  1. Oct 2023 - prod / cons - 630kWh / 601kWh High - 29 Oct Low - 12 Oct (@ Kanchanaburi) Yesterday @ home 😲 Woke up this morning @ 73% ESSs topped up at 09;25 Charging car now A bit of 'local' exploring, only a couple nights overnight, 1 night at a time. So no long 7-10 days of non use at home, as previous months above.
  2. To the title ... I get bored no matter where live, and it's a challenge sometimes staying active in interested in TH, especially with so much time on my hands. Hence why O&A so much, compared to some. Living semi rural doesn't help, but only a few hours from interesting Krung Thep or landscape (southward). Another thought, if bored and left TH, who would be reading to chime in with a comment? One must really be bored where at now, if following forums about a country they no longer live in, or interest to visit again.
  3. 1 list put USA as #1 outside of Europe, and another listed only 3% go to SEA, CH, JP, TH. And all different years, including during covid. 2018 and it was France, USA, Germany at #7. TH @ #10, actually more like 12 or more, since a few had multiple destination in the #'d slot. So you either use 2019's #s or 2023's for anything close to accurate. Does voting it as a top destination actually mean people go there, or was the question, 'were would you go ?' How is the voting done ? NO mention of people actually visiting TH or any country ... hmm "OMG, ... TH is so cheap, you have to go" .... comes to mind "26th Danish Travel Award 2023 is the prestigious awards ceremony in the travel, tourism and aviation industry since 1996, organized by Travelmedia Nordic (Check-in.dk, Standby.dk and Turisme24.dk). The result is based on a survey of 3,000 Danish consumer. The survey was conducted by Danish analysis institute Epinion using Netpromotor score method." Net promoter score
  4. ESSs with LFP chemistry will last quite some time, depending on DOD. Also why we added a 2nd ESS (10kWh) for longevity of the banks. With 20kWh, they rarely discharge to <60%. Good for more than a few thousand cycles and still maintain 80% at end of that time period. Realistic ball park, 33% daily, so 1 cycle every 3 days. 5000 cycles = 15,000 days = 40+ years. 2500 cycles = 7,500 days = 20+ years Why not ... 10k = 30k = who cares, the wife is 47 yrs old already. source
  5. My stool blood tests were negative, yet polyps were removed during my colonoscopy. If you're 60 yrs or older, get scoped. Inexpensive and painless, or become a statistic. The death rate has dropped the past few decades, because of early detection. It's not rocket science. And if just unlucky enough, and you don't die, well, who doesn't want to sh!t in a bag the rest of their life.
  6. The walkways, crowed, blocked, uneven is probably the most negative aspect of Bangkok, and all of Thailand. IMHO That alone would turn me off of an international holiday here. That and the open sewer system. Wheels friendly, that's never going happen IMHO
  7. Depends. Hindsight for me, our system, 8kW, (Deye) and probably should have went with two 5kW inverters. Gives a bit of redundancy, in case one or only, has an oops. Also, the Deye 5kW is on the approved PEA list of inverters to use, as is their 10kW for 3 phase connections. We don't need 10kW and 5kW wouldn't be enough during a week of crap weather. Or charging the EVs, which was a complete after thought, and not even considered when sizing the system for the house. Thankfully produces more than enough for both, and then some on sunny days. Slight angled roof is preferred, or so our installer stated. When he assessed the job, said very good, not really kissing my butt, as contract was already signed. Just confirmed my design was a good one.
  8. Same with SeaGate drives (now part of WD), and the newer, better spec'd drives were cheaper in the USA, at the time. Really strange. Back in 2000, I used to buy lump crabmeat (shelled & picked through), excellent & inexpensive in USA, and yep, from TH. When I got here in 2000/2001, I couldn't find it, as good or as cheap. Better & cheaper than anything out of the Gulf of Mexico, or the drying up quantities out of Chesapeake Bay.
  9. Also grind if fine, and use a French press. Even pour through a natural paper filter, as the press screen won't catch the fine grinds. Plus it filters the cafestrol out, or so I read. I also think the fine grind gets you a stronger & better yield.
  10. Some of my Sony camera kit is made in TH, and, rare, but I'm happy if & when I can get the USA price here. Cheaper in USA ... That's just sad 😂
  11. Not from elephant, but from civits. Actually raised here at Chumphon, TH, and saw them, had coffee, and nothing special. Nothing like the prices quoted. Royal Development Project ร้านกาแฟขี้ชะมดโครงการพัฒนาส่วนพระองค์ จ.ชุมพร Kopi luwak Asian Palm Civit
  12. I missed that 2ACs running almost 24/7 (damn speed reading, today, 2X 🙄) Yea, that 7k is looking about right now. Especially in needing to run, means not very good, or major sun exposure and mediocre construction, if bldg that hot.
  13. Missed the price, oops There'e 3 Whizdom condo bldgs at same location, older - newer. Good Luck with the sale to OP
  14. More silliness, as this morning it was chilly and damp. GW/MMCC ... Lovin' it 🥶
  15. Price & complex name (Whizdom ?) would be helpful and avoid lots of annoying queries. Connect Inspire Essence
  16. What a crap production day today. Woke up, and I guess ESSs shy of 60%, as only 68% now. Just now started producing 2+kWh, (vs 1kWh or less earlier (9.7kWh of PV) so 3-4 hrs of that, and we'll be back at 100% before production drops off to ... not enough 😂 Using less than 300w: 2 frigs 1 fan 65" TV/laptop. Guess I should be on the phone, too small & annoying to type. Time for a park run with the dog 😎
  17. OP is talking about just a 3 month recon holiday, so more than enough room. Especially if having a small kitchenette, with medium size frig, water kettle & microwave. I would need at least 50sqm, if living here longer, just enough to do home cooking in. 1 bdrm, 1 eat in full kitchen.
  18. That's what the Q would be. An appointment, then, was something like 1 month wait. Excellent work, as long as you can still drive or have a 2nd mode of transport while in the Q, waiting your appointment date.
  19. Age of ACs and if inverters will make a big difference, and of course, keeping them maintained & clean (filters). ฿7000 = 1450 kWh/units of electric. That's about double our normal usage, and Sept wasn't exactly a hot month. We used 20kWh a day on average when home in Sept, so would be 600kWh @ ฿2800
  20. Only found 1, the Toyota dealer near RTAF Wing 23 base. Has quite the long Q though, or did, way back when used.
  21. Really haven't noticed beans sold in anything larger than 500gr bag, which we get delivered @205 per or 410 a kg, and order 3 kgs at at a time. 100% Arabica (espresso) beans As good as any others we've sampled and the least expensive I think we're done experimenting, as been a few years and still haven't found anything better. For others, that don't need to fondle their beans before buying: Cafe Roma using the French press of late:
  22. @DonniePeverley That sounds really high, as the most we us, is ~1000 kWh a month and that's <5000 PEA bill. We're abusive with the AC, use electric appliances in kitchen, and even charge EVa Not UK, but compared to USA, electric is not that cheap in TH, same or more depending where living in USA.
