I am sorry but I cannot give you any good news. This issue, quiet literally nearly resulted in me having a nervous breakdown. If you read my posts this was during the height of covid and I desperately needed to tx money in case of any emergency medical issues. I was not receiving SMS from both of my Australia banks. Spent days and hundreds of dollars on the phone to the banks and True and AIS when I changed sims. Just resulted in a tennis match....banks say checked everything problem at Thai end....Thai telecos say checked everything problem at bank end. I had a very rich old friend in Canada send me a credit card linked to his account so that took care of the emergency requirments. To this day I am still not receiving SMS from one of the banks. The other just started to work again several months back. In the wake of this situation I intend to move a good deal of my capital into the crypto space and away from banks. Now that Thai gubberment are tinkering with inbound remittance tax laws there is even more encouragement to do so.

OP you beat me to it. I was going to start a THB is collapsing thread. The taxing of incoming remitances is not the real issue. They intend to tap into the vast sea of money transferred back to Thailand from little ghosts working in Korea, Taiwan, Israel, et al. Little ghost are working illegally offshore (because of zero opportunities in Thailand) so they are out of their host countries tax systems. They are broke and the money for the trough (and the 10K digital wallet giveaway) has to come from somewhere. -

And pets. Don't forget that the Farang partner is always below dogs, cats and in your case, rabbits, in the pecking order.- 105 replies

Member account data can be set in the back end of a website. Most, if not all forum software platforms have this capability. I know this because I have built and "primed" several forum websites myself. -

Oh....Look....a new fake member account with a nonsense clickbait post. How refreshing... -
You give these corrupt retards way too much credit. They have no capacity whatsoever to innovate or come up with any new ideas themselves whatsoever. The only thing Thais are good at is copying. Last week they saw the Junta in Myanmar introduce a scheme to steal a minimum of 25% of all funds remitted into the country and decided to copy it.

How the <deleted> do they expect to get clarity of purpose from a government that is comprised of a coalition of FOURTEEN parties. This place has always been a circus. But now the results of this corruption and ineptitude are becoming a show stopper for expats. Start working on your bug out strategy right now.
