  1. Roughly, 0.03% of the population die on the roads each year. I know that is, obviously, too much but your wife has a much better chance of surviving her trip and assisting her career than she has of being killed while travelling to the destination. By the way, did she embark on this career after you married her or were you married knowing that she had a serious career and that she could not spend her life and career worrying whether you approve of everything that her career entailed?
  2. You want to! You're considering faking covid to stop her trip!
  3. No. that was a suggestion by someone else. He has never said he "want's to fake covid". He acknowledged it as an idea He clearly suggested that he thought that it was a good idea.
  4. No one has suggested that Thailand's roads (that your wife uses every day anyway) are perfectly safe. Some of us are suggesting that maybe 99.97% of road users, out of the 69,000,000 population, do not get killed on the roads.
  5. I don't believe he is. He's showing concern, possibly justified. He's certainly not controlling her. He sure is trying to control her (and her career!) as much for his well-being as hers!
  6. Yes, Mr Derek, you need to get your priorities right, also. She is not going on a life-threatening trip.
  7. Making yourself sound as though you're just a selfish curmudgeon now!
  8. That's just your opinion that these (very infrequent) trips that are good for her career, are "needless, trivial, pointless and inefficient".
  9. ...and she faces the possible wrath of her employer and colleagues because of a selfish old man!
  10. Very unlikely that he could make such demands on her employer.
  11. Well, yeah, but if she gets killed, it's effectively the end of my life too. Sounds as though you're being selfish, there, you're actually worried about yourself! But, statistically, the chances of her being killed are very low, she probably undertakes way more risky things in her normal everyday life.
  12. Nowhere does that ad mention that it's in Oppo, in fact, the specifications, described clearly in the info, state "No brand" but glad you seem to be getting a refund.
  13. Old man with young man here in thaild also is normal.. It is seen here but, no, it is not "normal".
  14. "Rear ending is the number one..." Hugely ironic given the two victims in this accident!
  15. "the Yaris driver was driving without due attention to what was going on ahead". What was going on ahead was irrelevant considering that he was pushed into the oncoming traffic by the Honda. "the Pick up driver is doing what so many do here and driving in the righthand lane when he should on the left unless overtaking". He wasn't overtaking a vehicle in the left lane? How could you know that?
  16. driver was making turn right at this coordinates 15.237751, 104.999295 Thank you for confirming that there were no unbroken white lines or zebra crossing markings which is what I posted.
  17. "I am generalizing". Well, now you are! Your original comment contained no hints that you were posting an off-topic, Thai-bashing generalisation!
  18. No, Sukhumvit Road only has one Soi 3 (Soi Nana Nua). So you're claiming that on one continuous road the sub-sois suddenly go from being, for example, Sukhumvit 149 with the next one being Sukhumvit Soi 1 again? Really? The next soi? If you say so!
  19. I use "only" the Pattaya forum and thats where i found it .. look again "I use "only" the Pattaya forum..." Really? This is the Bangkok forum but you're here so what you posted is not exactly correct! Regardless, how many Sukhumvit Soi 3s do you think Sukhumvit Road has?
  20. If the owners are not dead but the amulets are being traded, then the amulets are not lucky. Obviously, they are not really lucky but the fact that they are being traded does not mean that the people selling them do not consider them to be "lucky".
  21. Sure it does. This is a simple sketch of what that road looks like from above. But not everyone has the ability to perceive spacial relations by looking a pictures. So don't feel bad. What you showed in your "simple sketch" does not show zebra crossing markings, which cross roads from kerb to kerb, they do not run parallel to the road! Neither does the photo show unbroken white lines that the Yaris was being driven across. That you chose to make them unbroken in your simple but inaccurate sketch means nothing.
