  1. My childish narrative?! I would say don't listen to every idiot posting here but listen to reputable news sources on the Internet.
  2. I am not sure what the government wants to achieve by still using AstraZeneca or even SINOVAC. Many vaccinated people or many protected people? Next week registration for expats in Pattaya starts. Available is only SINOVAC and AstraZeneca. Very bad... On top of it AstraZeneca has the blood clot risk. "Wednesday's study found that two doses of Pfizer's shot was 88% effective at preventing symptomatic disease from the Delta variant, compared to 93.7% against the Alpha variant, broadly the same as previously reported. Two shots of AstraZeneca vaccine were 67% effective against the Delta variant, up from 60% originally reported, and 74.5% effective against the Alpha variant, compared to an original estimate of 66% effectiveness." https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/two-doses-pfizer-astrazeneca-shots-effective-against-delta-variant-study-finds-2021-07-21/
  3. The question of the OP is pretty simple. You stay in a rented apartment and one of your guests causes some damage to the painting. So please answer how to solve this. Has nothing to do with anything else.
  4. It is not October 1st. You should stick to the 120 days that were announced . ????
  5. They are never guilty. I made the same experience. They would be the perfect lawyers. But I guess your girlfriend is much poorer than you. Anyway. I would ask the owner. If you have bad luck you take someone and it might look worse than now. But even if you meet a genius it might not look the same and the owner might complain.
  6. Just put there balloons ????
  7. You have to be careful. If people have no fear then they will not try to get vaccinated. A problem in some western countries already.
  8. Look at the photo. Nobody cares about social distancing (again). But the people go there to find out if they have Covid. Sorry - all this doesn't make sense anymore to me.
  9. It is bad that the bar staff doesn't get salaries. But you also have to understand that entertainment venues belong to one of the most risky businesses at Covid times. There have been enough big Covid clusters at bars already. Endless other businesses have / had to suffer because nobody there cared much. And we are talking about big hotels, big shopping malls, big companies and not about some not sold beer or not sold lady drinks at bars. This is exactly the problem - some entertainment venues do what they want. Some don't even care about a licence. And for this reason I personally hope that they will be the last businesses that will be allowed to open.
  10. "Anyway, after three years both systems ran out of coolant." Do you let them check the gas when they clean it? I never do. They just might damage the valves. I have 3 aircons. I never allowed them to check the gas and never had a problem in this respect in more than 10 years. And for sure I saved some money for fake fillings... In respect of cleaning - after endless nightmares with several companies and after the last company threw away many screws I started to do it myself... It gets on my nerves and it is some work and you need to get some knowledge. But there doesn't seem to be an alternative. At least this was my experience.
  11. What I see is that the typical imported farang food gets less and less. At least at the Tops market where I shop. Somehow understandable because there are not so many farangs here as usual. But on the hand that doesn't really help me...
  12. You can blame whomever you want. If you are sick it will not make much difference. But yes it needs to be organised in a way that such a mass gathering cannot happen. People organising this should have more knowledge than the people going there for vaccination. Perhaps this assumption is too optimistic or perhaps they don't care enough. But this does not excuse anything.
  13. The people are crazy. On the one hand they are worried to get sick and at the other hand they obviously don't care at all... This cannot be the gathering of the most clever people...
  14. I know of some who want to come and help their bar love here. Perhaps it would be better for everyone just to send the money... ????
  15. I am wondering that tourists come at all. Even being vaccinated doesn't mean that you can't get the virus. And what will follow then has nothing to do with holidays anymore. So vaccinated or not - you still have to be very careful.
  16. They have to learn from the EZB. They don't need and like savings anymore and simply print the money.
  17. "Mrs Jangyodsuk also owns 3 women's bags worth 7 hundred thousand baht" And I always walk with my rucksack worth 350 Baht...
  18. "It is expected that if the COVID-19 outbreak can be controlled well this high season [Oct-Feb], the economy may grow,” she said." The most important thing is to control the numbers...
  19. I guess many people will move to the Government Savings Bank for instance. If I can open an account there as foreigner I will be one of them. I wait for the branches in the mall to open again to clarify everything. Another bank might be Krung Thai.
  20. "The officials told the police that it was hard to establish who was actually in charge." Perhaps start at the owner of the land...
  21. "Fundamentals in the banking sector remain strong said Kasikorn in a report picked up by Daily News." Normally banks will not announce before their closure that they have problems. People would start immediately to withdraw their deposits otherwise. So I never listen to their statements. Even rating agencies cannot be trusted as history showed already.
  22. The thousands of bars have nothing to do with with sex? You are very funny. Main parts of Pattaya are red light districts and nothing else. On top of it the Beach Road is occupied by sex workers. But this is not the only open air place where sex is offered. Also many are waiting in the malls for customers. In respect of hotels. For sure you know about the short time hotels that you can find at many places. And even many normal hotels and apartments are used by sex tourists and their entertainers. The walls are often thin and so you cannot always avoid to be part of their entertainment. Soapy massage and massage with happy endings. No - it doesn't seem to be a location for family tourism. And I doubt that this is really wanted. Pattaya is sex and booze. I am really wondering that TAT is not honest enough to promote it like this. It cannot be overlooked what the main attractions seem to be. Even for endless Chinese tourists going in big groups to the Walking Street this special form of entertainment is a sight seeing highlight.
  23. This is bad news. I think a lot of good infrastructure dies at the moment. Covid but also increased online business are the reasons. What I am wondering is that many bars are build or renovated in Pattaya at this time. A completely new project almost finished is a kind of beach club with bigger pool and saunas at the Tree Town area. No idea what new kind of entertainment and service there will be offered. So it seems that many of these investors still have a lot of money and optimism.
