The last time I drank this Dutch offering was quite some time ago, when Taiwan purchased two subs. In exchange for agreeing to sell Taiwan subs, I think Taiwan, out of the kindness of the heart, decided to buy up a ton of Heineken beer. The locals did not like it. And, the price kept dropping Finally, I bought some, too. I would prefer German beer. And, I think I would never pay "extra" for Dutch beer, at least no more than for Singha or Leo. Is Heineken more expensive than Singha? And, what about the Dutch Brew's Bubbles? Are they small enough for me, do you think? We on Formosa salute the Dutch for their Subs, but not so much for their Brew. Although, Heineken seems to be doing much better in Taiwan these days, compared to 44 years ago. The Dutch just LOVE Taiwan.... But, in the past, the Taiwanese disliked their beer. Not so much, now, I think. Maybe they want to sell more weapons to Taiwan. Or, establish another colony on Formosa... IDK, Too early to say, for now.

It is a COMPLETELY different experience to look through the eyepiece of a telescope and see the moons of Jupiter, compared to just seeing images in a book. The reason is that one can finally grasp that the moons are real, and it's almost like being there. The experience is not the same. One is seeing a changing image in Real Time. Just not the same. When I was young and in high school, I once ground an 8-inch blank of glass from Corning, using a 55-gallon drum filled with water, and without any other equipment. The process of checking and re-checking the focal length of a half-finished mirror using a candle is something everyone should do, at least once in their life. One thing I miss about being where I am is that having a telescope here would be pointless. One other thing most people should do once in their life is take a one-year course in astronomy at a decent university with a dynamite professor. And an example: Much of such a course is spent learning the chemistry of the Sun, and stuff like that. As for modern equipment for the hobbyist, the investment can quickly mount up. Also, I think you mentioned the a Dobsonian (Newtonian) telescope..... When one has the time, it's always best to build oneself....maybe....

He came to your room? What was the point of that? -
Just in case someone might be curious.... Due to atmospheric turbulence, large telescopes can use adaptive optics in order to compensate. (No, they DO NOT BLAST HOLES IN THE SKY!!!!!, in case you are worried.) I am looking forward to seeing the images from this monster, before the year 2030. Speed it UP, Guys...!!!!! Still, for the ground observer, the individual, having a dark sky, with stars from horizon to horizon, is much more fulfilling. For those who have spent months at sea, and not in the north, while it is true that the stars are brighter, I doubt that one gets the same effect as places like the Gobi. It's important to be HIGH, and to be Cold.

Cayenne Pepper: A Health Powerhouse - what you need to know

I'ts not so easy to make the best and most fragrant chili sauce. Here is just one method, of many. The Chinese know how to cook. (Of course there are English subtitles for this video.) I prefer the chili sauce made with larger chunks of chili peppers floating..... -
Cayenne Pepper: A Health Powerhouse - what you need to know
GammaGlobulin replied to CharlieH's topic in The Wellness Zone
Consuming Cayenne in China is not an unknown phenomenon. I found a good supplier here in Thailand. In my view, excellent quality is provided by this company, for all spices, including white pepper. About twice the cost of other companies. Not sure where the spices come from. But, very concentrated and not diluted. Also, if one has the time, it is best to buy the chilies and make chili sauce in a wok. Also, chili oil. And, add garlic to the chili sauce as is done by my Chinese friends. This is how it SHOULD look, and just looking at it makes me drool more than usual.... Wish I had some, and also some noodles. How I miss China....!!!!!! Love the food in ChengDu...for example. -
Nice island, for sure. However, really too much light pollution there, or at least the atmospheric conditions are not optimal for proper star viewing. If you had mentioned Chile, for example, then I could not agree more. The problem is water vapor in the atmosphere as one nears the equator. Cold air is drier, warmer air holds more water vapor. For example: Chile's ELT... Extremely Large Telescope Those lasers are IMPORTANT!!!! This giant is about half-way to completion. I would move to Chile, instead of the Gobi, except for the fact that .... I really don't like heights.

Obviously, microwave radiation will not toast a piece of bread. If you put bread in a microwave, you know what happens. It will shrink and become hard as a rock. (Sounds like I might be talking about something else, but I am not. I am talking about what microwaving does to bread. It will not toast bread as might a convection oven, a radiant oven, or a conventional toaster.)

There is something in our makeup that demands access to these things, such as the natural starry night, and a clear mountain brook with trees and bees, autumn leaves without the sound of jet aircraft buzzing overhead. All this is gone, in most places where humans live. No doubt, the impact of this separation between man and natural environment has already been deeply felt, and the impact immense.

Isn't this just one more thing to clean? Also, better to buy an electric skillet...but....I have NOT seen electric skillets of the type consumers love in the USA....at least not yet.....on Lazada, or in the retailers, ....in Thailand. I think the local consumers just do not understand the concept. If I could find one of these for sale in Thailand...I would buy TWO immediately.... But, they do not sell them. This is far better than any microwave more making a lot of good sandwiches, and many other fried foods. Nothing can beat it. And, the cost is very low, or should be...

There were no 7-Elevens in Greenwich when I was young. There were no Sevens on Long Island when I was young. The sandwitches I prefer can only be had in.... Places like this: There are a few great delis on The Main Line, someplace in Merion Township, for example. But, you are correct that... By comparison the Seven sandwitches sold in the USA in the USA, decades ago, were GARBAGE by comparison to a top-notch sandwitch. There is just no comparison. Still the Seven Sandwitches of decades ago were better than what they were selling in Taiwan, after President bought them out. I would not eat what they are selling these days. However, consumers today have much lower expectations....OBVIOUSLY...jut looking at the Glop on sale. BUT, if you REALLY want good Deli Food, then stick to places like Bala Cynwyd, PA, or similar.... https://hymies.com/ I recall Hymie's Deli from often going there 65-years ago. The food is good. The sandwiches are GREAT. When will Asian Sevens learn that THIS is the taste and QUALITY that we demand...before we buy sandwitches from 7....again.
