  1. you sound like a real charmer
  2. good call. happy to come from a land where freedom of speech means something. now, let's hope appropriate respect is shown by those wishing to have their views heard.
  3. the world couldn't care less about thailand or the RTP.
  4. it is just getting it there that is difficult. actually very easy to transfer from home country account with OFX or wise
  5. bit late now biden. barn door horse bolted.
  6. excellent point. if israel had given Palestinians' opportunities, instead of focusing on making life for the average Palestinian so difficult, it would be much more difficult for hamas to have power and influence. israel reaps what it sows. until the two peoples learn to live together this circle of hate and violence will continue.
  7. really, that says more about you than the ladies in question.
  8. did you go to university? i did and i never carried books around, i studied in the library. sounds quite smart to not be carrying books and laptops around all day. good luck with your next attempted thai bash.
  9. do it yourself, then you'll have no chance of being misled. it's not difficult.
  10. spot on, i'd forgotten about all the prep involved, pretty grim. the procedure itself is fine. as for the cost, 38K baht is around what you'd pay in a uk private hospital, so sounds a little high.
  11. there's none so blind as those who don't want to see
  12. indeed, but nothing compared to the usa; biden or trump... for goodness sake...
  13. people is many countries make generalisations and have judgements about people in other countries. my thai friends are in the main professionals, many are educated abroad and some to masters level - in a second language don't forget - they understand perfectly how pensions work and most have pension with through their work place or have a personal pension plan.
  14. sorry to hear that, i've dealt with the london consulate for years both in person, by post and more recently by evisa application. while not the cheeriest bunch, they have always been helpful and prompt. last two applications approved in 4 days each time.
  15. carnation milk in coffee? if only the french had colonised, imagine the coffee, the bread and the bakeries...
  16. my mate did it recently. bangkok bank would give him an account but he needed a letter from the embassy confirming his citizenship (really!), so he walked out and round the corner to k bank. a bit of a faff with much photocopying, document stamping and signing and calls to HO for authoristation, but he now has an account.
  17. I'll be out of here by April. if it's so awful, and you're so unhappy, why wait so long? pack your bags and your troubles and head for the airport tout suite.
  18. hi, anyone have recent info on the processing time for a METV from the London consul? Thanks
  19. nonsense comment, 470 mass shootings in the usa so far this year - all angry because they can't afford something?!
  20. everyone's different, different objectives and goals for their life. however, coming from, and having wealth in, an economically stable country (in so much as anywhere is economically stable these days..) with an excellent and free healthcare system, i'd be mad to cut ties
  21. I've a friend coming on a METV, back in the day i used to do same day border runs to the Aranyaprathet/Poipet border every two months, is this still viable/possible from Bangkok? Thanks for any info.
  22. or, effective enforcement of existing legislation
  23. meanwhile, back in the real world...
