  1. Don't the sites give you that information, to base decision on, time/cost/S&H & duty estimates if any. Your buying it, not us ... ????
  2. DECO SUSU model, and shy of 2 yrs owning, I'm bored, so early report. Maybe a month early, as have photo of, Sept 2021. Motor warranty will expire shortly, and have 1 yr left on the battery, which from above post, if lost anything, not noticeable. Have about 5500 kms on it, which means I drive that about half the time, on my daily, morning park/surfside cruise. 5500÷730 days, so rain & brutally hot keeps me & dog off it, half the days. Me & wife have taken some local cruises on it, and <1 hr probably. Only 1 oops, turning signal relay crapped out, and they sent it straight away, overnight. Swapped it out myself, as easier and quicker than dealer doing, since 70 kms away. Wife told me, that we now have a local dealer @ Yamaha/Honda & other, scooter shop. Very happy with it, performance, fun to ride & cost to operate, with no maintenance. Registered/tagged & insured (basic). Recommend the brand, and E-MBs themselves, as long as you don't plan on going too fast (top end) or too far. They also qualify for govt incentives. https://decogreenenergy.com/index.php/th/
  3. No interest myself, as TH is 3rd world enough. Not my photo, SR, March 2023 Credit: burksida from elsewhere
  4. Agree with part of that, as all phones seem to come with 'fast' chargers. No better, faster way to degrade them, than fast charge them all the time. Along with batteries you can't change yourself. I think they've just about ran out of any real tech upgrades people need, so lets just kill the batteries. sell sell sell
  5. I would use the comparison without the rent, as that's very subjective. Find their other info is fairly decent +/- a wee bit on most things.
  6. Yes & No, but for the OP, we would have to know which Big C it's coming from and their policy. That's one of those long piece of thread question.
  7. Ah ... the Grace Hotel, and the 1st hotel I ever stayed at in TH, 1999. Recommended by coworker who used it frequently. How to say this nicely ... I never took any of his recommendations afterwards. Worst hotel I think I've ever stayed at, and didn't care for location. Actually turned me off BKK, and simply used it as stopover on future visits. Usually staying at Suk 11 GH, on Suk 11, on future visits, finally warming up to BKK. Until they took the parking away, (GH gone now) then had to stay elsewhere. I actually leave my laptop in the room now, under the covers. Dog is usually in room w/'do not disturb' sign on door. Hotels may be 'pet friendly', but she is not. Usually leave camera gear in car, if can find shade w/window cracked open. Most hotels we stay at I feel quite secure, possessions wise, and will leave in room. Money, wallet, ID/PP always on person or in car. Only time we're not near the car is in Krung Thep area, as usually won't drive there. Which case the dog is with us in the car, and still laptop in the bed. Just have to remember not to sit on it when we return. I won't really stay in a hotel I don't feel comfortable leaving stuff in the room. Camera gear isn't cheap, so stays in the car.
  8. I like the ones that have the trophy 'wife' or 'girlfriend', that they see maybe 4-8 weeks out of the year ... if that.
  9. Assuming it's going to be used locally, pop into your local PoPo station, and ask them. Legally, if not registered, with plates. I can't see it being legal to drive on the streets. But, I see plenty of 2-3-4 wheeled EVs, with no plates, and yet to see one getting cited for anything. E-scooter, ebikes, motorcycle, 3 wheel mobility scooter, and 4 wheeled 'golf cart' types, all seem to be unregistered/no plates & tolerated where I am. I doubt if you'll get a definitive answer, as I'll so 'no', and surely someone will come along and 'correct me' telling me yes, legal. You get the same discussion with ebike. Me-motor + 2 or 3 wheels, it is motorcycle, others come on and spout, if 350w or 250w motor then no need, but nowhere can they show that written in Thai law.
  10. I think all of ours, except 1 (Sharp) were from HomePro & Mitsubishi units, 3 houses, 10 units (4/4/2) and never an issue, along with competitively prices. Present 2, inverter (heavy duty) and excellent, using very little electric. One running almost 24/7, the other 6-8hr a day.
  11. I think there's a few different ones on YT, as remember another doing something else, possibly different brand safe ... like pushing # key repeated. Someone has the have the passcode, for 'user oops', forgetting, and surely it's not going to be the manager after midnight of before 6AM.
  12. And don't lose your key, as a chickie friend of mine did in Mexico, and they had to tap/drill the lock, costing me a bit of pesos.
  13. I don't think so. Haven't seen any premium E-MB here. Even those have limited range at highway speeds. https://www.thetechedvocate.org/which-electric-motorcycles-have-the-most-range/
  14. I would think the reception safes are behind, in secure area, accessed only by 'trusted' employees. They will take responsibility for contents, I think.
  15. True, and they charge you 100 for return postage.
  16. I quite enjoyed that also, and I don't think there is a season 2. Think that was mini series, just the 6 eps.
  17. go elsewhere. I got married in Krung Thep, divorced in Udon Thani. Seems like a silly request to me, as divorce was one of, if not the simplest thing I've had done here at the Amphur office.
  18. Reception as in room safes are anything but.
  19. And for those curious, list of power stations: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_power_stations_in_Thailand We actually had a coal plant below us. Couple huge solar farms down that way now. My EVs were made in CH, so yes, their problem ???? E-MB might have been made or assembled here, per their website. But I have seen the exact same scooter on sale, at the 'Made in CH' sites. Been to their 'manufacturing site' and looks a bit more like a warehouse, unless wrong place.
  20. The complaint is about ground level, 'street' level exhaust fumes. Not sure where the coal burning, oil burning, electric generating plants are, but I don't think they are in metro Krung Thep, if any, as most electric is generated from natural gas in TH. Hence the hypocrisy, if using ICEVs while in TH. Actually, that last line use to be my signature. Not the fault of the EV owners, that the gov't & PEA/MEA is controlled by fossil fuel corporations. Not that we're all trying to save the planet, or all can even generate electric with solar or whatever other alternative. We can only control so much, and a few of us are lucky enough to use solar for our EVs. But I'm not going to complain about vehicle exhaust, and then hop in a ICEV without thinking I'm hypocrite..
  21. So true, even here in TH. They voted for and accepted the referendum & Constitution that was presented to them. Have only themselves to blame if not satisfied.
  22. Agree again, and not seeing any gouging. Or major changes in the past 20 years. Don't know where these people are living and experiencing all these changes.
  23. Medicare A is free to be on, not sure how 'free' it is to use. B C D E and so on is silly priced, so healthcare, even with insurance in USA is not free, or close to it. And I do know better, that's why I left after 45 years. Again, USA is totally irrelevant to living in TH. Thais pay income tax, IF, their income justifies, just like the USA. Though irrelevant to any expat issues. Such an intelligent person, I'm assuming you knew all this before you came here, and now you want them to change it ..... FOR YOUR BENEFIT. You're guest, try to act like it. I don't get invited to someone's house, for a fish dinner, bring a botte of wine, and demand filet mignon ... because I brought the wine ... ????
  24. When someone states the healthcare in TH or USA is free, because the gov't pays it, apparently not realizing where govt gets their money. Or says the locals here don't pay taxes, when VAT is applied to most purchases, one do have to wonder. Oh yea, they, some, many, also pay income taxes, depending on income, same as most countries. Imm & hospitals are probably thinking, rightfully so, that if you can't rustle up 800k to live here legally, you probably won't be paying any monthly payments to the hospital, if you didn't die, or hop the next plane back home, or if stayed in country.
