90 day report whilst using an agent.
foreverlomsak replied to IvorBiggun2's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Until you use your "fixer" again for the next extension, then it's back to change address again, and hope that your local office doesn't get smart and ask why you live here but register elsewhere. A friend moved from Pattaya, changed address and completed first year extension no problem, when he applied for 2nd extension was told "go back to Pattaya agent and get your extension there". -

I am on the 800k in the bank, and well aware of the conditions. In a few weeks I will start to get UK State Pension, this combined with the private pensions fall a little short of the 65k, so instead of having 800k sitting in bank account and bringing in spending money I thought I'd explore the income route, only issue I could see was proving origin of the funds (i.e. foreign), where I came in with the questions. This has turned out to be an academic exercise for me at the end of the day, as apparently my IO will not allow me to go the income route, but maybe we have broken loose some info that may help somebody else. Thanks to all that contributed.

yes it's either or, 65k per month or 800k in the bank combination or combo is when you can only bring in say 40k pm, then you need 320k+ in the bank e.g. 40k pm x 12 months = 480k + 320k = 800k the only time you will need both concurrently is if you are changing from 1 to the other, say this years extension is based on money in the bank, you need to prove you have maintained 800k for 3 months after, and 400k thereafter until you increase to 800k 2 months before, meanwhile you will need to be able to show 12 months of 65k income for your subsequent extension. not all IO's accept all options, apparently mine will only accept the 800k in the bank, they will not accept 65k per month or the combo approach.

Depends on your total income, all streams are added together, if your entitled to it currently you don't pay on the Personal Allowance of 12,570 GBP after that 20%. Check Rates and allowances for Income Tax - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) If you have income in the UK, it is subject to tax, I'm not aware that the UK supports pay tax in one country or another, if you can prove that I would like to know where to get details. Be aware that Thai Taxation rules contained in the following link allows for it to be taxed as you bring it in. Personal Income Tax | The Revenue Department (English Site) (rd.go.th) There does appear to a general understanding that if you bring in your money outside the Thai tax year it was earned in, it cannot be touched, apart from an HSBC document asserting that, I've seen nothing to verify it.

Outgoing PM Prayut congratulates incoming PM Srettha
foreverlomsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
exactly what I was thinking -
OK, pedantically, Wise take your GBP (or other currency) calculate how much you are to get and advise/instruct their Thai agent (Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn, or whatever) to send XX,XXX THB to your account, unless you specifically request that no conversion be done before arrival in your account (eg Foreign Currency Account).

so I if I read correctly for me that would entail a 7 hour bus journey to Bangkok trip across Bangkok to the Kasikorn ITC (wherever that is and ITC sounds too much like Immigration IDC for my liking) obtain the offending letter back across Bangkok to the bus station a 5/6 hour return journey, depending on Bangkok traffic and if I took the advantage of staying a night or 2, would probably F@#$ up my TM30 as well. brilliant
