  1. It's you that doesn't understand! It was 97% of actively publishing climate scientists, not 97% of all climate scientists.
  2. Sorry I got a wrong link in, the right one comes here: https://climate.nasa.gov/faq/17/do-scientists-agree-on-climate-change/ Exactly, the right link that proves my point! 97% of a selected group, not "97% of all the worlds scientists"... "Yes, the vast majority of actively publishing climate scientists – 97 percent – agree that humans are causing global warming and climate change". All of the worlds scientists are not "actively publishing climate scientists".
  3. Read here: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/nov/18/the-forgotten-oil-ads-that-told-us-climate-change-was-nothing What's that got to do with my comment which related to the usually inaccurately quoted "97% of scientists" claim? That's what I disputed, not necessarily whether climate change is a phenomenon.
  4. Why shouldn't they ask for you to pay the correct price?
  5. In the UK they, obviously, are responsible for the cash under their control but they were not made to make good shortfalls out of their own pockets (nor were they allowed to pocket "overs"), banks have provisions for those situations.
  6. For the record, this is a reply from Revolut in response to my asking them directly yesterday whether Revolut is available in Thailand...it is not...
  7. That would have a lot to do with it! 20°?
  8. What would be the significance of that?
  9. Of course he'll be courteous, he's charging you almost double the actual rate for electricity and everything definitely is not above board, it's illegal, even though many renters do it.
  10. I would suggest that you do it as I know, and have proved, that Revolut is not available currently for new accounts in Thailand based on a Thai phone number, not new accounts for people in Thailand pretending to be in the UK who may have UK credentials.
  11. perhaps she refers to the calls that you pay for to receive... I dont know how that works.... I've no idea what that means.
  12. Me neither.
  13. An argument that was debunked a long time ago. What you're referring to was a survey of selected scientists and the 97% figure was 97% of those who responded to that survey, that's all, not 97% of all the world's scientists.
  14. Only scientists paid by fossil fuel companies disagree. Disagree with what?
  15. Wow, the people in the UK have to "register" where they live... No, they don't have to but it can be advantageous to be on the electoral register.
  16. Does it maybe work with a UK mobile number, as provided by GiffGaff? That might also help with receiving an OTP via SMS. No idea but I'm guessing that if I did buy a UK phone number the app would want a UK address that I do not have.
  17. If you give a UK address, you can use a Thai number. Not given that option on the app (I don't have a UK address anyway) as the service is "not available in my region"! Neither is that option offered from Revolut's website, only a request for the Thai phone number which responds with 'Success!' and returns to the home page to log in but they do not provide the required 4-digit log in passcode.
  18. That does not work because Revolut is not yet available in Thailand! This is what happens... (1) Enter a Thai phone number and get 'Success'!... (2) Returns to the previous home page again with three options, 'Log in', 'Sign up' or 'Get a free account'. Log in (after receiving 'Success!') asks for a 4-digit passcode that hasn't been provided, Sign up obviously goes back to (1) as does 'Get a free account' Revolut is not yet available in Thailand registering with a Thai phone number as of five minutes ago. I have wanted to get a Revolut account for about four years now and I try every week in case it has been introduced...it hasn't.
  19. Really, if it was only 3 hours I would have returned all the money even if there was a signed contract. 3 hours is nothing. If I was really a roach though, I would have hidden behind the technicality and charged 3k baht for nothing. They charged that fee because they were angry at you for cancelling, not because they were inconvenienced. "They charged that fee because they were angry at you for cancelling" Me? They're not angry at me, I'm not the OP, try addressing your comments to the correct posters!
  20. This notice says "Not available in your region" (my region is Bangkok, Thailand), it does not say "Not available in your region unless you use a laptop"!
  21. I did, it presents a QR code which when read then states that it's not available in the region. Which link on the Google search facilitates opening a new Revolut account in Thailand?
  22. But the bill was still 220,000 baht for what? Not in Thailand, that was for a lung infection that he was hospitalised for in Hong Kong after he got home, the Pattaya bill was £190
  23. 220,00 baht for a checkup ?????? WOW !!! That was for three days hospitalisation in Hong Kong when he got home for a lung infection. The Pattaya bill was £190.
  24. It did. The bungee operator paid his local hospital bill and his insurers paid his Hong Kong medical bill for a lung infection.
