  1. Maybe it was an annual "Visa" extension and they forgot the stamp in his passport.
  2. Any form of barrier will be adapted by the locals to ensure that they can still cross there, as they do when police barricade off a U-Turn, the concrete blocks "walk", nobody knows how or when but they do.
  3. No option, none are as tall as me ????
  4. Tell me please where I can find that stated in the document you appended. Also did you note how old the guide is, September 2015, and it hasn't been updated in more than a year.
  5. I update my book quite regularly (at least once a month), while it does print everything it has a habit every now and again of overprinting entries making them illegible, therefore always get an official statement for immigration nowadays.
  6. Just checked Wise rates today (10 Aug 23) 44.7898 THB/GBP, 10 Aug 22 was 42.6788, don't understand your assertion down 10% Cautionary note - it has been reported in here that once you start using agents you may find it difficult to return to doing it yourself, never tried agents myself so can't honestly say.
  7. Save your money and open it yourself, you've a yellow book so should not need a letter from Immigration, I opened a second BB account last year with just my passport and yellow book, make sure you refuse the "mandatory" insurance, it's not. As an aside I opened two additional accounts with SCB 1 month ago, been here since 2005, and it was all too difficult, until I produced the yellow book.
  8. Them all, by her indoors, doesn't like the smell of alcohol. By the bars or otherwise none, I've been a good boy, don't get into fights only fall over a lot (maybe why nobody has landed a punch yet).
  9. Bet you haven't looked in the building sites, etc, Burmese, Laos, Cambodians, Vietnamese, are all foreigners and one building site raid could easily fill all those vans
  10. Going by memory the only office that does it, I think is Jomtien, no record is kept of the check, I don't see why your wife can't do it (like 90 day reports) she'll need your passport and the "appointment" chit you were given but........
  11. Never been asked for that, and I arrived 2005, but I have had visits by local police at Immigration request, and they took photo of them and me in front of sister-in-law's house not mine (they are next to each other but not connected)
  12. From what I've read here I don't believe there is any actual link between the 90 day and the TM30 databases, so quite possible they could show different addresses. I know it's the practice there, make you return following day, but don't understand why. All 7 offices I have used do retirement stamps on the spot, and I've never had one of them update the 90 day report at the same time, even when it was due the following week, all I got was a reminder that it was nearly due.
  13. AFAIK, only 3 Embassies/Consulates (US, AUS & UK) decided to withdraw the letters, as far as UK was concerned the reasoning was that it did not have the resources nor the ability to certify the truthfulness of the submitted pensions information, and therefore could no longer certify the correctness of the information on the Confirmation of Income letters. I know/knew a few individuals who were providing false information to their embassy in order to get their letters.
  14. Not a fact in reality it's nowhere near true, 1. Those that retained 800k in an account year round were not affected in the slightest 2. Those that used some of the 800k after 3 months could use only half, resulting in bringing in only 400k for the next extension instead of the full 800k 3. Those that chose to use an agent to provide the financials, whether having the funds or not, did not need to either. There's probably more but at the moment I can't think of them.
  15. That would be a spend of 1,000,000 THB per month, to go along with the 1,000,000,000 USD invested in a Thai bank, after all foreigners are multi-billionaires, aren't we? ????
  16. If you've enough money to hand over a loophole will be created for you.
  17. Have got similar problem with deliveries, UK tax letter dated early April and a local invoice early May not delivered until 17 July, 2 days after I spoke with an ex-local gov official about lack of deliveries, co-incidence. Received total of 12 items (local and international), 5 of which weren't mine, there are another dozen items still outstanding to my knowledge, and probably growing. Going by comments by others I would expect the police report to cost maybe 500 B, but what to do after that???, will it change anything? As regards theft, probably not, as the mail did arrive, but it would be dismissal in the UK.
  18. By using them (implying more than one) instead of he or her, get one multiple salaries. ????
  19. the time doesn't matter it's the fact that you "woke" up that is important.
  20. Only document I remember being submitted was a statement from me on what salary payments I received during the year. They did not question the allowances I included for wife and children.
  21. If you do that your just throwing money away, if that's what you want to do go ahead. It's so simple to do if you follow the guidance in the link provided by @freeworld, when I was working it took only 10/15 minutes to do, and a further 15 minutes in the tax office, to come out with a tax receipt. I assume you have a tax ID already, not only is tax payable on direct income (e.g. salary) but on bank savings which is a 15% tax withholding.
  22. Very true it means that every car needs a width longer than a car length to be able to park nose/tail in, therefore useless in a car park as you indicate. Could be very useful though in private parking with limited maneuvering space, where you can drive straight in and turn the car to face out to the road. Reversing out onto a road is significant source of mishaps.
  23. Both my private pension companies (one monthly and one annual) refused to deposit my pensions payments into my Wise account, only one gave a reason which was "Wise are a financial institution not a bank".
  24. Assume from the refusal to transfer stamps into the new passport that your still registered as residing in Trang, you need to submit a TM30 to Phuket Immigration to show you are now at a Phuket address, if you want to have them do anything for you.
