  1. Surly, rude, nasty and unhelpful, these are all necessary character traits for all Immigration Officers, Worldwide. The Thais would have to go some way to get to the unacceptable attitudes displayed by US, IOs, who are the World's worst.
  2. And there you have everything that is wrong about farang teachers here. Stay away mate, they need dedicated, hard working, competent teachers here, not people who just want an easy life.
  3. I refer you to the post that I was replying to, where the poster, in attacking me, says he fights discrimination of all kinds. His context, in criticizing my stance, is all encompassing .
  4. As I quoted, The Oxford Dictionary would not agree with such a limited definition, but you know best I am sure
  5. Do you actually know what xenophobic means? How is my understanding of the Thai position xenophobic? 'Discrimination' does not, in itself ,have to be a negative. I discriminate against certain foods, certain entertainment venues, certain airlines, and yes, certain countries. We all do this. Its neither racist nor a negative; its a choice. Do you fight against my right to shop at Big C and not Lotus? From the Oxford Dictionary, its secondary meaning: recognition and understanding of the difference between one thing and another.
  6. Hear hear, well said and I second that
  7. My advice, do not do it. This is no place for pets. I have two dogs, but both bought here. I still feel desperately sorry for them when I compare the freedoms they could have in the UK to what they have here. No long walks, no nice safe parks where they can run around and meet other dogs and so many dangers. . The weather is terrible for dogs, the various illnesses and injuries they can sustain are many and varied. The vet services here are generally appallingly bad. If you love your dog, leave it behind. Bringing it here will shorten its life and what it has here may just make it very miserable.
  8. Wrens, Rabbits, sun and sea, great place.
  9. Malta's National Dish is rabbit and chips. I spent 3 happy years in Malta and loved the cuisine.
  10. Oh dear. We are Thailand, not in a Western country, deal with it.
  11. Do I have to state the obvious? Its their country, for their citizens, developed and operated for Thais. They quite rightly look after their own, That is not discrimination, its sensible in a developing country where wages are low and the standard of living for most is also low. If you don't like it, either ignore it, put up with it, or leave. Just stop whining about it.
  12. Eat the rabbit and save on house keeping
  13. Utter rubbish. I spent years in the UK military, getting ready for a war with the USSR, who were subjugating other Nations in pursuit of World domination, the West were not. I see nothing in this so called Russian Federation that leads me to think that anything has changed in that evil mind set. The Russian baby boomers and later generations, many of those sitting on Thailand's beaches now, have done nothing to change this situation, but have been instrumental in its continuance, therefore they have been directly responsible for this continuing evil.
  14. Stupid actions by politicians that are democratically elected and genocide committed by an authoritarian regime, are two entirely different situations, as you should well know. The nonsense comes from you mate.
  15. I didn't buy it and yes, idiot politicians, who thought they could befriend Putin, made Europe, and many other countries dependent on Russian energy. Not a good decision.
  16. UK and none at all in my life time .
  17. Utter nonsense. It's their Country, their countrymen , their relatives and friends, their neighbors that are committing genocide. Playing happy families in Thailand while all that goes on is despicable. Of course all 300 million of them are collectively and individually responsible. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves. Didn't they vote to put Putin and his criminal gang into power? They sit there and accept him as their leader don't they? Or are you going to tell me that the Russians here are the okay, whiter than white ones, who love babies and puppies and give to charity? What a joke that idea is.
  18. I've ordered one from Lazarda and I will wear it with pride. If I was 30 years younger I would certainly be in Ukraine, doing what I could to help eject the criminal Russian Army.
  19. Have you got a week? I've answered this before, so I won't repeat myself. They are all individually and collectively responsible for what their criminal government are doing in Ukraine, in the name of the Russian people. Just because the cowards have escaped to Thailand , it doesnt absolve them of that responsibility.
  20. Where can I buy one? Anything that upsets Russians here is a very good thing.
  21. The many Russians here
  22. And that's how they do it . I'm surprised that anyone would support their corporate tax avoidance schemes.
  23. One example. Too many other links to post that prove the same. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/mar/30/starbucks-uk-corporation-tax-profit-administrative-expenses-royalties
  24. An extremely worn out and weak excuse when they avoid corporation tax the World over. Its no excuse to say others pay tax on their behalf, that is, employees and customers. This excuse is trotted out by the largest digital and tech companies in the World and its horse dung.
