The two bombs dropped on Japan in August 1945 did kill hundreds of thousands of Japanese, however it actually saved millions of lives, both Japanese and American. If the Japanese had surrendered, in 1945 there would have been no need to drop the bombs, but the Japanese wouldn't. On another note if the Americans had not developed the atom bomb it would have been developed by some other country, including Germany!

It depends on what time you land to a large degree. I have landed early morning on my last three entries into Thailand at BKK airport, at around 8.00am. I had about a 3 minute wait at immigration, 2 people in front of me. After lunch time the waiting times increase exponentially. I know you can't always pick and choose, flights get delayed etc
