New Bus Routes Link Bangkok Airports to Pattaya and Hua Hin
thecyclist replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I assume this will be in addition to the already existing Roong Rueang Suvarnabhumi to Jomtien route. Not much of an improvement, as Roong Rueang runs every hour. -
Have you considered changing your name to captain retard.? It would be more reflective of the inner workings/or lack thereof, of your cognitive potential.

Tourist Brawl in Phuket Sparks Debate on Visitor Behavior - video
thecyclist replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Very little, if anything, to do with 'free' visas, unless you make visas so expensive that only his holiness, the supreme jerk Elongus Maximus Mask and Co can visit, like 20 mil for a one day visa. If you can afford a week in the overpriced pearl, you can afford to pay for a visa, and then do the fighting with a visa. A fighter without visa and a fighter with a visa, same fists, same punches, same brainless skulls. IQ tests before you are aloud in might help. By the way, the locals fight, and stab and shoot, a lot more than visitors. -
Thailand Ranked 106th in English Proficiency Out of 116 Countries
thecyclist replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes you can tell how long they have been in the (farang) business by their English proficiency. I stay away from the ones whose English is very good. Too "contaminated". -
Thailand Ranked 106th in English Proficiency Out of 116 Countries
thecyclist replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Singapore Philippines. Malaysia, are, of course way, way ahead of Thailand (the advantages of having been colonized by an English speaking nation. But Vietnam, really? They have even greater problems learning English, just like most farangs find Vietnamese even harder than Thai. -
With the US of a.. holes gone full fascist, it's best to boycott American goods. I have started checking labels, and, as much as possible, steer clear of US products. Buy Canadian /European / Australian etc, give Trumpland the finger.

Is border run visa illegal?
thecyclist replied to Valuepeace's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They don't issue visas at the border. Only embassies/consulates can do that. -
Outdated 2-5pm Alcohol Ban Faces Renewed Criticism in Thailand
thecyclist replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The ban might have been introduced in 1972, but it either wasn't passed or not enforced until the first Thaksin administration, when minister Purachai, the pure moralist, put it on the books. In the eighties and nineties you could drink around the clock. Buddhist holidays and election days excepted. -
Pattaya's Pedestrian Perils: Crumbling Walkways and Traffic Chaos
thecyclist replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
They should have warnings at all international airports : The rule of the jungle applies on Thai roads. Traffic is pretty chaotic all over SEA, but Siam is the only country where cars not only fail to slow down when pedestrians try to cross, god forbid stop, but actually speed up( plus flashing and honking) to signal to any potential "crosser" to cease and desist. -
Should I have my (mercury) amalgam fillings removed?
thecyclist replied to BangkokHank's topic in Health and Medicine
Composite fillings lasting 5 to 10 years? Rarely that long in my case. But my cavities are huge, they usually fall out after a year or two. -
WISE just shut me down!
thecyclist replied to PumpkinEater's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Can't you just give them the address of a relative? Do they actually check whether you are officially registered there? -

Thailand’s Destination Visa loophole that could cost you
thecyclist replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
That's in all likelihood not how it works, you could then avoid being taxed by leaving the country for 5 minutes. It's probably going to work like the idiotic tax clearance certificate used to work ages ago, before the most enlightened Thai administration in Thai history, the Anand government, scrapped it : more than 180 days in the country in a given calendar year required you to get a tax clearance from the revenue department before exiting the country, or you would not be allowed to leave. That was quite a pain in the behind back in the eighties. -
Phụ Quoc is alright, but certainly not the most amazing place in Asia, not even the most amazing place in Vietnam.

VOA for tourists doesn't exist anymore. It's visa exemption for limited number of countries or evisa, which usually takes 3 or 4 working days

Thai Olympic Boxing Gold Winner Jailed for Attempted Sexual Assault
thecyclist replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Money trumps the law. Come to think of it, Trump trumps the law. All these entitled jerks think the law is not for them. -
Wow, only 20 Baht. Are you sure. I have been bitten 4 times in Thailand (farang on bicycle makes Thai mutts furious), and got my rabies shots at various hospitals: if I remember it correctly, it ranged from 200 to 500 Baht. 20 Baht, they might as well do it for free. Will make sure I get bitten in Buriram next time.

Total crap. It never swings to the left in American politics. It swings from the middle to the right, and back, and this time to the far fascist right. There is a real left at American universities.
