Am I right in thinking if you get to your hotel after 6PM that needs another night in quarantine, add the fifth night and a 3rd test in a week to go with 3 nights banged up and they can kiss real tourist arrivals goodbye for now.

I think you answered your own question, 3 pcr tests in 7 days is over the top and most tourists will not take the risk of a positive ending up in quarantine which their $50k insurance will not pay for.

3k on top of 1500 seems reasonable for transport, PCR test and meals, PCR test alone is at least 2k anywhere. You are right to say day 5 test is crazy, people just wont bother turning up for it.

what happens if you paid into it for years then the company goes bust just when you need them, just happened to a few companies this year already. At the level of premiums they ask for better to save it up and self insure IMO

Same happened to me at Krungsri after giving them the tax info. Had to go back, they said they never realised I wanted the tax stopped! Also took 6 months to get the tax back after a few phone calls. They claimed I had not handed in all the paper work which was untrue. You have to persist.
