  1. Perhaps you might consider that the infection rate is increasing due to unvaccinated low information types getting infected. Here's a hint: the US is highly vaccinated for Polio, but the Polio infection rate is increasing.
  2. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#rates-by-vaccine-status People who were unvaccinated had a greater risk of testing positive for COVID-19 and a greater risk of dying from COVID-19 than people who were vaccinated overall (see below for the most recent rates). People who were vaccinated with a primary series and two additional or booster doses had lower death rates, followed by people who received one additional or booster dose, compared with those without an additional or booster dose. All vaccinated groups had lower risk of dying from COVID-19 compared with people who were unvaccinated.
  3. You seem confused. Your chart shows cumulative cases. Note that in the US, where many are vaccinated, the rate of new infections is low.
  4. Neither Safari nor Firefox got those buttons to give me the list of countries, I will try other browsers, other platforms, etc. Update: Microsoft Edge did the trick.
  5. https://www.covid19infovaccines.com/en-posts/to-what-extent-can-vaccines-prevent-people-from-getting-infected-with-covid-19 Poor wording. Vaccination reduces transmission of Covid. However, it's not 100% effective. If you disagree, please link to a study showing that vaccination has 0% effectiveness in stopping transmission.
  6. It took me an hour at Suvarnabhumi to get a taxi into Bangkok. If the TAT numbers materialize, good luck getting a taxi from the airport.
  7. I have done EVisas for Vietnam before, but the EVisa application is a bit different from before. There are “radio” buttons for some fields. Unfortunately, clicking on a button brings up a text box with the words “Choose Nationality”, for example, but clicking on the test does nothing. In other words, there is no way to insert your nationality, or complete any field that has radio buttons. Anyone complete an Evisa app lately?
  8. Vaccination reduces the spread of Covid.
  9. I am agreed. There are better ways for the US to confirm it’s’ support of Taiwan without stirring up more problems.
  10. Yeah, my flight out was delayed by 90 minutes, and I almost missed my connection to Singapore. And there were loads of elderly Farangs with young Thai wives at the airport. If you are familiar with the 3 day rule, you probably can’t imagine having a Thai lady for years on end.
  11. I'm in Udon Thani at the moment. The number of elderly Farangs accompanied by relatively younger Thai ladies here is fairly amazing. I guess that particular bargirl retirement strategy seems to be working, for some.
  12. One very common retirement strategy for all Thai ladies is to have kids who will support her when they are adults. In most cases, the female children will be the prime support, as males are not reliable. I have noticed when ladyboys come out of the closet, the mothers are supportive, the fathers not so much. I am wondering if the mothers are thinking that a ladyboy will support her down the road, whereas a son may not. For some bargirls, family support can be as big a drag on earnings as a Thai boyfriend. I know ladies who send 50K baht a month back home.
  13. Of course, one very common retirement strategy is not retire. I know ladies over 50 still working bar.
  14. Still more people i know coming down with a mystery disease. Sick for a week+.
  15. The odds of late entrants surviving in those conditions are small, unless they provide a unique product or service.
  16. I can be a little more specific: don't open a restaurant next to 5 other restaurants. Or a massage shop. Or a salon.
  17. "Bar girl retirement strategies" seems unbelievable?
  18. The #1 method is to discover a service or product that people need, but cannot obtain. Ladies have lots of free time to think about this in the bar between customers. I did that, started a company, and its now a billion dollar enterprise.
  19. I'm not referring to TF ladies, but rather ladies who never actually meet customers, all their interaction is virtual. How would anyone here know how much money they make?
  20. This discussion begs the question of how exactly posters here talk to ladies who work exclusively online.
  21. I am referring to countries with accurate statistics, many of which have been posted here repeatedly. BKK Brian reminded me of available statistics in Thailand. At this point, your position should be “thanks for the information “, rather than trolling.
  22. Not all day, it’s all night. And yes, lots of online BS. If they do Thai Friendly, as well, then they have to play telephone in the afternoon and evening. TF is notorious for flakey customers, guys who set up dates even though they aren’t in Pattaya or even in Thailand.
  23. You are writing theoretically. The reality is that dealing online with Farangs ties up the lady from midnight until morning, due to time difference. Then her Thai boyfriend is awake, and she can’t sleep much.
