  1. Watched last night, and not what you expect if you saw the trailer on IMDB. Nice having something different offered, even if 5 or 6/10 (my rating). Enjoy both main actors, if not them, probably wouldn't have liked at all, or even gave it a pass. Well done, but no shining moments. Late chime in for new Thor ... one of worst movies I endured to the end, and wonder why I bothered. Neither comedic, nor dramatic, so failed at both. CGI is getting so boring now. Surprised it's still 6.5 on IMDB.
  2. Technically, legally, you are suppose to ... BUT ... as pointed out, nobody really cares, unless they are the 'criminal' element type. And only if they are 'on the run' ???? IF, in the extreme, someone 'official' should question it, then 'they just arrived' as you have 24 hrs to do the TM30. I've never bothered to do with out of country visitors.
  3. LAZ search engine, in a word ... sucks On the laptop, I use G, then add lazada.co.th to the search. After results show, then click on 'shopping', for different LAZ vendors & prices. If wanting to price compare, between LAZ, Shopee, Central, HomePro, etc, then use; priceza.com I don't bother with phone apps, as find them useless, and annoying with all the ads.
  4. Have you tried a bit of home baking, as quite easy to do. Don't need any special equip, just a bit of understanding of the process. Very easy to do. As suggested, Makro, though closest one is about 1 hr away, unless living at southern end of Chun district. Bread freezes well, for a month or so. I stock up sometimes, and Makro is less than 10 mins away ????
  5. First truly sunny AM day we've had since system was installed, back on 4 August. Passing the test of negative cooperation from the sun. Really total gray overcast to partly cloudy every day since, most with rain, drizzle to downpours. ESS topped up, 40-100% in about 1.5 hrs, (0730-0900hrs), while small AC & TV on (~0.5kWh), while doing so.
  6. hmm ... only thing I can think of, since not on again the following day, maybe driving through the water, and night air, with more water splashed up in the fuel tank underneath, cooled it enough to cause a bit of condensation in the tank, which the sensor noticed.
  7. Just trolls, and I ignore their post, along with adding to that ever growing 'ignore list'. Saw the 'cold/hot' weather post ... too funny & sad. 'ignored' ???? Should be retitled 'the Real 'something else' thread' Self censoring again ... oh my, how I've matured ... ????
  8. 4 day old news-blip will help answer that, and first 2:45 mins of vid address the mask issue on flights: For the OP & others, masks are NOT required 'by law', since June, but as the vid shows, suggested & worn by many.
  9. Dude, I had to tell you about Nong Prajak park in Udon Thani ... nuff said. Don't think there is enough bandwidth for me to point out all the things you missed while O&A. Assuming you missed, since not mentioning, most of the iconic sites in places you've been. Your reports are way off the mark, and little help to tourist, unless a sextourist or sexpat, which they probably know more than you already. Expat bar / massage district, and malls seem to be your main focus, and why I stated, 'why even bother visiting TH'.
  10. A few of us, are the exception, and know quite a bit, about all of Thailand. Reading your posts, it's obvious to many, even with your 'years of experience', you certainly do miss a lot. Reading your posts, I'm surprised you even bother visiting TH.
  11. Driving an ICE, why would they notice CSs. I don't notice karaokes, bars & massage shops, as they don't interest me. Buddha forbid they would actually look at the PlugShare link provided so many times, and enlighten themselves. I can tell you which PTTs have E85, and harder to find than a CS. I notice all the CSs now, and yes, always seem to be empty & available. I can tell where all the new & good coffee & cheesecake shops are, especially if they have a view. Along with most of the beaches on the Gulf (west) and most of the Andaman Sea beaches, as these are the things that I use & interest me.
  12. Agree, as I find posts I consider offensive to my senses, even more so, when receiving likes/love/thanks ???? Embarrassing that so many people can be that .... See, I can self-censor ... ???? On Topic, as always. 17 friends on FB, is about my only conx with past life in USA. Half of those are wife's family & 1 friend I met through her here. Only 2 of 3 brothers on FB, and 1 I'll talk with (msgr) maybe once a month, if that. The rest of our interaction is emojis ???? On those very few posts on FB. I'm probably the most active, due to being a photo bug, aside from 3 'wives' of 2 brothers & 1 friend, posting inspiration msgs, which I ignore, since I don't even follow them. Once a month I'll peek at there profile, make sure nobody died ???? My niece was dead for over a year, before I realized it, and this is one I flew to Sweden to visit. She meant that much to me, and somehow, they all forgot to tell me, or all thought the other did. Yet nobody noticed I didn't contact my brother & wife to extend my condolences. Close family, I think not.
  13. Many fail to see that ... ???? Along with forgetting, THEY volunteered to live here.
  14. Sunset @ Wang Kaew
  15. Didn't state he needs to wear a mask, simply stated, 'it would annoy him'. Judging from his OP, just seeing the sheep cowering & complying can affect some folks' 'happy thoughts' while among them. I'm crossed between chuckling & feeling sorry for them. Just another embarrassing human example of extreme ignorance ... IMHO Have to laugh, since the reality of it is simply too sad. Simply explains the state of the world, which I try not to participate in. No, you don't need to wear a mask 95% of the time. I rarely do. At the mall yesterday, and didn't bother; Swensen's (2 for 1 Tuesday), Lotus (as usual, no purchase, but next door). Don't wear at 7-11 anymore, just at Makro (nose exposed). Makro, being around fresh, unpackaged produce. The reason I tell myself, though can't get in within a mask anyway. No real enforcement once in. I read tourist don't bother in most locations, but that doesn't mean the OP wouldn't be mentally distressed simply seeing the silliness of others. Especially if visiting the metros, Krung Thep and malls, where still screening when entering ????
  16. Put your concerns at ease, as they ARE numerous & everywhere.
  17. You might want to give TH a pass. It would annoy you to no end. Mask are now a fashion accessory, and never going to stop being so.

  19. Daughter earns at least 30k a month (up to 50k), and that's enough for her living expense. Condo (10k), no car payment, not much self cooking/eating in. Unless having a lot more than 50k a month, she wouldn't change her lifestyle much, just better restaurants & more entertaining with friends. Of course, up/down country folks, living 3 generation in a home don't need as much. Other's not living with family, need at least 15k each or 30k a month as a couple, if having a car payment and some comforts.
  20. Location location location & time of day, when you ask, dictates the price vs meter use. Worst was ChinaTown at rush hours, and gave up after 5, and simply took the bus. Understandable, as I wouldn't want to be stuck on the other side of town, with no fare coming back in rush hour. People need to consider where & when. On a normal time of day, non tourist area or rush hour, and we never really had a problem. Of course never ask outside a hotel, standing / parked taxi, and always a 'working' taxi, looking for a fare. I don't even bother any more, if parking/mall nearby where we're going, then I'll drive, or simply take the bus, and preferred over driving. Avoids risk of accident away from home. Not a fan of BTS/MRT of late either, and would rather take the bus, rather than walk to, then up/down stairs to rail lines. No longer convenient or faster unless longer distances of 3 or 4 stations or more.
  21. Yep, same as the western farangs that save all year for that 1 week of hooker sex in Patts ????
  22. Only proves the elite have succeeded in crushing the middle class travelers' income with loss of jobs, and fake inflation the past 2.5 yrs. Hook, line & sinker ... ????
  23. You'll be amazed, I was, how much more electric is used if the filters are a bit clogged. We had to clean ours (filter) every couple months, or the AC would run very inefficiently. Only takes a minute or 2, using the butt wash. Replace and back to chilly again.
  24. Chrome user, since use G & Andoid everywhere. Never used IE / Edge ever since alternatives were available.
