  1. Do you have a smart phone or laptop? Just Google pandemic. Very simple and you won't have to wait at all.
  2. 6,382,620 deaths so far. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ You can use this site if you have anymore confusion over the seriousness of the pandemic.
  3. Reasonable. Looks great though.
  4. Dressed fairly nice and order a drink by the pool. You won't have a problem. You'll even be able to use There big pool towels. They'll be happy to have some business. Some hotels offer day rates. Nice if you have small children or need to take a deuce.
  5. That and the virus is killing millions of people and disrupting economies everywhere.
  6. Great person to give advice on there experience with DHL. Like I said, your hilarious.
  7. Good idea to keep up with your boosters. Unfortunately booster shots are difficult to get in many parts of Issan. I'd go now if a MRNA booster was available within 200 kilometers. A few minutes of your time beats 10 days of feeling ill or worse. That's all we have until the newer vaccines arrive. And being Thailand that'll probably be much longer than other countries especially with this government.
  8. I usually get a small refund which is nice when using Amazon.
  9. Plenty of other companies that are cheaper and less likely to have your shipments opened or unfairly taxed. Personally I choose not to use them along with many others. What service you choose is up to you.
  10. I don't think you understand. Don't follow thousands of complaints and advice. Use them, I could care less if you get fleeced.
  11. "Red flags up over lack of lifeguards on Phuket beaches" https://www.ttgasia.com/2018/03/27/red-flags-up-over-lack-of-lifeguards-on-phuket-beaches/ "Phuket’s haphazard lifeguard coverage flamed, comprehensive plan blanked" https://www.thephuketnews.com/phuket-haphazard-lifeguard-coverage-flamed-comprehensive-plan-blanked-67204.php
  12. No theres not. Perhaps at touristy Patong beach. You'll be hard pressed to find many lifeguards along the West Coast unless you count battered red flags as lifeguards. Best not to swim this time of year on the West coat of Phuket. Just let you know Stevini if you ever visit Thailand.
  13. Unless you are in front of a resort they don't have lifeguards peppered all over the hundreds of miles of beaches of Phuket. Especially during monsoon season when many of the beaches are deserted. Bad time to go if beaches are your thing, you'll be disappointed.
  14. Most Thai families have little or nothing left towards the end of the month. I'm lucky my wife is good with money. Hopefully instills it to our children.
  15. Looks great! How much did that cost? Great excuse to drive to Samui!
  16. I wonder what the difference would be by not using a humidifier? Where can I get some seeds or a starter plants to begin?
  17. Freaking religious right supreme court. Good job Trump.
  18. I've bought Hyundai and paid extra for the machines at HomePro because they'll honor the warranty and pay to send it to Bangkok to have them repaired. Make sure to use the filters as the silt or minerals in the water will gunk up the pumps inside. Lazada is cheaper though. I just find power washers tend to breakdown easily. We've got 3 and all have been repaired at one time or another, under warranty fortunately. Power washers are great around the house!
  19. Definitely better spent on spading all these soi dogs. Feel sorry for people living near her feeding haunts. Probably littered with dog feces and begging soi dogs.
  20. Looks as DHL strikes again. You'll need a reciept for repairs or similar for warranty work and bring it to customs along with the original bill of sale. Seems as they are charging fees for a new pair of hearing aids. If you have time go to the customs house and sort it out in person. Bring your wife or someone else who speaks Thai. It worked out for me with a similar delivery from DHL. AVOID DHL!
  21. Here's a lengthy thread on more complaints. "DHL / Customs scam ?" Knock yourself out disagreeing with the others who usually have a bad experience with DHL.
  22. DHL will almost always be flagged. Wise to use regular post or FedEx. Theres many threads on this. Pretending to know what you are talking about is hilarious.
  23. It's usually items sent from friends or relatives overseas that occasionally get inspected and held for import taxes and duties. I find DSL almost always gets flagged, try to avoid them. Like gearbox mentioned Amazon includes duty and fees. Once they held an Amazon delivery of electric tooth brushes saying they were medical equipment. I spent a week and 3000 baht getting a dentist recommendation for the toothbrushes. Sometimes it's just immigration trying to weasle some money out of the system.
  24. "The 'worst variant' is here" By Eliza Mackintosh, CNN Updated 1819 GMT (0219 HKT) July 13, 2022 https://edition.cnn.com/2022/07/13/world/coronavirus-newsletter-intl-07-13-22/index.html
