Why are you all so impatient. So what if it takes a few days?

I have Disney + Hotstar in Thailand and when I travel in the Philippines and try to access my account I am prompted to sign up and pay for a new one. Is there a way to use my Thai account from there? I don’t think a VPN will work.

they physically removed the taps and replaced it with Chang. it’s not a high season low season thing. also i was there for low season last year and they had it. i know it’s hard keeping that on draft. i just want to know if another place has it.

I used to go to a restaurant called A La Mér. They had Belgian beer on draft and a great happy hour but sadly both are gone. Does anyone know if it is under new management? Does anyone know of a place with Belgian beer on draft at reasonable prices, hopefully with some nice Belgian food as well?

I noticed this in Bangkok. I started going once every few years instead of every weekend! I actually found a place I like more.

I will do nothing different, but I’ve been traveling a lot for unrelated reasons and don’t expect to be in Thailand for 180 days this year. I only bring in enough to live on for myself anyway, so I’m the smallest fish they could go after. If they do anything, they’ll make an example of a bigger fish, then we will see. But I think that a year from now exactly nothing will have happened and everyone will still be back and forth with the speculating. As far as “following the laws of the kingdom,” I don’t think most people realize just how many things are illegal in Thailand and how many laws everyone routinely violates. But that doesn’t matter, what matters is enforcement of laws, which is also the case with this tax business.

I’m a westerner, and I can’t read Chinese so I don’t know if there was some secret phrase scrawled on the sign that let Chinese people know that all the money would be sent back to China. I just like Chinese food.

With the return of Chinese tourists to Pattaya there are a huge number of new Chinese restaurants, including Sichuan restaurants. If you like spicy, this is cuisine to try!

This is probably not of much consequence or interest to many of you, except Thailand based expats like me that also go to China and like their cashless payment system. Anyway, despite rumor to the contrary (I think I read the rumor here) WeChat (Weixin) Pay still only works outside China if you have a Chinese ID card. Which I think you have to be Chinese to get. Still it looks like WeChat is setup to take payment in Thai baht if a Thai WeChat pay QR code is scanned. Anyway, since my WeChat pay is linked to my “farang” credit card, it would have let me spend on my CC in more places. But oh well.

Accepting foreign credit cards has nothing to do with Thai culture. Living in Thailand doesn’t mean treating Thai people like they are happy, stupid children. They might talk to you in baby talk but they are capable of having adult reasons for things, and that is what is thread is about.

I just withdraw money from my Bangkok Bank account from a KBANK ATM and didn’t receive a corresponding message about a fee. I would think that if BBL is going to charge KBANK customers 10 baht to use cardless then KBANK will charge BBL customers the same. I guess we’ll find out in about a week, anyway.

If there is, I hope it’s not for BBL users using BBL ATMs. It’s saved me a lot money since I live in a different province than my account and I make frequent small withdrawals.
