  1. I posted just last week that I have been selling my stuff here for the last 12 months and anyone that does not have a bug out strategy already in place will be caught off guard. As usual my post was riduculed.
  2. I quit eating all simple carb about a month ago. No sugar, rice, bread, etc. Never felt more healthy and have dropped 5 kg. Unfortunately I still have an incurale genetic blood disease, a prostate the size of a grapefruit, a a Morton's neuroma in both my feet.
  3. So...what are the tourist friendly policies....a reduction in tea money?
  4. Hilarious. I have been banging on about Thailand's and China's inverted population pyramids for well over a year now. I have been ridculed endlessly. Now there is some tin pot article about the issue and everyone is a self confessed expert. Jeesuz wept this forum has gone to the dogs.
  5. This thread is a good example of how depressing the content on this forum has become. The posts by fake accounts well outnumber those by real people. And the OP is just nonsense....sigh...
  6. @acepredatoranother 1.5% skim this morning: B1.025, S1.04. Circa 6% in six days.
  7. Having worked in Elizabeth Street I can honestly say Sydney is way overated. It takes a day, maybe two at the most to visit the cool and historic sights. And then you are just in a pretentious, overpriced, self important sh*t hole filled with zombies with glazed expressions. As for cultural or other such events, there is no way the OP would be able to afford to pay for all of his family to attend. IMHO he would be much better off to set up camp in a North Queensland farming town such as Ayre. Good climate, cheap rent and lots of seasonal work. He also needs to rethink the strategy to fly his family over on multiple occassions. That is a very poor use of his capital. If there are two trips with let's say, a total cost of 15K AUD each time (tickets, sight seeing etc) that is 700K THB that he could use to buy a red chanote block of land in Isaan and put it in his kid's or wife's name. In the future they will appreciate that far greater than the memory of eating a 12 dollar icecreams while looking at the harbour bridge. Also @4MyEgo I note you are now referring to your Thai parnter as your TGF whereas previously you referred to her as your wife. Amusing that you are now window dressing your back story in the wake of me raising the issue of fraud.
  8. @simon43 you have flat feet and a Morton's toe. Both conditions increase the likelihood that you will develop Morton's neuroma. I know this because I suffer a great deal from this condition in both my feet (more so in the left), almost to the point of losing my mobility. I have tried all shoe and prosthetic solutions but nothing has worked. There are sugical treatments but they have a very low success rate and the neuroma often comes back.
  9. Why don't you go back AFTER you have already reached the age to qualify. Then you would be staying in prison for two years on the taxpayer's dime and not yours? Also you should stop doing your exchange rate calculations based on today's rates. As China collapses and takes the AUD with it you will be getting nothing like the rate available today. In fact over the next five years the AUD is going to hit it all time historical lows. And well deserved due to the retarded decisions by successive governments to keep the housing ponzi afloat. Yes they will maintain million dollars prices for houses, but the AUD will be worthless.

  12. In the previous Russian invasion (before the Ruble collapsed) Phuket immigration had to crack down on the ED visa because it was being used by the Russian mafia and prostitutes to work in and around Patong. Compulsory classroom attendance, random school inspections and a raft of other measures where introduced. As always this was not to actually stop Russians using the ED visa for nefarious purposes, but rather to increase the stream of teamoney. I see similar pushback now from the Thais in Phuket as the Russian are back in force and working illegally right across the island (exactly as I predicted would happen a year ago but my posts were deleted as unfounded and speculative). Immigration will now start to move to implement more restrictions on the ED. I have met perhaps 50 Russians of all ages from Phuket that have visited the beaches in my region. All of them were on the ED. And I should add, many of them were families with Mum and Dad well over 50.
  13. I dont use social media. But thanks very much for that link. Low tech is always best. However who knows where my health will be in the future. I am skating on thin ice in that regard already. Something that I have done in the past and would consider doing again is not just riding around but doing so to raise money for a charity. I did that in a former life to raise money to buy equipment for a children's hospital.
  14. I wonder what Buffet and Munger would think of this moronic post. And if you think you money is safe in any bank nowadays you are entirely deluded.
  15. I never trade on margin. I managed to skim 2.5% yesterday and 1.5% today on the same fund. 4% is a solid return given only two days exposure to the underlying asset.
  16. Safer than liquid nitrogen (cryptherapy). I have a pair of stainless ice tongs. I just shatter pieces off the block with a hammer and wood chisel then have at it. Very low tech but it works and it does not cost 3500 baht and I do not lose a day (or my life) driving to Phuket.
  17. LOL...most... Some rare well publicised examples. Most end in divorce as you well know. Oh...and Americans are no longer de rigueur....Koreans are now the catch of the day.
  18. Might work for ex bar girls, rice farmers and slappers. Will not work for an educated attractive girl from middle class family. No need to worry about an upper class girl, she would not be seen dead with a farang.
  19. No food for thought here whatsoever.... Zero Thais regularly pay sinsot in excess of 1 million for a lady who is educated and from a good middle class family. I personally know three lads that have done so. Are you new to Thailand or do you have amnesia? Remember the story a few years back where the Thai BF capped both the mother and the daughter because the mother requested 1 million sin sot? Middle class family that owned a successful car parts business and the BF just walked into the shop and started shooting. And NEWS FLASH 1 million baht is chump change nowadays. A good deal of the members on this forum will suddenly realise that when the financial requirement for a Non-O extension is increased to 1.6 million. With all purchases in Thailand, it pays to be a prudent shopper. As I posted here months ago the GF's older brother in his late 50s married a very pretty 17 year old girl from their village. Whole village showed out for the wedding. Sinsot was laid out for all to see...50K THB.
  20. I grew tired of getting ripped off to have cryotherapy to remove sun spots. Last treatment in Phuket was 3500baht to treat just one small spot. I have now sourced a dry ice vendor and a 6 x 6 inch block is just 50THb. I now treat myself using dry ice. Works perfectly. I do not have genital warts however I have successfully removed large patches of kerotosis so should work on worts also.
  21. As I already posted weeks ago. The opposition is the best place for MFP to be right now. PT sold out on their voting mandate and they have lost those people for ever. They will try to bribe a few back with the 10K freebie but they are done for at the next election. The entire focus of the corrupt elite over the coming year will be to try and eradicate MFP and any reincarnations of it. Pita will be the first on the chopping block.
  22. Thanks for your detailed post and welcome to the forum. It is very refreshing to see a new member who is a real person and not another fake account posting nonsense. One of my primary greivances with my life in Thailand is that it is now too suburban. I moved here to escape the blandness of western life and was seeking a more gritty experience. I moved out of Phuket long ago and now live in a tiny fishing village however suburbia has now arrived here in with a bullet post covid. I speak good Thai but my Indonesian is much better. I would move to Indo but visa situation is a PITA...unless you marry a local which I have no desire to do. So the PI is in my crosshairs. Cooking for myself is not an issue, because I cook nearly all of my meals here in Thailand using the best ingredients I can find at the local market and seafood that I catch myself. If I move to PI I will be seeking out a location such as Coron Island that has pristine fishing grounds and very little tourism (except for a few enclaves). I live pretty much as a native here, but if I go to the PI I will go all in. Very first purchase will be a wooden sea fishing boat. This is me:
  23. You may recall that well over a year ago I predicted that there would be rampant crime on the horizon for Phuket as the meagre savings of the Russian refugees dried up and there was little available work. Of course I was ridiculed at the time and a number of my posts were removed because I was apparently speculating. I also predicted that there would be rivers of gold for immigration and the language school visa factories. Met 3 young Russians on a beach near my place today. All three on ED visa. I told them that more than a decade ago the Phuket authorities had to crack down on the ED visa because Russian mafia and prostitutes were using it as a vehicle to work in Patong. Guy told me that his language school told him that he can extend his ED visa for 3 years and then HE JUST HAS TO GET A NEW PASSPORT and then he can get another 3 years. Russians and Thais are a perfect match when it comes to crime and corruption.
  24. I don't think the income and cash in reserve is the issue. What breaks most of the chancers is that they get locked into financial commitments they cannot afford.. Friend of mine is good example. Has OAP, but knocked up a bargirl at 66, now has to pay for the kid and the bargirl, she extorted him into buying an expensive new car on finance, and just recently he has had to move up to her village because pushed out by rent increases down here due to the Russian invasion. Despite receiving his pension he still has to drawn down on his meagre savings each month to balance the household budget. Unsustainable situation....and what happens when there is financial medical emergency or otherwise. He is isolated up there, GF is out an about all day and he is left at home watching reruns. I told him not to move to her village because she will pick his bones clean up there and he has no safety net. GF works in the village but does not contribute one satang to the household budget. True love is truly grand....
