  1. My source is https://www.refworld.org/reference/annualreport/hrw/1994/en/41309 The report accepted by the UN was published by the well reputed Human Rights Watch. What reason would it have to present false information? What is your source?
  2. The lower limb weakness is already established and no secret. The man has arthritis and chronic plantar fascitis. This impacts his walking gait. It isn't a balance issue as much as it is an ability to take proper steps. The illness does not impact his cognitive ability.
  3. They did not. Your version is the attempt to excuse and to justify the violence. The established fact is that the attacks were planned and organized long before some of the incidents you refer to occurred. And while some of them did occur, they were preceded by documented incidents of insults and death chants first directed at the Macabbi fans. This neither excuses, nor justifies the Israeli behaviour, but it explains how they were provoked and bullied by organized migrant gangs. It should also be stressed that the mobs were not Dutch and were made up of foreigners allowed into the Netherlands because of Dutch hospitality and generosity. The mobs were made up of Syrians, Iraqis and North Africans who have had a history of causing civil disorder in the Netherlands. That's the underlying issue: A group of foreigners who refuse to integrate and to respect Dutch culture and social norms, one of which is politeness and respect for others.
  4. No worries. Trump called Putin and told him to behave. Russia will now behave. if that doesn't work, maybe Elon and Donald Jr. can have a call with Vlad.
  5. It does not matter if the phone is 25,000 baht now. That is not your loss. What was the phone's market value at the time of the loss? Demanding anything more, is considered as an attempt to profit from the loss. If your phone was an older model, then you must recognize the depreciation. E.g, if it was 2 years older or more, then it is no longer worth the cost of a new model. Mobile phones depreciate quickly and you cannot expect replacement cost. Guidance comes from how property damage claims are settled in law. The responsible party, is only liable for the damage caused, not the replacement cost of the damaged item. If the phone is only worth 10,000 baht at the time of the loss, that is all that you can collect. If the actual current value of the mobile phone was less than 10,000 baht, forget about it and move on. If you do wish to proceed, 1. Verify that there is CCTV recording of the wrongful act. If no recording, then your position is difficult, and I suggest dropping the case. 2. If CCTV recording, since you have his telephone number, call him and tell him that unless settlement is made, you will be filing a police report. Give him 48 hours to settle. Remind him that there is a low threshold for the establishment of property damage liability and that if a police report is filed, it may have a negative impact on his immigration status, particularly entry/departure of Thailand. 3. Don't be discouraged by comments that Police are useless. Sometimes there are decent cops and if this man has done this, there is a chance he is already known to the police.
  6. In respect to deportations, the first priority will be the 1 million+ people who are already subject to a deportation order. The reality is that the Trump administration will struggle to accomplish its promise. The reasons are self evident; 1. Past Performance: Trump only deported approx. 1.5 million over 4 years. The Obama 1st administration deported almost 2X as many people - 2.9 million and approx. 1.9 million in the 2nd Obama administration. The Biden administration currently sits at an estimated 1.49 million deportations and will most likely be at 1.75+ by the time Trump is inaugurated. 2. Capability & Expense: It is expensive to deport people. They have to first be detained, and then held and processed before they can be deported. Although ICE and CBP employ close to 90,000 people, only 20,000 of them are U.S. Border Patrol agents. Approx. $6 billion is spent on enforcement and detention. An estimated 3,000 of these agents are dedicated to the detention and deportation of unauthorized migrants. In FY 2024, Congress provided $3.43 billion to immigration detention centers alone. In contrast, Congress appropriated just $840 million for the entire immigration court system, and funded $424 million to the entirety of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ refugee and asylum division. It becomes obvious that the problem is in the processing of the unauthorized migrants. In order to ramp up deportations, common sense says that the budget would have to increase significantly. Tens of thousands of additional agents would also be needed. There are staffing shortages now. Where are these agents supposed to come from? 3. Destination: Deportations are not easy. In order to deport someone, you have to be able to send them to a country willing to accept them. Canada doesn't want them, nor does it have the ability to take them in. It already has 5 million temporary Canadians who have overloaded the education and healthcare system and contributed to an affordable housing crisis. Mexico won't take them because most would not be Mexican nationals and is already struggling with millions of unauthorized migrants. One can't wave a magic wand and say begone and the migrants end up back in Venezuela, Bolivia, Iraq, Chad etc. The UK has been struggling to deport thousands of people only to have deportation flights halted by activists or to be refused landing in destination countries. The USA faces the same issue. The reality is that it will be a difficult task and it doesn't matter who is in charge, deporting millions isn't going to happen any time soon.
  7. I am not an early adapter of new technology, so I am unlikely to consider using this for at least the next decade. However, I can see this as being of great use for transport of time sensitive cargo like medicine or laboratory samples, and even of general cargo. My greatest concern is the potential for interference. Vehicle thieves now exploit the electronic controls of vehicles to steal them, so I can see someone seizing control of one of these aircraft for fun or for extortion.
  8. The man was not really at risk for execution. In 1993, 217 prisoners were under death sentence in Bang Kwang prison, mostly for murder and drug trafficking, but no prisoners had been executed since 1989. Yes, he was foolish and thoughtless, but he was a mule. An expendable mule. The people who gave him the drugs to smuggle and who profited from the trade, continued on their merry way.
  9. Sad story. Loneliness all around.
  10. A bit of a loser? Sounds and acts like a massive pile of loser. This is the type of individual who makes bad choices motivated by self indulgence and hedonistic desires, and then expects that he should be taken care of by the people who have been disciplined and forward thinking. There are organizations who will assist employable unhoused people. The real reason why the unhoused cannot find employment is due to their behaviour. They often have drug/alcohol dependencies, and/or mental illness and/or social integration dysfunction. Multiple organizations in the LA County like NAMI, HireUP and LAHSA invest significantly in the integration of the unhoused into the workplace. What bad luck? This man made specific personal lifestyle choices. He made his own luck. There are consequences for selfish and/or stupid decisions. I doubt that this man will listen to the advice of anyone if it necessitates his not being able to pursue his vision of a good time. He gives off the vibe that he is the type of person who brings problems wherever he goes. He should return to the USA. At least there he can access the social services he will need. Poor and emotionally immature is not a good way to be outside of one's homeland.
  11. It is awfully hot and humid in Thailand. This is why it is inadvisable to wear clothing that does not easily show perspiration.
  12. The source is nothing more than an unsubstantiated claim that relies on an a claim first printed in the Washington Examiner.
  13. I have read the link. It relies on the original Washington Examiner opinion piece that emphasized the word "reportedly". Which news services have provided actual substantive information and not an opinion from the Washington Examiner, a media outlet that is usually very critical of Democrat Party representatives and policy. All of the news sources I have seen are relying on the Washington Examiner opinion piece. Please enlighten me.
  14. Stop it. The fact is that these buffoons were riding around in a mostly tourist zone disturbing people. The hotels and tourists complained and action was taken. Your argument is that no action should have been taken because some Thais may or may not drive around without a muffler and it is weak. Another wrongful act does not excuse intentional dangerous activity. The drivers were not just making noise, but driving like idiots scaring people. The cops could not get them for that because they did not see the wrongful activity occur, but they could get them for disturbing the peace.
  15. More lies and invented fact? There is nothing substantive in the claim. It is just guttersniping.
  16. You are not sure of anything and are posting innuendo and unsubstantiated claims. Your link does not state that Oprah was paid $1 million. It is unfortunate that you have a limited comprehension of the English language. The article uses the term "Reportedly" . the word is used when someone wishes to make a negative comment, and has no evidence to support the negative claim. Your claim is based upon a twisted interpretation of expenditures for digital media advertising. All campaigns paid for digital media activity.
  17. Daddy is not doing the filings. Are you really this ignorant of regulatory filings?
  18. When you have experience with regulatory filings for large multinational companies, and/or in filling out the lengthy and detailed questionnaire and supplying the supporting documentation, please come back and criticize.
  19. Do you think the horrific videos now coming out of Gaza may have had an impact? For years, it was known that Hamas tortured and murdered other Gazans. It wasn't just the affiliation of some senior members with with smuggling gangs, the use of children as shields, or the irregular tossing of teenagers off of a building roof. It's the depraved torture of fellow Arabs by Hamas. Some of the videos are ghastly. (They are available on Instagram). In the past month, the flow has increased, and people who Hamas said were killed by Israel, are shown being brutally interrogated by known Hamas officials.
  20. Vance has a mean streak to him. He's a man with a massive chip on his shoulder with a lot of internal anger. The Trump inner circle will never accept him for the simple reason that his background will always keep him an outsider to their culture. This isn't a swipe at the Trump people, but reality. It's like asking the Boston Brahmin class to embrace a Paddy from Dorchester. It isn't going to be a sincere embrace. No different than when a foreigner moves to Thailand. Even though fluent in the language and culturally sensitive, the foreigner will always be a farang and never Thai.
  21. Rubbish. You obviously have not been around the country.
  22. The PM was appointed on 16 August 2024. Less than than 3 months has passed. I don't believe thatthe accountants request for additional time is unreasonable. Have you ever done statutory filings for a large multinational? The accountants spend much of the year gathering updated information.
  23. The electorate was not voting for your shopping list. They were voting against the status quo. Many perceive themselves as hurting and want fast results. Yes SS deductions will be reduced, but so too will SS payouts. Someone has to pay for social security and the 40-65 year olds are going to be in for a shock if the changes are made. Tax cuts mean less revenues and much of the budget (73%) is consumed by mandatory spending payments for social services and really cannot be touched. Almost 5% is on debt service, and if Trump runs up the budget deficit, which is what Republicans do, there won't be much that can be "cut". Of the remaining 22% of discretionary spending, more than half is spent on defense and veterans benefits.
  24. You are ignoring the reality that many of the election wins were by razor thin margins. These are the regions likely to return to the Democrats in the midterm elections when incumbent governments typically get shellacked at the polls.
  25. Spay and neuter does work. The problem is when people do not cooperate and when new dogs are dumped. Spayed and neutered dogs do not reproduce and will still chase off other dogs.
