This is not helping: Jill Biden enthusiastically supports Joe after debate: 'You did such a great job' Gabe Hauari 12{31 PM ET June 28, 2024 First Lady Jill Biden gave President Joe Biden a warm welcome as he stepped on stage at an Atlanta hotel after Thursday night's debate − despite his performance sparking concerns about his candidacy. "Didn't the president do a great job? Yes!" said Jill Biden to supporters who gathered at the hotel after Joe stepped on stage. ... "Joe you did such a great job," she went on. "You answered every question, you knew all the facts." https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/06/28/jill-biden-after-debate-video/74244737007/

Foreigners and their overseas income: what next?

Punitive as opposed to paying taxes? And some banks refund the 220 fee(s) each month. -
Posted April 27 To me the possibly more scary part of Trump again elected as President are these folks who see him as an empty vessel for changes to the Federal government they have been working on since Reagan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025 Project 2025 (officially the Presidential Transition Project) is a collection of policy proposals to reshape the executive branch of the U.S. federal government at an unprecedented scale in the event of a Republican victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. https://aseannow.com/topic/1325922-why-the-hush-money-case-against-donald-trump-is-on-shaky-ground/?do=findComment&comment=18873251

That's OK -- for a year or so I've been accused of being a Trump supporter by a dedicated tag team. Now I'm the anti-Trump. This was a post of mine August 26, 2023 BTW this was my analysis when the Trump - Raffensberger call transcript first became available. DJT: I've heard that people are saying that 200,000 Martians landed in Georgia and voted illegally. Respnse: Nonsense. DJT: But that's what people are saying. And if only 10% of it is true, then that's 20,000 disqualified votes and that's all we need. Edited August 26, 2023 by jerrymahoney

Foreigners and their overseas income: what next?
jerrymahoney replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well frankly I can't see the Thai RD going through all this brouhaha and then telling people ATM withdrawals of any size are not subject to remittance reporting. And what if you had 5 or so banks to spread out the withdrawals each month? -

My error -- so one could bring in closer to a million baht per month not subject to remittance. -

Most ATM's I have used say there is a 20,000 baht per day withdrawal limit. So by that reasoning one could, by using the ATM route, bring in upwards of 500,000 baht per month remittance tax free. -
Should Biden do another LBJ? When? (Not If)

Yes so not every 81 year old has to look like Joe. -

Since I do the 65+K baht per month retirement extension regime, I should be easy to find. -

Last week I sat about 2 meters from the US Ambassador to Thailand and, while he said the embassy is currently engaged with the Thai revenue folks as regards the taxing of US citizen remittances to Thailand including DTA issues, there was no definitive information he could give at that time. -

And Mick Jagger will be 81 in July so it is not just a numbers thing. -
For the record after talking about taxes on billionaires BIDEN: We’d be able to right – wipe out his debt. We’d be able to help make sure that – all those things we need to do, childcare, elder care, making sure that we continue to strengthen our healthcare system, making sure that we’re able to make every single solitary person eligible for what I’ve been able to do with the COVID – excuse me, with dealing with everything we have to do with. Look, if – we finally beat Medicare. TAPPER: Thank you, President Biden. President Trump? TRUMP: Well, he’s right: He did beat Medicaid (ph).

While not singling out you, I wish people would stop with this 'convicted felon Trump' -- it carries as much weight with the people who will likely support him as "Grammy award winner". In NY State the lowest level Series E felony of his 34 count conviction would be the same for Criminal mischief in the third degree which would include painting significant graffiti onto the wall of a building that doesn’t belong to you. Murderers and armed bank robbers could also be called "convicted felons".

OPINION THE EDITORIAL BOARD of the New York Times To Serve His Country, President Biden Should Leave the Race June 28, 2024, 5:59 p.m. ET As it stands, the president is engaged in a reckless gamble. There are Democratic leaders better equipped to present clear, compelling and energetic alternatives to a second Trump presidency. (The rest is no surprise)

First let me say that although I described the Ambassador as a pleasant gent above, I do not mean the to suggest he cannot be tough when required. But really he said that they are deeply involved in the tax on remittance issue also as to DTA's but that he will respond with definitive answers only when he has them. He also remarked that the US Embassy in Bangkok is the largest US embassy in the world with about 7000 staff. To add from the Embassy website (not his remarks) The Economic Section monitors economic, financial, energy, trade, investment, and labor trends in Thailand. The team presents U.S. views on bilateral and multilateral economic issues to the Thai government and the public.
