  1. It’s safe not to assume anything on any road anywhere. A lot of tourists assume well mannered drivers here, I’ve seen countless Chinese tourists walk out crossing the road without looking, surprised don’t hear more about them getting slammed into. In the US it’s mandatory for drivers to stop when pedestrians are attempting to cross a crosswalk/zebra. Many western tourists believe such entitlements apply here. During congested traffic it’s difficult for motorcyclists to see the blind spots blocked by vehicles at a crosswalk, pedestrians tend to get hit when motorcyclists and even cars split lanes to get around what they perceive as a traffic jam.
  2. I think a sign posted 35฿ for krapao would attract more customers than an air purifier in a leaky hole-in-the-wall joint, which are the bulk of the shops. No, sorry not a chance. Nice idea though. That would take an immense amount of resources, no chance of it happening. Though they could use remote sensing if strategically implemented.
  3. There were a few times I fired off rounds to spook off some bears in the Okanagan, I don’t think anyone in there right mind would wander around in the boonies in some area of Alaska and the northern areas of the Pacific Northwest. But no one needs a firearm until they need one.
  4. Nothing at the IO is really worth getting worked up about over such a menial task. Though some get overwhelmed unnerved about minor inconveniences and can’t handle it, is probably why many use agents
  5. I also had a SCAR17s, 2 44 mags, over-under 22-410, pistol grip Winchester 12g and a few others. Never shot a living thing, though spent countless thousands of rounds. Though I’m thrilled it gets in the crawl of the wingnuts, brings me great joy.
  6. I’ve never encountered any issues or problems with the cm IO or the IO’s employees, pre-tent days or the during the tent era. Any issues were of my own making, forgetting to sign or print a form, minor and nothing to complain about concerning the way the IO processes business. Though some make it tough on themselves for whatever reason. Happy holidays to you too!
  7. Adem, but I doubt he drank coffee or spoke English, so we wouldn’t have much of a conversation.
  8. Assimilating too much might get you in trouble as in glancing left right left right. Stop and take a a deliberate concerted look each way no matter what country you’re in, city or rural.
  9. “WARSAW, Dec 29 (Reuters) - Poland summoned the Russian charge d'affaires and demanded an explanation for the violation of Poland's airspace by a missile and an immediate halt to such activities, Poland's foreign ministry said in a statement on Friday evening. According to the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, a Russian missile entered the airspace of the NATO member on Friday morning. Ukrainian authorities had reported a mass attack on various cities throughout Ukraine overnight.” https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/unidentified-object-entered-poland-direction-ukraine-says-polish-army-2023-12-29/
  10. Is exactly why the Tent People are there appointment or not, so as not to waste people’s time making everyone wait because of unprepared people clogging up the IO.
  11. No amount of personal wealth will change my spending habits and lifestyle. I simply don’t obsess over money, there are too many other good things in life, money is an art of compartmentalization of ancillaries.
  12. Genesis is not a science text book And no one takes the Bible literally In my opinion...God brought physical mankind into being over billions of years but he didn’t create us humans until one day when he gave a particular human a soul. God created us “in his image” Remember God is not material so “in his image” is a spiritual description not a physical description (Despite Michelangelo’s beautiful painting on the ceiling of the Sistine chapel) Before that man (Neanderthal or cro magnon) was just a relatively advanced ape without a human soul. So as to when Adam and Eve entered into the history isnt clear to me though it was ~120,000 - 156000 years ago. But I don’t personally think it HAS to correspond to the fossil record. The physical shell of man could have been around for millions of years prior to God putting his image into it. I’ll give you another physical comparison: Carbon atoms. The Carbon atoms in you and I existed for 13-15 billion years before they became part of man. That’s not shocking. Likewise the physical body of man may have existed fully formed with DNA and a big brain for millions of years before God gave that shell a soul. They could have created culture and cave art and spears etc. ...but they weren’t human until God gave that shell a soul and created Adam. So then with the soul of God came also the responsibility of not eating that ever so popular “apple” which could have been anything, maybe Eve got pissed at Adam and ate the family cat named Apple that the family admired, an opposing act of evil that offended God…the beginning of bad behavior that evolved to the point where we are now. That being said, human brains/minds are too finite to comprehend God. ...End of my opinion.
  13. Use earplugs
  14. This is also a breaker box? Wire the high amp/watt appliances to this box with the appropriate breaker. This is the same setup I use on the a/c’s, double breakers. We don’t have an oven, wife has no desire so I can’t speak for personal experience with ovens in TH
  15. I’m trying to envision your situation. I assume the wall box is the circuit breaker? Put a power outlet in the wall where you want the oven. From the circuit breaker box lead the wiring to the power outlet. If you don’t want unsightly conduits and wiring visible, chisel conduit routes in the concrete , lay the wire, plaster over with concrete and paint.
  16. Have you talked to any of the shops that work on Kawasakis? I’m sure a good shop can locate one.
  17. Because it’s easy and I’m not a lazy person minded person. And don’t trust anyone but myself.
  18. Papa Nino made the best pizza in Hawaii Kai, Oahu back in the 70’s, possibly the best pizza I’ve ever had and yes he made Hawaiian pizza, real authentic pizza made by a real Sicilian pizza maker.
  19. Me too, difficult to find a good pizza. Being an American I’m fussy about any attempt of American type cooking, especially New York pizza. Though Dukes in cm does a pretty good job at it, still not up to par. I concede to the wife’s cooking which is superior to to most anything else I’ve eaten here.
  20. As long as your friend didn’t respond in any physical response then sure, make a police report. Would be curious of the outcome.
  21. A psychosis response opposed to self control. Prisons are full of them.
  22. Thanks for an entertaining story about a couple of psycho guys
