  1. Dear Folks, IF you do not come from America, you might not know about this. IN FACT, this is true. In America, there seems to be a rumor going round that White People smell like wet dog. Personally, I do not smell. Yet, some do. And then, have you ever wondered? What might Thai people think, ....really? Do white people smell FUNKY to the average Thai person? I think it might depend upon one's diet. I have known soi dogs to attack white people, just based on smell....alone. This is why I always eat Thai food. So then, what do you think? Does your wife tell you that you smell different, based on reports of her Thai friends who come to visit? This is a REAL THING in America...if you have ever been to the USA. As for me, I live alone, mostly. Therefore, no need to worry what I might smell like. However, if you frequently associate with Thai people...then... Maybe you should give this Topic a bit of thought.... Best regards, Gamma
  2. Don't you think it's about time that you took a break from the same old song? Why not think of something NEW? Fascists, these days, are a dime a dozen.
  3. q.i.d. Every day.
  4. Dear Folks, Tomorrow is a Sunday. And, today is a Saturday. So, then..... Why can't we be friends? Sometimes I worry about the apparent contention I see in the Farang Pub.... And, I can tell you... I do not much like it. I prefer a more harmonious Pub..... Don't you? Or.... Probably. You might not. Anyway.... Each to his own. Best regards, Gamma Note....: LESS Contention is More.
  5. So... You have yet to see the light, I see. You need immersion in the river. Get baptized, My Son. The One True Savior is TRUMP.
  6. SiChuan University cafeteria food. The worst and most DANGEROUS food in all of SiChuan. I lost two teeth to pebbles in white rice, which was not properly cleaned. As you may know... In China, the rural farmers dry rice on the roads. No doubt, this is what caused the fracture of two of my molars. How much, in monetary terms, is just one molar? Far more than a bowl of rice...but.... The rural farmers do not care. Most do not know anything about a toothbrush. Most, have never even been to a dentist, presumably. I sacrificed two molars to study in ChengDu. Yet, all things considered, it was definitely worth the loss.
  7. I will. When I get to Chiang Rai. We can drink tea together... Presumably. Just for starters.
  8. Hi Folks, Somebody, recently, posted some Topic about.... THIS IS MY AMERICA SADLY Well, I do not know much about America. I have lived in Asia, NON-STOP, for over 45 years. So, I can only reply to THAT topic by saying.... THIS IS MY ASIA....GLADLY. Hope you agree. Even BLACK GIRLS love Asia, so apparently, as you will glean from this video.... Enjoy Asia, Folks! Is my best advice to you. I Ain't never going back to the Good Old USA. I would suggest that YOU go back to the USA.... In my place, and.... Give my regards to Broadway, while you are there. Best regards, Gamma Even the Chinese love America.... Wow. Chinese students are just SO SMART.... Ask ANY Ivy League Prof. Or, any Nobel laureate at MIT.... They will tell you... The TRUTH. American students are just ... TOO SOFT to do HARD SCIENCE. Do you think I am crazy? Just ask Richard Smalley. He said this same thing, one year before he died from Cancer... The Big C. He knew that it is the Asian students who have worked hard, from a very young age, who do not lack the brilliance and resilience to WORK HARD. To succeed in the Natural Sciences requires HARD WORK. Did you think Chemistry at the highest level is easy? NO It takes .... GUTS Plenty of GUTS. I am only stating what most good uni profs know to be true. I LOVE the Chinese, in fact. I really DO. I have GREAT respect.....!!!!!!!!!! Just call me.... The Original Sinophile of The Farang Pub. Also, I am a ham.
  9. Surprisingly, I happened to listen to this song, about TEN more times, since I posted this Topic, and.... IMHO, I do believe that this song is one of his best. Such deep meaning...meaning..... a. The rooms were so much colder then. b. The times were very hard, when I was young. c. I smoked my first cigarette at TEN....... YEAH This song DOES resonate.... BIG TIME... As Trump might say.... BUT, I guess you would have had to actually BE THERE.... To adequately appreciate what I am saying... NOW. Eric is just SO DEEP. Therefore... Any way to REVOKE the Nobel for Dylan? And give Dylan's Nobel to Eric, instead. Just ONE of Eric is FAR GREATER than TWO Dylans, any old day. NOTE4: Compared to Eric, Dylan is just such a Sad Joke, the joke of a clown, in fact.
  10. Go Trump, GO! i have become a TOTAL Trump supporter. Thank's Harris. You converted me, like nobody else could.
  11. I am looking forward to watching this interview. However, I think I will wait until .... AFTER the election, Nov 5th. (I would not want the interview to influence my vote.)
  12. I wish you all the luck in winning the lottery of your choice. I once had a Jaguar. The Jag XJ6, 1985, bought brand new.... Also, this same color. Such a Beauty. Such a Beast. The Beauty and the Beast, in fact. I REALLY DO HOPE that you get your dream car. Take care. As for me... I stopped driving after my arrival in Thailand. And, I am so happy now. Best of luck in the lottery. The leather in this car is to smell for.
  13. Please, IMMEDIATELY, upload photo of said 61-yo. Thanking you, in advance. Best regards, Gamma
  14. Capsizing the boat is a totally forgivable offense. However, IF, while boarding the boat, you had stepped directly on the bottom of the extremely thin wooden shell... Then you foot would have gone straight through it, immediately. And, this would have been totally unforgivable, due to the cost of repairing such a faux pas.
  15. Not sure. But one thing I am SURE about... That was DEFINITELY a BAD-HAIR day for both of them.
  16. Still, here is a thought.... Since I am now toying with the idea of moving to Chiang Rai.... IF I were to move to Chiang Rai... Then this might beg the question: Would your GF be able to, sometimes, help me don my socks, if I were to become totally incapacitated? Or, if not.... Are there any girls there in Chiang Rai that I could pay to help me in this way? I shudder to think what life might be like for me, if I were forced, sometime in the near future, to become suddenly sockless.
  17. In your present circumstances, now that you have a GF who is willing to cut your toenails... I see no benefit for you in touching your toes. However, for me, it's a totally different story. I lack a GF to cut my toenails. Therefore, I must be more self-reliant than you, for such things. Donning socks, I have noticed, is not as easy as it once was, too.
  18. I REALLY find this Topic FAR too CRUDE for my tastes. Perhaps, a trip to the LOUNGE is in order? Just asking.and... NOT advocating that it be moved. Perhaps, my tastes are not the same as most in the Farang Pub... Is my guess.
  19. One other reason why I did not try to intervene and ask these girls what it was about, and to try to help them calm down was: I did not want to get kicked in the teeth, myself. As you know, I am planning to have several dental implants installed, and I do not look forward to it. So, if I had tried to intervene, perhaps I would have required dental implants a lot sooner.
  20. Actually, this girl got kicked in the cheek/teeth. And, she didn't even cry!!!! She was really tough, and hard as nails. Most American girls would be crying for an hour, most likely. (Also, these girls were not in Uni Uniforms. So, I really doubt that they were students at CMU.) CMU students are GREAT and CIVILIZED, too!!!!
  21. In and around CMU, the neighborhood is actually one of the VERY BEST. I have loved living there. I think that the two girls in question had just involved themselves in a lover's spat. And, it seems that the solution was for the dominant girl to kick in the teeth the less dominant girl. Who knows why, because I did not take the time to ask them. Also, concerning your comment on flexibility of the human body: I can only tell you that when I was a rower, even when I was first rowing at age 17, in crew, and when I could row 12 miles in an eight, non-stop, I was never that flexible.
  22. I agree with you, completely. In addition, the reason I found the reported kicking incident so very shocking is due to the fact that I have always found Thai women, almost invariably, to be nothing short of polite and ladylike. What a shocker....let me tell you!!!! I think I may even have suffered a bit of PTSD from just being a witness. Suffice to say, that this memory is still burned in my mind, after so many years have elapsed.
  23. Dear Folks, In all my born days on Planet Earth, I had never seen a girl kick another girl in the face… Not before moving to Thailand. For one thing, in the United States, few women are as “high-stepping” as Thai girls, it seems. One almost needs to be a contortionist to just, one moment, be standing still. And then next moment; at lightning speed, just reach out and clock another girl in the kisser with one’s foot. How do girls here manage this….physically, I mean. I first saw this near the university, just outside one of the gates of CMU. Of course, I really doubt that the two girls were uni students. I am sure they were not. I have only witnessed this once, in the early evening. I was completely shocked. When it happened, I was immediately reminded of the character Vera Donovan in Stephen King’s story, ‘Dolores Claiborne’, where two women are talking about the need for women to be….High-Stepping…or High-Riding...whatever that means, and I know what it means. The term ‘high-stepping’ actually has several accepted meanings. So then….How many here have witnessed one girl kicking another girl in the teeth? I bet almost NOBODY…. Just too shocking for words. I hope you never see this because it’s a hard thing to get out of one’s mind, I am still unable to un-see it, even after almost eight years since it happened. And, what if one were to marry a girl like this? Would one ever be able to let down one’s guard, even for a minute? KaPow !!!! Right in the Kisser !!! I did a little search on YT for the movie segment in which Vera Donovan is lecturing Caiborne about the need for women to be “high-stepping” in this world of ours. I am too old and not flexible enough to kick anyone in the kisser, fortunately. Sometimes I wish I could. But, I am glad that I cannot, or I might end up at the BKK Hilton if I did. So why didn’t this one girl at the uni prosecute the other girl for using such force while standing outside the uni gate? Some things here in Thailand, I guess I will never understand. Do you understand all things here in Thailand? Best regards, Gamma NOTE4: IT’S A DEPRESSINGLY MASCULINE WORLD WE LIVE IN….DOLORES…. Oh, My! Careful, Guys.....
  24. What's in that glass of ... whatever it is? That looks SUPER Good! Anybody know? I would like to make one of those.
