  1. I think you just screwed yourself for next 90 day report.
  2. ... now you did it. The farangs will start Q'ing up awaiting the monks return from alms collecting.
  3. I quite enjoy mine, POCO X3 NFC, purchased Nov 2020 and no issues. Wife has a RedMi Note 9 PRO she likes LAZ Xiaomi flagship store: https://www.lazada.co.th/shop/xiaomi
  4. Opposite of OP, and my immigration experiences have been at Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Hua Hin, for marriage, retirement, Thai national support visa extensions. But I do know ahead of time, what they want & show up with everything+ what they ask for. After the first time, I even make a point to put them in the order I see them assemble. All copies/signed before handing over, with originals handy if asked for. I find the legal paperwork part of staying in TH quite easy and inexpensive, though nothing to compare it to. Have never been asked for a 'tip', during the visa extension process from any officer. Pay with exact payment, which gives them small bank notes for those that don't. It's TH, and I don't expect everyone to speak fluent American, as I certainly don't speak fluent Thai of even close to it. I've enjoyed the ease of processing with all gov't offices;, land / auto transfers, DL by simply knowing what they want & providing it. Did the OP seriously state: "at the last counter, they asked, in THAI ONLY, for this residence paper... never heard of it" Does explain a lot, and IOs have my sympathies.
  5. I always found the place around the ring rd, and other neighborhoods better for relaxing, munching, music, sipping socializing. Only went night market in late afternoon, very early evening, to beat the crowd & get easy parking spot.
  6. Think your friend may have been mistaken, as I think 1, maybe 2 AN members ordered cars.
  7. Correct you are, brain freeze. Best music in town though, and I used to walk over from Preecha Market as my preferred munching & sipping area. Used to be able to cut through BKK H. parking area for a <500 meter stroll. Been more than a few years since party mode. Was at Preecha last year. edit:
  8. Tawan Daeng is right next to the night market, along with UD Town had a stage, still shows on google sites.. Had bands or big screen footie. Only negative, Chang products served, or used to be the exclusive beverage. Others available or BYO. Guessing a few people commenting actually haven't spent much time at the night market, or Udon Than. Great metro area for being single and not wanting/needing P4P.
  9. Use when appropriate, and an excellent flavor enhancer. Misunderstood is an understatement, as I use it sparingly, since many food naturally already have it. Foods naturally high in MSG: https://msgdish.com/glutamate-foods-naturally-contain-msg/
  10. Xiaomi fan here also. Poco is their brand also (for India) but widely available on their authorized resellers. Very nice cameras and values.
  11. You can repeat it, but doesn't make it so. If read Thai script news, you may find out about more. You seem to ignored my previous post: UT definitely one of the better, if not best large metros in TH to live in, if you don't mind the pollution or get out & about a lot. But don't try to tell me murders are rare, per se', and a bit of crime is very low. Not really something to worry about, if using common sense, but it does happen.
  12. If I wanted cheap, I would have kept the Mazda2, as nothing wrong with it or bought the Celerio or MG3 or Extender, if wanting a less expensive MG. ฿750 or ฿949k isn't cheap for 4 wheel transport. I don't do cheap, I do value for THB. Have a nice day ... putting you back on 'the list', and should know better by now. Same ol' broken record. You could just quote yourself from page 1 of this thread, save yourself the typing.
  13. Because the badge came with the car. Could be call Mao's Buggy for all I care. The day I'm impressed with the name or origin of a product, I'll stop shopping. And your car ... you have my condolences ... ???? You may get there quicker than me, driving the speed limit, but I'll take the comfort & savings over sitting in that thing, for hours on end. Plus I think I would need a roof rack.
  14. If you can't afford an MG, you certainly can't afford a Haval H6. MG's start <฿600k You can buy 2 MGs, Extender/truck (฿549) & MG5 (฿585) for starting price of Havel H6 (฿1.249M). Haval Jolion is about ฿900k On topic, as they are Chinese.
  15. No production in the UK, just the HQ @ Longbridge: "Development MG vehicles were primarily designed in United Kingdom between 2005 and 2019, with a reduced UK input since then. MG Motor UK HQ–SAIC UK Technical & Design Centre Longbridge has been retained and Research and Development is currently undertaken at the Longbridge Facility, with Longbridge being home to SMTC (SAIC Motor Technical Centre), which has significant design and engineering input into SAIC products globally. MG has headquarters in United Kingdom, with production in China, Thailand (from 2016) and India (since 2019) but the primary design was held at the Longbridge, Birmingham headquarter." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_Motor
  16. Nobody buys a vehicle because they think it's British. And nobody thinks MGs are British, unless living under that rock in a cave. They do keep the 'design' office open in the UK, but as far as anyone knows, could just be warehouse now for paperwork ???? All companies have an HQ somewhere... ... globalization make the location a bit of a mute subject. Anti MG & CH, ... and ... you drive a Celerio ???? Let that sink in ...
  17. By buying MG, they bought the distribution network, factories (though closed) and not so much the 'reputation' as that was tarnished enough. with no bragging rights ... IMHO Matter of fact, as stated before, when MG3s started showing up here, I was actually in the market, and thought, no way, not knowing old 'MG' had nothing to do with them, except maybe design. Did take a peek, inexpensive at the time, and you get what you pay for, and on par with the other inexpensive cars that I wouldn't buy; Celerio, Swift, March, Mirage, Varis & Vios, which we previously owned, and wouldn't buy again. Went with Mazda 2 at the time, which, I also wouldn't buy again. As you know, went with MG ZS after the M2. Only other cars in the running then, 2020, were Jazz, or Nissan Note (ugly dash & new model) but once test driving the ZS, there's really no reason to go back to the substandard ride & comfort level they offered. Thankfully the Chinese do a much better job than previous MG owners/makers.
  18. Next time you stroll by a local bus terminal, take a peek at some of the tires on the buses. Definitely give you a pause for thought. Was in a bus to CM that had a front blow out ... no drama, just came to a rolling stop (at night) but was the last interprovince bus I ever rode in.
  19. Let me know when you hear someone say "Did you see that Great Wall, that's a nice looking car" Selling to an international market, maybe you want them to use Chinese script also.
  20. If meaning the length of the rear overhang vs front, along with short wheelbase, then yea, that doesn't look right at all. No wonder driver lost control with a rear blow out. Looking a bit more normal:
  21. Not necessarily, especially if full size (700mm/26"), with quality components, display & most important, battery. You can buy DECO 1000w registered motorcycle for less than most 500-750-1000w full size ebikes. Although I have to say, I do enjoy riding my ebike, as much or more than my motorcycle. Just can't go as far (full electric) or take the dog with me, with the ebike.
  22. Yes, one does need to choose wisely at night markets, or any market area. Only eat (if there) food that is prepared fresh and in front of me. If not, then it gets microwaved at home. I like my hot...hot, and cold ... cold. Personally, I'm not into the super large night markets, just overkill for me. Udon Thani's 3 markets are easily walkable, and have plenty of food varietie, and enough competition, doing the same. I don't need 10 or 20 vendors making the same thing, 2 or 3 is more than enough. Cheaper because of their stall rental overhead, is far cheap than a brick & mortar building. With the huge traffic, if good, then can make profit on volume sales vs higher prices.
