    Ever since this covid malarky came to town and the first sign of booze bans I now always have enough beer, wine and spirits in the storeroom to keep me lubricated for atleast 1 month. but yes, a snap ban would catch out many.

    With 120min run time per battery they swapped in fresh batteries 5 times. I assume they were not carrying those batteries themselves so is it really a "record" as it was done with support (fossil fueled boats and jet ski's) ?.

    Nope. Only reason he copped jail time is he is a repeat offender. but that is not the question I was replying to.

    You do realize than when booze sale bans are announced people generally stock up prior.

    The girlfriends brother. he is doing 18 months for drink driving, also copped a 20k fine and licence suspended for 5 years.

    Bt.2914.72 per day per person. not an unrealistic spend IMHO but I doubt all Thai's would spend it though.

    Sometimes it is too hard to find local workers. We have an ongoing staff shortage and impossible to recruit capable locals, the ones that do start rarely last a week so we rely on Labour hire companies who supply Cambodian workers to fill the shortage.

    I do the Chonburi to Phuket run semi regularly, 10hrs flat. Leave home at 10pm, rarely see an accident of any significance.

    Never seen it to be honest, I drive 1500km a week Chonburi/Rayong/Bangkok. Sounds like you need to move away from Nakorn Nowhere if they drive that bad there.

    Always chuckle at the 7 dangerous day malarky they roll out. their own statistics show there is less road deathes during this period than a normal 7 days. <deleted> eeeejuts.

    2020 was cancelled, 2021 happened albeit with heavy restrictions.

    I suspect there is approx 70 million people in Thailand that would answer the same as you and the survey is bogus. 2020 Songkran was cancelled and substitution days were scheduled later in the year. Not a chance did people spend more in 2020 than what they will this year.

    Thanks for confirming the RTP has different depts with different tasks they are to perform. Kinda ridiculous to suggest the depts for Prostitution and Human Trafficking should be out patrolling the roads and motorways for drunks and speeders. Take all kinds though.

    RTP has different divisions that are tasked to different jobs. Did you not see the threads about traffic police being ordered to mobilize ?

    Yeah the moan is I can only visit for the weekend. Leave home 10pm Friday night, arrive 8am. spend Saturday and Sunday with them then drive back Sunday night Leaving there at 10pm to get to work on Monday at 8am. I wish I had the free time to spend a week with each but I do not.
