  1. Ever since the start of the new on-line (and also when using the old) TM47 - 90 day reports, the e-mails from Immigration have gone into my Outlook Inbox. I applied earlier in the week to register for the new TM30 - house registration system, with no reply/response having been received I tried again today using the same data, to be told that I am already recognized. On checking the computer I found that Outlook is now redirecting Immigration e-mails into the junk folder. Just a word of warning, it may not happen to you, but if it does............
  2. Looks like he's trying to pick the bosses pocket
  3. Were you buying a new tank or exchanging an empty one for a full one and what size cylinder are we speaking about.
  4. Quite agree 3 bar codes and 1 QR code on each bill do you pick and chose or is there a specific one to use. Bit like when I tried to update bankbook today, failed "could not read bar code" it said, what bar code said I, it's a magnetic strip.
  5. Easy, the junk mail goes to the same place as legit mail here, wherever that is, very little of any mail arrives at my house.
  6. 1. It is not a new law but an application of existing rules. Extract from Thai Revenue Department Personal Income Tax, last updated Nov 2020. “Resident” means any person residing in Thailand for a period or periods aggregating more than 180 days in any tax (calendar) year. A resident of Thailand is liable to pay tax on income from sources in Thailand as well as on the portion of income from foreign sources that is brought into Thailand. 7. Was informed by 3 armed and uniformed Immigration Officers, who had stopped me in the street, that carrying a copy of the passport was not acceptable (as it could be faked), that all foreigners must carry their passports on them when away from home, and I was only 9km away in my local town, I proffered along with the photocopy my Pink Card and Driving License they were waved away with the comment means nothing to us. Wrong place wrong time, I think they'd just been checking a hotel for foreign residents and failed to find one, so homed in on me.
  8. One with ATM/Debit Card and limited balance to reduce exposure to fraud, second to hold the balance of your money to be transferred when required, could also be a higher interest account and used for Immigration or even a Foreign Currency account.
  9. Not only a TIT thing. I remember looking the jobs section in a national paper in the UK late 70's or early 80's. A London council were advertising for street cleaners/refuse collectors (correct terminology at the time) and required them to be qualified to Degree Level.
  10. Exactly, what new rule, read the underlined extract from Thai Revenue Personal Income Tax, this doesn't mean they will tax Expat's just that the option is there and has been for a while. Personal Income Tax | The Revenue Department (English Site) (rd.go.th) 1.Taxable Person Taxpayers are classified into “resident” and “non-resident”. “Resident” means any person residing in Thailand for a period or periods aggregating more than 180 days in any tax (calendar) year. A resident of Thailand is liable to pay tax on income from sources in Thailand as well as on the portion of income from foreign sources that is brought into Thailand. A non-resident is, however, subject to tax only on income from sources in Thailand. Date of last amendment 23.11.2020
  11. and hope the problem goes away
  12. Same as when they write about Thai tax, even though reality is 150k exempt, next 150k 5%, and so on until we get to 35% for income above 4M, it is more sensational to say all tax is 35% and worry the "sht" out of people who don't now.
  13. Thai Revenue page is in English too, I've used the info in the past for tax returns and found it to be correct. The link you provided is "Not Found"
  14. They told me when I got it they don't keep records long term, could have tried another office but with my father, wife and 2 little kid's in tow went Retirement with 800k in bank for ease.
  15. Think it was my 2nd renewal, at Chiang Khan (previous one was Nong Khai) I was asked for it. The local Ampoe office had misfiled it and therefore could not provide a copy. Effectively I was told to move to Retirement or ....., as they could not issue marriage extension without it. Not the first I've hear of, my friend had to provide 2 witnesses on application. The village head and a different 2 witnesses for the home visit.
  16. Check in here Double Tax Agreement (DTA) | The Revenue Department (English Site) (rd.go.th)
  17. I believe the only expats that need to show only 65k deposits are from US, UK and Aus as they cannot get income statements from their embassy. All others should be using proven income via their embassies, witness the thread in here about changes to the Norwegians income route.
  18. Wasn't aware that Kasikorn could do that, sure I've seen reports to the contrary, but I stand or in my case sit corrected. Will maybe investigate further, but my local Kasikorn (after they shut the Lotus's branch) is always queued out the door, last time I went there it took me 75 minutes to get served.
  19. I understand that the US already taxes it's citizens on all worldwide income, maybe Thailand want to do the same with all Tax Residents, Thai and Foreign, they do not have the resources or the clout to tax Thai's in foreign countries on their incomes there.
  20. Don't see any of that in the Thai Revenue Department documents on-line under "Personal Income Tax". Can you please provide a link to the relevant page/section.
  21. and the associated problem with getting 12 proof's of Foreign Transfer from banks (or maybe multiple banks if you use Wise and they don't deposit directly into your bank) due to only Bangkok Bank using FTT identifiers, also in the case of Bangkok Bank timing annual statements, ordering it early enough to be in time for your renewal, but also to be still valid when you go.
  22. Smartypants says your missing 2 months, 3 + 5 + 2 = 10, or did when I went to school long time ago, will admit we did go decimal at one point.
  23. I would concur with that. Just make sure your office is not one of the few who are still insisting on 3 months before.
  24. Not complicated at all, if you have 800k in the bank however it gets there, Revenue Dept will not be interested as they are only looking at "new" money coming into the country. If your living off savings in country same.
