I AGREE that this was not done in the proper sequence. Should have boosted tariffs on China to 204%. First. CommieChina is our enemy, and will be in the hot war of the future. We cannot continue to add to the economy of a country which is spending large on its military which, obviously, they intend to use against our interests. Who knows now, though, how to stop trade with China. But it must be done. Navarro is a nutcase, though, I agree with you. His book was so-so, but not original, and not that good. Maybe he was not the one who actually wrote his book on China.

Of course there are other words that, when I hear them incorrectly pronounced, make me explode. But, ofTen is the most egregious example of mispronunciation I can think of....because the T is rapidly taking over the world, these days. Also, someone here mentioned the word veHicle. As I recall, John Candy once pronounced the H, but he was doing it solely for the purpose of mocking cops, maybe. Also, you can never predict when someone you are talking to might slip in the T. And then, one must bite one's tongue.

I am American. The average IQ in Singapore is higher than the average in America. The well-educated class in Singapore write English well, and better than the average American. This is true. However, they do not know how to properly use pronouns, since English is usually not their first language. Who even knows what their first language might be....probably Hakka or MinNanYu, or something.... Who really knows. And, who can even discuss much of anything under such an Authoritarian state where there is no freedom of speech.....?

So, in the future, I should make my comments longer?

Dear Folks, What is happening to this world of Social Media, not to mention the perversion of the English language, that..... These days: There is an increasing number of illiterate speakers of English who pronounce the T in the simple word OFTEN....??? What is going on here? If you have been alive for the past few decades, then you might know. For example, even today, Google Translate does NOT pronounce the T. But, then why is this happening, today with humans? ....meaning..... Are there just too many non-native English speakers who are diluting, warping, and perverting the English language, mostly via.... Social Media? Every time I hear some weirdo from the "Global South" trying to utter simple words, like OFTEN, and mispronouncing it....I .... Just want to die. I mean: The guys from the Global South say..... ofTen ofTen ofTen.....!!!!!!!!! How many more times do we need to listen to these people before we retreat to a cave, somewhere.....??? Because, for sure.... The number of these culturally illiterate guys invading our language, warping it, and perverting it..... Is rapidly increasing. We are losing our entire culture, just through having our English language watered down...all over the world....and Especially in Singapore, where they speak, mostly, Singlish. What can be done?
