can get a good idea what the TV is. Here's a reality check: Samsung has one of the highest reliability ratings of all the TV manufacturers. The humidity and temperature conditions of Thailand are very different than the moderate temperatures of western Europe and they have an impact on a consumer electronic's performance and longevity. Today's TVs are not made to last for a long time for the simple reason that technology keeps changing and what was cutting edge 5 years ago, is often obsolete 5 years later. My Panasonic of 7 years ago wouldn't be able to run Netflix today. For reference sake; South Korea is where the top end of Samsung's products (e.g. high quality QLED and 8K ) are manufactured and few of these TVs are exported to Thailand because they are too expensive or require high speed internet which is not readily available in Thailand, outside of Bangkok. Vietnam: Most of the TVs seen in Thailand are manufactured here. They are for the local regional market and the quality reflects the low purchase cost. Samsung obtains its components inhouse and depending upon the model will outsource the manufacture of its components to third party suppliers. These same suppliers provide similar parts to other Television manufacturers, some of whom are brands being praised in this thread. Look at who some of the suppliers are; https://www.samsung.com/us/aboutsamsung/sustainability/supply-chain/supplier-list/ One thing that Samsung has that is different than some of the other manufacturers, is its intensive quality control and testing process. Yes, the control processors can suffer defects in the Samsung (and LG and Panasonic models), but that's more of a reflection of Intel quality, not Samsung. Ever since Covid, there has been a worldwide shortage of semi conductors and it has impacted all manufacturers. and forced the use of parts that may not necessarily be of the same high quality that was present 5 years ago. Unfortunately, it is an issue that faces every manufacturer of consumer electronics that require the chips and processors. The reality is that Samsung is still one of the best quality TVs available. No, this does not excuse the poor service response, but that's a local Thai issue, not a Samsung issue.
  23. No worries. It is the religion of peace after all. 😉
  24. What's your problem? Are you upset because of the UK's provision of support to prevent wide scale social collapse in Ukraine? Would you rather see the hospitals go without supplies and children starve because Russia chose to target food warehouses and power supply?
  25. How so? Is she qualified to interpret satellite imaging and military ship movements? Is she a recognized expert in military matters? Is she considered an expert at military message deciphering? The South Korean evidence relies in large part on that type of information. What was spun? You offer a person with knowledge of North Korean food policy and of UN social assistance aid for North Korea as a military expert.
