Agree 100%....buying is not the way to go, even when rents are not rock bottom. Just checked rents in my condo in BKK (yes I know this is a Pattaya forum), they were running around 30k/month before covid, one is now being advertised at 14k and most around 17k.

Good point......roads resurfaced, street lighting put in, traffic lights ......the area has boomed since we started coming here in 2006.

Watched the reenactment. The Swiss guy is stood in front of the Thai and then the Swiss guy leans forward and just pulls the gun toward himself, pulling the gun out of the Thai guy's hands. That seems very dangerous. The natural tendency would be for the trigger to be almost automatically pulled????

Catch 22? Large undocumented, cheap labour force keeps wages suppressed below a level Thai's find acceptable. However, the cheap labour force isn't quite big enough. So now you are stuck.......you can't raise wages as you are running a cheap, low wage economy to maximize profits, which means you can't attract Thais. Also raising wages when you have so many cheap laborers will cost a fortune and wipe out profits. The only solution is to allow even more cheap labour in, keeping Thais constantly unemployed, but profits up.

Looks like Thailand needs its own version of Brexit.....flush out all the cheap labour and pay their own people a decent wage. It seems to be working really well in the UK
