  1. I was not victim-blaming, my comment was directed at the members comments that I expected to see here bashing Thai banks and their facial recognition procedures. How do you propose to help her and others like her, do think for one moment that she reads this forum?!
  2. She installed a dodgy app on her phone that provided her biometrics to total strangers following an unsolicited call. Won't be long before the usual suspects are here blaming the banks' new facial recognition requirements, regardless of there being no connection.
  3. Sounds as though you're giving him an invitation!
  4. Chances are, from what was reported, was that it started off as nothing more than an (ill-considered) practical joke, you know, a prank! Yes, it was a cruel (practical) joke, initially, that cannot be condoned.
  5. Think you've slipped up on the odds there, the actual odds are 1 in 292 million, not 1 in 292!
  6. The 1JZ GE and GTE are very common engines, easy to get parts for and easily worked on locally. If yours doesn't have turbos, it's a GE, if it does it's a GTE, if it's a VVT-i it'll say so on the cam cover.
  7. The only reason it doesn't apply to foreigners is because the system hasn't the functionality yet It does have the function of allowing transfers over 50k without foreigners having to register for facial recognition.
  8. ...started by AN members!
  9. You don't think that would have been mentioned already if it was the case? If it was, the Ambassador wouldn't have turned up to a meeting about it.
  10. "...because of a lack of functionality..." What? If the amount is over the limit, they just have to alter the limit on the K+ app, no need to go to the branch. I've just altered my limit and made an over-50k transfer on the app. No facial requirement, no branch visit.
  11. Do your own research, it will help fill in your day. I have, that's why I asked the question! And thanks for the answer that I expected.
  12. A "90-day checkin" is not a term normally used in connection with permissions to stay, until you clarify what that means you won't get accurate answers. If you do mean the 90-day address report, that has already been answered.
  13. No thoughts or solutions are necessary, you don't have to do anything. 90-day reports are for advising IB of your location whilst in the country, if you're not in Thailand a report is not needed until 90 days after your return.
  14. The app actually introduces the awareness test as an alternative to the disabling of other apps. I doesn't, because the security apps on phones do not prevent access to Kasikorn's K+ app regardless of whether the awareness test is completed or not.
  15. That email has just been sent out again and Kasikorn has again confirmed that it does not apply to foreigner's accounts.
  16. "In line with the fears over scams, Kasikorn's app, like some of the other banking apps, had required --for the last few weeks-- the disabling of apps designed to read actions on the screen". Kasikorn's K+ has not required that for some time, the phone app operates even if the phone's security features are still activated. "They have abandoned this policy, and replaced it with a simple test for every app user". That has not replaced any K+ security features, it's simply an awareness test, nothing more and answering incorrectly has no consequences, it does not prevent access to the app. Other banks' apps have been showing the test also.
  17. I'm still waiting for anyone to be specific about "all these unexplained deaths".
  18. "...the family are not getting the answers as yet that they need". How could you know that?
  19. Why assume that when there are weed regulations? Weed is not regulated by alcohol laws.
  20. They don't have to close, they can open for non-alcoholic drinks.
  21. The heartbroken family of a loving, larger-than-life Australian teenager is currently engaged in a poignant mission to repatriate his body after his suspicious death in Thailand. Just because they say they think it is suspicious when they know nothing about the circumstances doesn't mean that it is...they're scrounging money, remember! Their opinion from Australia is irrelevant until the investigation into his death has been completed.
