At my Samsung phone I can import and export the data from the SIM card. I also can select the storage location of the contacts (SIM, SAMSUNG account,...)

What is often used here is shown in the picture. It costs next to nothing (about 30 Baht). Important is to chew it - this is why it has a flavour. You also should repeat it after 3 weeks to destroy new worms that hatched from eggs. If this doesn't help try Albendazole. It is more powerful but then of course not so good for your health.

Double glazed windows will help especially against deep frequencies like base? You are kidding. To make windows soundproof requires different glass thickness at a minimum distance of 13 mm. I myself have special double windows (two windows in a row) with about 2.5 cm glass in total and it is still not enough to block the bar noise completely. I still need very good earplugs in addition. And I can't use earplugs all the time... In addition there are balkony doors that are an even bigger challenge to block the bar noise. I had days were I could not watch TV even with earphones. And some people say look for a quiet area. I did and pretty soon I was surrounded by noisy bars. And this area was quiet for decades. My recommendation for Pattaya is to rent. Or even better avoid Pattaya completely. My big condo is unusable and financially a total loss. If anyone wants to buy a very noisy condo please let me know it ????

At mobile devices the helpdesks often ask as first question "Did you try to reset the device? ". I would be busy for a very long time afterwards to get back to the installation I had before...

A typical helpdesk answer would be "Format drive C and install Windows again." ???????????? NO - Don't do this!!! ????

Mega will give you 20 GB for free. Long time ago you got 50 GB. Google Drive will give you 15 GB for free (per email account). Everything counts - Emails, Google Photos, Google Drive, whatever you have under this account. These limits can change at any time. If you ask me what will exist longer - Mega or Google... I don't know ????????

And make sure that you buy the correct washing powder for it. There are different versions for front and top loaders.

10 Baht but don't pay with a bank note... This 10 and 20 Baht fare we had for a while does obviously not exist anymore. I now always pay with one 10 Baht coin and never had a problem.

Look at Lazada. Very many options available. If you need more infos let me know it. In respect of public IP. On Windows I have a software that sends you an email with the actual IP so that you can access your computer.

If you love your old fan so much and want a quick fix. If cleaning alone does not help try this - give it a little bit of oil (Singer for instance) https://youtu.be/hPyHBH3WwBM

If you want to use 4G LTE or 5G look at Lazada. There you get very good prepaid deals that you will not get at the shops of the providers. You can register with your passport. If you need more information let me know it.

Try this Everything. It is small and if you don't like it simply uninstall it. I never would waste my time with the Windows search.

Because of shopping options. In the Central Mall I also have many banks. It is simply a better infrastructure than for instance in Jomtien. But Central Pattaya it is also a very big red light district that gets bigger and bigger... I don't know how much longer I will live at this place. Sadly I bought my condo. But at this time my area was completely quiet. Better rent in Pattaya since there is no zoning. Your condo can get unusable because of noise. I have this situation already. And I am not the only one. Complaints? We (many) complained very many times at the police and the City Hall but nothing changed. We residents are obviously not as important as the entertainment venues... -

You are right. LINE doesn't work with Android 4.2 on my Note II anymore. On my Galaxy Tab S2 that has now Android 6 it says minimum OS is Android 6. On my Galaxy Tab S7 Plus with Android 11 it says minimum requirement is Android 7. A bit confusing... -

This noise pollution is a big problem here especially for people that have to work or for children that need to sleep. Often you get the advice to move. But this is not always that simple. And from my experience here in Central Pattaya. You can complain and many people including myself did many times. But it did not change anything. This "entertainment lobby" is too powerful and can obviously do whatever it wants. -
Transfer money from Metrobank online to Thailand
Mickeymaus replied to Mickeymaus's topic in Philippines General Chat
I talked to them so much already. It was bad. I always get a lot of information via email but not one word that they will change the ATM cards to chip cards. One day I tried to withdraw an amount here in Thailand and suddenly the card did not work anymore. Then suddenly I didn't get the OTP SMS anymore here in Thailand. Many Filipinos working overseas had the same problem and also had no access to their accounts anymore... They suffered even more than me. But their new online system seems to be great. Got an OTP again. They also list all the very many countries where you will be able to receive the OTP SMS now. Also International transfers seem to be online possible now. Very many banks are listed. For instance Bangkok Bank here in Thailand should not be a problem. But I didn't try yet. I also couldn't find any information about the fees yet. Not sure if I close the account if it is not so easy anymore to open a new account. It is good if you travel in the Philippines and can withdraw money with a local ATM card. In respect of opening accounts I read this information below. So it is still possible. Perhaps you have to ask at several branches. https://kittelsoncarpo.com/an-expats-guide-to-opening-a-bank-account-in-the-philippines/ -
Transfer money from Metrobank online to Thailand
Mickeymaus replied to Mickeymaus's topic in Philippines General Chat
This is bad news. Wasn't a problem 25 years ago and I had accounts at several banks (at this time some ATMs often did not work and so you tried one from a different bank). Perhaps I should keep this account... But I get too old to travel ???? I have been in the Philippines 10 years ago the last time. At this time they still had a Lion Air flight Bangkok - Angeles. I was worried because Lion Air was a small company. But I will never forget these flights. A completely new Airbus. It still smelled like a new car. -

Did they not want to build a tunnel... ? -
"Mr Yuthasak said that Thailand expects to see the tourists spend an average of 30 percent more per trip next year." I am confused... They should come here to save money and then spend 30 percent more here. But on the other hand if I look at some price increases here this could be necessary. Many things that I need got much more expensive even without any inflation ???????????? in Thailand.

Transfer money from Metrobank online to Thailand
Mickeymaus replied to Mickeymaus's topic in Philippines General Chat
Travelling from Pattaya to the Philippines just to pick up the new chip ATM card... ?! This is exactly what I want to avoid. The OTP SMS seems to work again now. Problem was that the account gets dormant after 2 years. So desperately I looked for an option to create a movement. Before I could online only transfer inside Metrobank. So I always transferred every 2 years (donated) a small amount to UNESCO - they have an account there. Of course I could have transferred some money from Thailand. But I am thinking to close this account completely. And now there seems to be an option to do this without going there. I simply transfer everything to Thailand and then it will be closed automatically. Do you know if it is a problem nowadays to open an account on the Philippines? Just in case if I would need one again in the future. -

Did you really try all of them in the picture?! The ones in the upper right corner are wax like yours. The ones in the upper left corner are foam. But not the kind you might know. They are the best earplugs I ever had. They are from the US company Honeywell. You can't compare them with other (scrap) foam earplugs. These ones are completely different. -

If you need an earplug recommendation -> here is my Central Pattaya survival kit... ???????????? Just ask me... -
I have the following situation. Normally I live in Thailand. But I have an account at Metrobank Philippines. I also have an ATM card. Sadly this ATM card was changed to a chip card and so I can't use it anymore. To get a new chip card I will have to go to the branch. There is no other way I was told. And I also cannot transfer funds to Thailand. BUT recently I logged into my Metrobank account and was VERY surprised. Firstly I got an OTP via SMS at my Thai phone number what didn't work for a long time anymore. And secondly I saw that I can transfer money to my Thai bank account now. I still cannot believe it. It looked too good to be true. Did anyone use this already?

Who has retired to other Asian countries?
Mickeymaus replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I lived in the Philippines for 4 years about 25 years ago. I still have bank accounts there. I lived on the island of Boracay for a year. One of my best years in my life. The world was just this island. Sadly today Boracay is not the same anymore. I have tried it a couple of years ago again. I have stayed in many other places - Cebu, Manila, Angeles, Olongapo and many more. The food I didn't like. The people - you can talk to pretty much anyone in English. And they can talk to you too, which isn't always an advantage. I lived much more integrated than here in Thailand. You're more one of them with all the disadvantages... Nature is great. Nicer than here in Thailand and not so busy with tourists. The touristic infrastructure is often simple. So be prepared to stay in old hotels used by the US army and travel with the locals - along with chicken or whatever on the public transport system. Jeepneys are terrible. The Pattaya Baht buses, on the other hand, are a luxury. Earthquakes - I experienced a bigger one there. Wasn't fun and the worst part was afterwards waiting for aftershocks. I could tell you a lot more. But why did I end up in Thailand? It was the much better infrastructure for foreigners. Of course - somehow I live here like in a ghetto. It's not an integrated life like it used to be in the Philippines. But it's easier when you can live alone and with more distance. But I miss the great nature of the Philippines. They could be the main tourist destination in South East Asia. But they have to create the infrastructure for this.
