  1. I believe that reference in the link is addressed to those on an overstay who are attempting to get a further extension. I have had two very short overstays over the years (sorted on departure) and have never had an issue with getting further Non-O retirement extensions.
  2. So a single case tells you the stats of the Police....I don't think so So a single case tells you the stats of the police? I don't think so! I'd suggest, though, that for you to assert that 90% of reported criminal cases do not get any police attention is ridiculous. I'm ready with the humble pie if you've got stats, though.
  3. No one's "borrowed " my account and your assertion that I said that you put a definition on it was wrong.
  4. Don't tell me , tell Fishman1 , I just responded to his post , not the story , You asked a question suggesting 90% of the population have their case ignored by the RTP...on a forum...I responded that was not the case, particularly in this instance. I was correct.
  5. Who did nothing until she died. Except that this was the rest of that sentence that you omitted... "Investigation uncovered several clues indicating that what she had said was true. The three suspects were identified as Mr. Nin Wan Su, 48, from Hong Kong, Ms. Song Sian Li, 32, and Ms. Rou li, 27, with the latter two being from China".
  6. Doesn't that apply to 90% of the population ? No, that is not the case and that did not happen in this case, read the link.
  7. Suicide and arrests are not mutually exclusive.
  8. Read the link, there was an investigation under way, instigated as soon as she reported it!
  9. "Have you driven around Thailand much, and especially at night?" Have you? Those checkpoints haven't been seen in Bangkok for years.
  10. The link I have says that the Uncle was in Pattaya at the time of the beating From the OP link that I commented on... "The child’s uncle, Den, told the police that his nephew was beaten by a group that accused him of stealing gold and 3000 baht in cash. The boy’s cries were heard constantly around 2:00 AM Saturday. Den woke up and reportedly saw a group of four teenagers brutally hitting and slapping the boy, threatening him to return the stolen gold. Den then approached them and tried to stop the attack, saying that he would report them to the police".
  11. No, you told me that if I put a definition on it, then that was wrong. No, I did not write that.
  12. because the law is a total Sham .. remember only a few weeks ago the guy who was convicted of murder ...given Bail couldn't make this S##t up ..so what you think Sherlock long prison term Nope..death penalty Nope a few wais a month in temple ..better chance ..The law hear is virtually non existent..except if there is cash involved... Right. So the fact that the attackers have been arrested and charged means nothing? Why not wait and see the result of the investigation instead of just speculating about something that hasn't yet happened..."Sherlock"?
  13. Is that right, I've read the application form, have you? The TE FAQ doesn't suggest that rejection would be the case.
  14. Is that right, I've read the application form, have you? Is he wanting to get a TE visa?
  15. Apart from a Thailand Elite application, what other visa would be affected by an inconsequential 2-day overstay on leaving? None?
  16. The green lights appeared some time ago on new taxis with interior cameras and the emergency alarm on the inside B pillar, they are the ones that I find are the best to try. Unfortunately, some of the older taxis are getting the green lights now.
  17. It doesn't... "He urged tourists to call 1155 and send a picture of the registration plate. The tourist police will then contact the DLT so that the driver, if guilty, is appropriately sanctioned".
  18. The majority of taxis are rented from co-operatives, not owned, seizing them wouldn't be possible but if they did it wouldn't be a punishment for that driver.
  19. So the full extent of his efforts are to issue an edict? Classic Thai. No, that's not the full extent, as the OP very clearly stated... "He urged tourists to call 1155 and send a picture of the registration plate. The tourist police will then contact the DLT so that the driver, if guilty, is appropriately sanctioned". Classic Thaivisa poster.
