  1. Spot on. I would think the "cheaper tourists" (as I used to be prior to becoming an ex-pat) will still come. Non refundable tickets or sometimes costly changes can be a nightmare. And yes, the airport(s) are a worry.????????
  2. Just popped a couple of crumpets under the grill, shaved off some cheese from my block and then proceeded to melt atop said crumpets under the grill. Add some cherry tomatoes, sprinkles of pepper, garlic salt and HP sauce. Perfect snack. No rubber slices involved.????????
  3. I guess they have "a duty of care" to advise when, and if, things heat up. But absolutely agree - go easy on the panic button so early in the piece. I have already suggested that farmers will still grow rice and people will still shop at 7/11. Hotchilli I believe correctly summed it up simplisticly earlier in this thread.????????
  4. Well, no surprise there. Exactly as expected. Now the question is "What Happens Next?" Not much I guess. People will still grow rice and shop at 7/11. A sad (predictable) day indeed for my grand-kids.
  5. My wifey just laughs and says "Not my Promlam" Probably sums it all up.????????
  6. My Soi cat regularly denies wrong-doings. Most of these denials are to do with being asleep at the wheel.????????
  7. Agreed. I've been 10 years and seen the office change. Never had a problem.
  8. SOP Thailand. Look in mirror, if you recognize that person, have another beer or go to Soi Buakhao for a second opinion. Things can only get....?
  9. I haven't read the prior posts. First thing I thought of was brake failure.
  10. Scan and pee. Sounds like a Welsh dish.????????
  11. Not sure if the dunnies in bars will accept anything other than 5 baht cash. Especially when I need a urgent dump.????????
  12. "The military-designed constitution requires a partisan candidate..." Huh? How can someone living in Paris be a candidate? Oh wait. There is already a precedent of a person living overseas being a "leader".????????
  13. Kevlar jacket....check, Old military uniform to wear on Mondays......check, Grenade launcher.....check, Multiple passports......check, Multiple bank books.....check Internet passwords book.....check, 20 Baht to pay tank driver to go to border....check, Room in tank for the Watchman,.....nope Care factor.....no check required.????????
  14. I thought this was a story about the Soi cat.????????
  15. Now just remind me. Who is the current govt?????????
  16. Oh. Wrong topic. I thought it was dicussing a situation similar to my GF of 6 years. Sorry????????
  17. If he had filmed on a Monday it would have been cheaper. Millions of 20 Baht shop military/police look alike uniforms and medals available. No-one would be any the wiser.????????
  18. Righto. The EC considers it harder to get out of a MP position rather than get in. Got it now.????????
  19. Borrowing never ends. First it is the bank(s), then friends, family, children, Mom & Pop shop.......????????
  20. So, the bike was charged. Arrested? Sent to an inactive post?????????
  21. U- tube 22 min video? At least 1.5 million people need to get out more.????????
  22. The only memory I have from '79 is being in a cafe with my new GF, looking up and wondering "Why is my ex fiancè sitting over there?" Oh, hang on....that was Santana 1977, "She's Not There"????????
  23. Totally correct but not only in Thailand. I had a surgery "complication" in Oz. Denial was quick and emphatic. Unless you are prepared to go through the wringer of a court case it is best to just move on. So yes - your "no rules apply" sums it up perfectly.
