  1. Besides playing it at half speed, you should really try playing it at quarter speed...BACKWARDS..... Be creative!
  2. Actually, I might think that The Brandenburg is sort of entry-level Bach. And then, branch out from there.... Maybe, after a while, listen to Rostropovich and Cello Solo....for example. Also, the Bach cantatas are amazing....
  3. Full of irony? This is my best guess, by the way.... Chill...a bit....dude!
  4. Hi Folks, I have been listening to Von Karajan for many, MANY years. Here is my favorite which is the Great Von Conducting the Great JS Bach's Brandenburg. What do you think? Good? Great? Sublime? Uplifting? Music for the GODS? JS Bach composed for God. And, Von Karajan was Godlike in his interpretation of JS Bach. So, I will try to attach the music here, if I can. Let's hope all goes as well as it should. Regards, Gamma Note: I have chosen to upload the compressed file I was able to find somewhere on the internet. You can just use something like 7UP to decompress the contained files, and listen. Truly Magnificent. Von Karajan and JS Bach are two of the things that make life worth living for me. NOTE2: Normally, I do not try to be so uplifting in my Topics because most people here are living in the gutter, I assume, and dislike any reference to a higher plane of life. Still, if you listen to JS Bach, the music can change your brain for the better. Of course, not all people on TV will be able to listen...since....I assume...they might just not have what it takes....IQ-wise. NOTE3: The reason I posted this Topic here is because.....The Farang Pub needs a bit more uplifting class, and Classical.... J.S. Bach - The Brandenburg Concertos (Karajan) (1965) [FLAC]-20230407T052818Z-001.zip
  5. Yes. Nobody sells genuine 1 TByte SSd for Bt.1000 The price of RAM/MemoryChips is sort of a commodity, worldwide prices of RAM/Memory are what they are.
  6. I find it intriguing and interesting that you were able to hold onto this book for 60 years. Faber published a number of great books over the years. But, how does one hold onto a book for 60 years, I would like to know. Wish I had done so.
  7. Large family, obviously. Cleanliness is next to Godliness, it is said... Think of the amount of electric power you saved by relying on the sun to dry all those clothes and sheets.
  8. Good. But, this must have been for a commercial operation?: 36 meters of cable to hang clothes seems like a lot for home use.
  9. Just thinking out loud, here: Instead of hemp, or SS pipe, what about surplus High-Voltage Transmission cable? This stuff is built to last, and it has been tested in the mountains of Taiwan during Super Typhoons. There must be some place to find a 12-meter piece that is being sold cheap. There are plenty of high-voltage wires around my house, for example. I must admit... This would make a heck of a clothesline.... So, some sort of wire is probably the best way to go. China sells High Voltage transmission wire, for example.
  10. I think I ALREADY alluded to the Topic of Knots when I mentioned Hitchcock.... Half-Hitch Clove-Hitch Rolling Hitch And the all-time-favorite.... The BOWLINE! What are you....a Day Man?, a First Mate?, a Yacht Builder? Or something?
  11. This is the BEST comment I have read on TV, thus far. My comments/posts don't even come close. Normally, one would need to braid a loop at the end of such a rope, or braid an end, etc.
  12. I am unaware of this meaning. A cracker, in slang in the US, usually means a hillbilly. To be crackers is to be crazy. A crackerjack of an individual would mean an exemplary person. And then, you have Animal Crackers in Shirley's soup, of course. Etc...
  13. If you are talking about a cracker in the southern part of the US, it just means some nutcase who has not seen Paris, and also someone who is not schooled, and most likely illiterate.
  14. Maybe well informed, but did you still miss this important story in FE, the Financial Express? https://thefinancialexpress.com.bd/lifestyle/others/how-nauru-became-the-most-obese-country-in-the-world I would be most surprised if SPAM in a Can is not mentioned. Spam is very welcome cargo in these places.
  15. Anyone wearing a green hat in China/Taiwan will be considered a cuckold. The Chinese expression: Dai Lu Mao .... is known to most Chinese....
  16. What is YOUR interpretation of WOKE, Wokeness? Just curious. Concerning Wokeism, Cancellation Culture, and Freedom of Speech.... Better listen to Noam....
  17. NO. Except, sometimes, I cannot help but hear about all the mass shootings in my home country, even though I try to stuff cotton in my ears. On November 10, for example.... Seems as if St. Croix is no longer the paradise it once was, 55 years ago, when I went to visit my roommate in the Virgin Islands. Still, it seems that it might be partially true that possession of firearms does not directly correlate with intentional homicide by gun.\: So, in reply to the OP.... Yes, I do keep track of some of the mass shootings in my home country. But, I really do not know why.
  18. Sounds really terrible for you. The only solution is to move, I think. You are too old to waste time trying to endure the unendurable. Only solution is to move out, and find someplace which is peaceful.
  19. Would it not be simpler just to move out of a condo and into a house? That is really the only fix. Moving into a house, instead of a condo, was my last resort, and I am thankful every day, these days, that I decided to make the move. Unless you live in a BrownStone in NYC, like Sherman McCoy, a house is better.
  20. Would it not also be a good idea to make it as easy as possible for those on retirement visa to remain here as long as possible, or until they croak, with as few restrictions as possible.... Maybe even add a few more enticements for those who wish to retire here or are already living here as retired people?
