  1. The victim did not go to Cambodia, nor open a mule account!
  2. Don’t crow yet. Appeal pending. I wasn't "crowing", I was just stating a fact as opposed to the false claim made by the poster to whom I was responding. There has been no appeal.
  3. She wanted a confidence-boosting tit job that would damage her new-found confidence so much that she needs a confidence-boosting arse job? Sounds like b0llocks to me.
  4. "working illegally as labourers ... the men were found demolishing a wall as part of renovation work ... they were being paid 450 yuan—or approximately 2,200 THB—per day for their labour". All the info you needed is there in the OP!
  5. It was posted by one of our betters that speculation is against forum rules??? No, and I didn't say that it was against the rules.
  6. Do they? Any examples that you could link to to back up your assertion?
  7. "Very common on Pattaya unfortunately!!" As is unfounded speculation on this forum, unfortunately!
  8. Is there something wrong with being a "Thai defender" on this forum...maybe a rule I've missed?
  9. You mean the, maybe, ten million Swiss people in general or just a couple of particularly non-representative examples?
  10. If you assume that these boys were provoked in some way and didn't just decide to beat up an old foreigner, you are dumber than I thought.
  11. Agreed - start with drink drivers. Agreed, particularly the arrogant ones who profess to know what they're doing when intoxicated and then brag about it.
  12. Your incessant reliance on flawed sweeping generalisations, drawn from the actions of an insignificant minority, exposes a gaping void where critical thought ought to reside. Were others to stoop to your level and generalise about AN posters based on your drivel, we’d all be branded as dim-witted cretins, a grim caricature of halfwits drowning mediocrity. Worse still, your unfounded confidence in these crude conclusions serves only to underline the abyss of your ignorance, and highlights the depths of what you so glaringly fail to comprehend. Very well said but, unfortunately, that also applies to many other, perhaps even the majority of AN posters, not just him.
  13. Which "easy visa policy" has had any effect on Swiss travellers to Thailand?
  14. You mean Mr Fehr who, in fact, did not kick anyone and was acquitted of the charge?
  15. They didn't offer me that option??? How was that solicitor specifying payment of the £200 and what method did you use for that international payment? And. for £200, why would that solicitor have any right to, or interest in, your last three months bank transactions? Seems that there must have been more to it than just paying a normal £200 bill.
  16. No, it is not. You could have simply sent the solicitor a SWIFT payment.
  17. Still get my True bills in the post. Some time ago I called them because they hadn't sent the bill as usual (or maybe they sent it and it got lost, I don't know) so they emailed it to me and said that I could have all future bills by email or continue by post, the choice was mine. If you want a mailed bill, call them and ask.
  18. Call them and request a mailed bill, I have always had my TOT/NT bill in the post.
  19. "...Bangkok Bank branch in my local Big C mall flatly refused to issue me with a new passbook a few years ago..." That may have been the case a few years ago but these days any BBL branch will issue a new passbook in normal circumstances.
  20. OK, sorry. I will not do it again. Good morning. That's more like it! Good morning to you too.
  21. No I was not! As explained previously, an "either/or" account is effectively two separate accounts, Apologies if I misinterpreted your post. A sole account can be either/or signatories, also.
  22. No. But the OP s question has been answered early on, Yet you continued to post on the thread after you announced that you thought it should be closed!
  23. How would the police know, by checking every bank in Thailand? Very easy, documents of the deceased, perhaps, ATM cards in the possession of the deceased, bank passbook? Police have to be informed of the death of a foreigner in Thailand and do not think that they would not visit the persons home/address.
