  1. Peeked at but never drove a Celerio or Swift, but don't think I'll be suggesting them as cheap transport in the future. Daughter is in the market for a new car, and I suggested Celerio, and of course she likes the styling of the Swift. Until driving around with her friend, who owns a Swift, and said it's a POS. Considering she's coming from a 10+ yr old Mazda 2, that's saying a lot. Being the Celerio is ~150k cheaper than the Swift, she's rightfully thinking, the ride is probably even worse. She does a bit of highway driving, up to Rangsit frequently, so wants something better, comfort & power. Test driving the MG5 soon, as I think I'll do the same, and let her know my thoughts. Priced about the same as the Swift, so should be a better choice. Spec wise, no comparison, MG5 superior, larger more powerful engine, and a bunch of airbags ????
  2. Maybe some people just don't like shaving. Or like the look, and it does comes in handy in cold weather. I rarely didn't have facial hair after 25 yrs old, and only if job didn't allow it. Now I shave since it comes in grey, where top of my head is still salt/pepper, so the beard adds about 10yrs to my handsomeness.
  3. @Encid Think the only thing I'd do different, is get two 5kWh inverters instead of the one 8kWh. Extra kWh would never hurt, and nice to have 2, JIC 1 has an oops. Also the Deye's 5kWh inverter is on the approved PEA list, if they ever get around to pay for excess to the grid. 8kWh inverter is not, and the Deye 10kWh inverter is approved for 3 Phase.
  4. When Biden (29 yrs old) was campaigning against Cale Boggs (63 yrs old) for the Senate seat, 1972, 63 was apparently to old to be in politics. Pot & the kettle to mind ????
  5. Depends where you live, and where you do your border runs. Lived Udon Thani, so Nong Khai/Laos was convenient for turn around, or going into Vientiane for a night or 2. Great for a 'local' O&A, and even drove over a couple times, bringing back boxes of Beer Laos & Bailey's. BL & Bailey's at the time about half price in town. Ranong/Myanmar was another favorite, and cheap, as no visa require, just $5 or $10 USA fee, and pleasant long tail ride over. Again, bit of shopping if wanting, or you could do the casino thing. Only 2 that I've used, and actually miss doing, not that I'd make a special trip now. But good memories. Almost any reason is a good reason to get out of the house and or province.
  6. I don't, and haven't since I got my TH DL, never renewed. I can't understand why people use agents to do the simplest things, and then believe everything they say. Anything to make using them seem necessary.
  7. Guessing most have never read it, studied it, or has a clue what is even in it. Whoever has the best commercial wins .. as if there vote matters at all.
  8. You can say the same about fans of Biden. You can't fix stupid ????
  9. Only Ao Nang, which we only pass thru, if that. PP, haven't been in 20 yrs, and from photos & vids of, no desire to return, aside from having a dog, so not happening just for that reason.
  10. I guess my brothers and myself, along with most other childhood friends, fell through the 'vaccination cracks', as most people, kids, I know in our neighborhood, contracted all 3. Have a nice day
  11. I had to Google who it is ... ???? Haven't followed boxing since Frazier-Ali-Tyson ... the other one ????
  12. For us, not the religion, and actually enjoy part of the culture (food) that comes with it, but they still have an incident every now and then, and terrorist don't care who they target, Muzzys or Buddhist, and seem all are killed. Do seem to realize targeting non Thai tourist would be a mistake, as few have even been injured, with few exceptions. That does mean of course, way too many check points, or so I read, along with them being targets. Would like to visit, as those that do, recommend the bottom 3 or 4 provinces. We've been as far South as Phatthalung, entered top of Songkhla on East side, and Satun on the West side. There's a few species of birds that don't make it too far North, that I wouldn't mind getting a few snapshots of. "although it beats me why there is no road direct from Loei to Uttaradit." Don't ya just hate it, when they don't tunnel through hills just for us ????
  13. I did, as did my brothers (3), and we all contracted measles, mumps & chicken pox. All recovered. Did the vaccine help ... anyone's guess.
  14. How old is she, and in her defense, I doubt if most Yanks even know or have an opinion of it. Some still believe the USA got attacked in the Gulf of Tonkin ... if they are even aware of the Vietnam war, or who was involved ... go figure. Ignorance is Bliss
  15. When someone is exposed as being deceptive, it doesn't, wouldn't do them much good for their credibility on the campaign trial. The opposition would tear him apart. Are they still loyal ... ???
  16. The rules & regulation to produce craft beers in Thailand favor the big 2. Small breweries simply can't mass produce the volume needed to be within the regulations. Thus have to contract production out of TH, then import their product, at higher overhead cost & taxes, making their pricing uncompetitive. It's called control and protection of the Big 2.
  17. From my link posted above, and nothing suggested in that link, states whether the death was of a healthy or unhealthy person. "Results: Immunization of 1.8 million individuals and consumption of almost 3 million vaccine doses by the end of 1996 gave rise to 173 potentially serious reactions claimed to have been caused by MMR vaccination. In all, 77 neurologic, 73 allergic and 22 miscellaneous reactions and 1 death were reported" Remember, reported simply means, it was known, that is all. How many were not reported, in healthy or unhealthy people. We'll never know, but stating absolutes and generalization, usually isn't a good idea. IMHO
  18. Carlson would sink any chance DeSantis has. Try to keep up with current news Fox, lawsuits, fired.
  19. If you can't attack the message, then the messenger is open game for many, on both sides of any issues. Does take away from any argument they may present, whether valid or not.
  20. From your link, another one of those 'safe & effective' vaccines. "A local doctor diagnosed Atfan with measles – while rare, children can still become infected even after receiving the first of two injections."
  21. It's a choice parents need to make, as not all agree with all vaccinations. One study puts the negative incidents of MMR vaccinations at 5.3 per 100k. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11144371/ Along with, many countries, the disease is no longer endemic, almost: "According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 42% of the countries in the world and more than half of the European countries, including Switzerland since 2018, no longer have endemic measles circulations in 2019. This means that only rare imported or import-related cases were recorded." https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home/krankheiten/krankheiten-im-ueberblick/masern.html If these are the top 10, then not much of a threat in TH, just something to be aware of, JIC, symptoms appear and get early treatment. https://www.cdc.gov/globalhealth/measles/data/global-measles-outbreaks.html
  22. Not TH, and nobody has died from yet this year. Most recover with no lasting symptoms at all. Along with most Thais are vaccinated against it.
