Actually, it may not be their business but it most likely will affect them...favorably. If the UK lowers its tariffs without special agreements. then under world trade rules it has to grant those reductions to all members of the WTO. One of those members is the EU.

True. So it will be easier for EU to sell in UK. Thank you ????

But there is no reciprocity; EU will keep its tariff for UK wanting to sell in EU, same as with other countrie on WTO.

I am impressed with the progress expats are doing in Thailand!
First TM30 solved and now no more dual pricing!  //

    Impressed? Progress?... Why? Where?

We are in the Pattaya forum:

    - TM30 was not required there for expats, as long as you didn't move your home address

    - Nong Nooch was already offering for years the Thai price if you had a Thai Driving License

So basically nothing changed ! :ermm:

// as this will do little to stem the loss of tourists compared to the damage newly announced compulsory Health Insurance will cause.

For most tourists it will be around $20 for this insurance. I doubt about a big damage...

Thais think it is their right to screw the rich and wealthy foreigners!  They will never give it up!

In some national parks, the dual-pricing is a way to limit the number of visitors to preserve the park and Nature.

The best way (as it has always been) would be for the EU to stop farting about, stop worrying about fish that don't belong to it, finally adopt a truly level playing field and then agree on a trade deal that causes least damage to each side.

The best way for UK only !

Sorry, but no reasons for EU to give UK everything it wishes after it decided to leave the club.

UK wants a hard Brexit. EU can't change that. So let's go for a sad hard WTO Brexit. ????

// A spouse includes another person who: you were in a relationship with that was registered under a prescribed state or territory law. although not legally married to you, lived with you on a genuine domestic basis in a relationship as a couple.

Is it your own definition ?

    Cambridge : a person's husband or wife

Collins : Someone's spouse is the person they are married to

Dictionary : either member of a married pair in relation to the other; one's husband or wife

Do you know it is Immigration Jomtien which decided to not accept the L.o.Income from the Austrian Consulate anymore?

Or the Austrian Consulate which decided to not issue anymore for French citizens?

Immigration has nothing to do with that. I really think it's a 100% decision of the Bangkok French Embassy. Since they have a monthly temporary office in Pattaya, there is no more reason to use services of Austrian Consulate in Pattaya. (They continue to use their office though ????)

Isn't that cheating the Thai government? They probably won't bother to check the veracity of the income documents. Someone should report this.

Maybe you should check your infos before reporting this ;). I already wrote in post #16 that the Embassy Letter from the French Embassy is in English, and pretty sure it's the same for other countries listed above; English or both languages.

Not only me. The Austrians, Belgians, Dutch, French, Germans, using the services of the Austrian Consulate in Pattaya are "lucky" as well.

Not French. They must use the French Embassy in Bangkok, or the temporary offices organised by this Embassy in main cities, like Pattaya.

(True that French used to use Austrian Embassy in Pattaya, but it was until many years ago already)

They never said that. If that is so they should say so that one Has to be Married  . What are we, Mind Readers ?

I don't know from which country you are, but as a non native speaker in English I always learned that Spouse implies mariage...??

First replies from Google all give a similar US definition:

Spouse Law and Legal DefinitionSpouse means a married person. It can be person's lawfully married husband or wife.

Of course it doesn't... because the article is about EU. :whistling:

At the moment UK is still in the EU. ????

of which uk is still a fully paid up member

    Uh?

I think that UK is already out of EU, but must respect EU rules and fees until end of this year.

See The 27 member countries of the EU on the EU official website. No more UK, but this: "The United Kingdom withdrew from the European Union on 31 January 2020."

And don't you remember this? :

    zzz.jpg

  11. I usually wake up about 5:30, with first light of the day. Sun rise in Pattaya is just before 6am.

I don't really understand people going for a run at 4am when it's still dark night??

Even worse when it is for a bike ride at 4am. Seems rather dangerous to me...

I would be also curious to know at what time people go to sleep. I bet that if they wake up at 3am then they didn't go to bed at the end of the movie near midnight... ????
