  1. OK, I've been blessed, and no real tragedies in my life ... thankfully. One of my dogs died suddenly, and as traumatic as it was, at the time, the reality, though my best friend, it was dog, it wasn't a child/son, daughter or wife/GF. Any of those would be mind F.
  2. There is a F2 & 3 version. I own their SUSU model and love it. https://decogreenenergy.com/index.php/th/product-deco/electric-motorcycles/family-1
  3. Leave out the communist part, and you've basically described every govt. Only difference I'm seeing is population & area size. Plead ignorance about DN, as never been. Overall monthly price difference about 10% ... would that be a factor for anyone ?
  4. Again, Krung Thep area, IF passing thru, Seayou cafe&bar, 70/2 moo6 Suksawat Road, Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan 10290. Photo credit - labelled.
  5. Depends on 'you', gene pool, family history, life expectancy, age now, and mainly ... 'trust in insurance companies' ... which I lack. I know a few that got dropped when diagnosed terminal, or expensive treatment was obviously needed. Myself, self insured, and never had health insurance. Carried accident/health ins here for 1 yr and it was useless. Also inexpensive. To use had to be an accident, or admitted overnight. One doc when asked if I could use, he said ... "yea, no prob, but I have to admit you" This ... to have my ears cleaned ... what a scam as usually a 15 min office visit, for the mini pressure wash ... ???? Keep at least 1 mill for oops / health ins. Far less money that I would have spent over the past 48 years of ins. premiums if I had. At 67, it would be a be expensive, and they'd drop my here at 70-75-80 anyway. So why bother, and anything I would actually need it for, would be some terminal diagnosis, which case, they'd probably drop me or find some silly excuse not to cover.
  6. If 'registered', as many are, then no prob. Pretty sure the vendor I got Green Crack from was not, so saved his Ph#, since best price. Thai Stick purchase from Green Labs, assuming registered, as still on the net & promoted.
  7. I sip my beer incognito, via Yeti. 1 - I don't want to be that guy & 2 - it's cold, as I use 'ice pack' in a mini zip lock. Smoking ... common sense, away from prying eyes if in public, and downwind. It's not rocket science ... just courteous.
  8. Mostly in home cooking. We simply do a better job of it. Taste wise and not guessing about the ingredients. Will eat some Thai out, things that aren't the easiest to do at home. With exception of almost weekly Khao Soi run, we eat out about once a week, due to laziness or boredom.
  9. AND ... strange looks ? Staff still masked up ? Stares of disgust or envy ?
  10. Our 8kW (unofficial) on/off grid system is going 'OFF GRID'. OK, we'll still be connected, I think, as ฿500 a year insurance/back up, JIC a solar oops. Will only use if a solar oops. Curious how many times they be replacing the meter thinking it's broke, since still on -0- PEA had installed a 3 phase meter (temporarily) as out of 1 phase TOU meters. They popped over yesterday and replaced that with a digital meter ... ???? Spinning back no longer an option. We ordered another 10kW ESS. Using 5kW of ESS now, being very conservative after sunset. Using laptop & 65" TV & 1 AC (13k BTU) for 5 ish hours, and 2 frigs, till sunrise. When sun actually shows up, brutally, come Feb/Mar/Apr and bit of May, till rains start, we'll surely be wanting to use the main 24k BTU AC, for about 1 hr after sunset, and 2 hrs after sunrise. Since so overcast lately, since solar installed, 19 days ago, we really haven't needed to use the 24k BTU AC. That unit does most of the living area, with the 13k BTU unit in the bedroom. Both seem to be a bit of overkill, as the wifey is freezing when I'm quite comfy, and on occasion, chilly myself. That's embarrassing ????
  11. To add, both houses out of the 'main', 16 ish kms from town center, so not attractive to anyone not retired. Daily commute to work in town would be expensive, even on a motorbike for minimum wage earner, or car driven for someone with better earnings. Appreciation of property was strictly land driven, and not for structures. 1st house ... cost 800k, sold 1.4m (7 yr old), on 1 rai 2nd house ... cost 2m, sold 3.5, I think (6 yrs old), 3 rai After 2nd house sold, then listed (FB) 2 adjourning lots, which sold within 3 months of listing. Cost 240k, sold 1.3m (6 yr old) No appreciation of structures, since not in main downtown areas.
  12. Good info ... thanks Sort of mirrors our first sale, without mortgage drama. Listed with realtor, and I placed on local forum. Sold before realtor even posted on his site, via the forum. All of 2 days, since signed to realtor, till sold. A yank, so funds transferred from / to our USA accounts, as easier. Land office & done. 2 nd house was a bit different, unique design, out of town, across from Wat made it a hard sell in a buyers market. Took 3 years, again, all cash deal, from a foreigner who never saw the house in person, due to 'situation lockdown', airports closed w/ exceptions that he didn't fit. GF & family saw and did the transfer at land office. Listed with realtors (useless), FB, Thai sites, and referral was from our grounds keeper, who got his commission at closing. Realtor from 1st sale stopped doing business, others in the area (Udon Thani) were useless.
  13. Aside from the cannabis laws, a bit vague, but, the 'no smoking' laws would be the main issue. IF enforced, would restrict smoking at the dispensaries, coffee shops, or any vendor serving the public, especially if closed in & AC'd. That pretty specifically spelled out and would apply, IF enforced.
  14. pulling out stiches doesn't get any easier ... ... just pull from the 'knotted' end after cutting. Little alcohol or peroxide, extra protect against infection. Same thing you'll pay some clinic nurse to do.
  15. FB group for may be better source of info than here.
  16. I've never needed CC here/ TH. Have used for a few online purchases not having COD, but that's it.

Udon Thani, over by Nong Wua So ... 'Cafe de Wuaso'
  18. Work in progress ... we just moved in. Actually the view would be past our wall. Though the open field just got plowed over. Was jackfruit & pineapples. Cows & birds now. Views for folks are going to be; ...neighbors ... don't have any, so fields & coconuts ATM ...surf ... need to walk or scooter over to that, close enough but no AC, so don't hang out there until after 4pm, but it's < 5 kms away. Or 2pm at Ao Manao ... hills ... need to bit a bit higher, tree line blocks, but less than <10 kms away, and quite nice Lucky to be sandwiched in between 2 beautiful bays & hills to the west. Beats sitting in any bar, cafe, 4 walls without view ... which I believe was implied, I should get out more, to go indoors ???? I'll enjoy my doobies, fly drones, or life, on the veranda looking E, for sunrise or critters, or nice sunset from front porch, facing W.
