  1. The show stopper however is the inverted population pyramid.
  2. I don't think that you are as smart as you think you are. There are a number of very significant errors in your plan. But I could not be bothered wasting my time to highlight them for you. You will bump into them in due course.
  3. So....You say you used to have a six figure salary. But the cut off point for the full OAP as a single non homeowner person is only $543,750. So were earning a six figure salary but were not able to even save 500 grand?
  4. This far into the thread an not one mention of the Elephant in the Room. Does your son have Thai nationality?
  5. I don't drink, but I have always enjoyed my candy and cakes and cups of tea with milk and sugar. About a month ago I banned all simple carbs from my diet. No sugar No white rice No bread etc... I feel much much better for taking action, but the sad truth is that I now prepare all of my meals at home.
  6. Not everyone was as lucky as you with your make believe work as night shift security guard. They had normal lives and jobs and were not fortunate enough to save up the vast wealth you have accumulated. Are there any real members, who actually live in Thailand, still posting on this forum. All of these fake content posts are really starting to stink of desperation.
  7. One of those scrap recycling places will take it off your hands. The one in my village pays 8 baht per kg for bikes. So if you scooter is circa 150Kg you will get 1K2 baht for it. Make sure you still have the green book to show the recycle shop. Some ask to see it. Some dont. As another option, finos used to be the go to bike for the kids to do up for drag racing. You might ask sole lads at a tin shed bike repair shop if they want it. You could gift it to them....or you might be able to haggle a deal for a new tire on you other bike....or a oil change.....
  8. Everything is about money here in Thailand. Everything.
  9. Just buy a doll's house and you can live out your make believe life there.
  10. You have to have a free to marry document certified by the Australian Embassy to marry here. So no such thing as a secret marriage.
  11. The real reason why the airport will be built in Phang Nga cannot be mentioned here.
  12. Before the digital age it used to be referred to as kiting cheques.
  13. OP...if you are married how can you be receiving the full aged pension?
  14. You forgot to figure in Inflation. This year the ATO indexed CPI at 7.6%. So if his 9M capital was invested at 5% he would actually be losing 2.6% or 234K THB per year. Over ten years that is 2.34 Million baht loss. That said. He has enough money. A mate of mine is living off just the Oz pension, with a missus and a toddler (he is in his 70s). They rent a reasonable home and have a new car on finance.

  18. Letting toddlers play on a busy road.
  19. Naive comment. Have a read up upon the concept of sovereignty of the marketplace and get back to me.
  20. Surging EV sales are ill informed consumers.
  21. Rip Sir. No doubt he came to Thailand because his plan was to come and go at the same time. His timing was a little off but still a valiant effort.
  22. Government policies are not market forces.
