Bose noise cancelling headphones. Not sure if you can wear headphones and listen to music, but have done this in the past while working on complex data analysis. As a thought, have a loud speaker discussion with HR whilst discussing he's having one of his loud speaker conversations! More scientific ways to control open office noise are plants and acoustic desk dividers. Maybe the new Thai growth horticultural industry could provide a solution! Have you thought of approaching his boss?

VPN vs Cloud Computers for connecting to home from Thailand
RayWright replied to WaveHunter's topic in IT and Computers
Similar subject to the one last month about watching the football World Cup. https://aseannow.com/topic/1277599-how-to-watch-the-world-cup-for-dummies/?do=findComment&comment=17723324 https://aseannow.com/topic/1277599-how-to-watch-the-world-cup-for-dummies/?do=findComment&comment=17724024 As I said previously, I use a PC at a friend's house with TeamViewer installed. This means my UK Internet access is from a domestic / residential floating BT IP address range, so not likely to be picked up as a VPN IP address, which can be easily spotted by the volume of traffic originating from the same IP address. So if your say the BBC, then can easily spot 100+ connections from the same IP address accessing streaming services at the same time. Also if you run a WhoIs on an IP address, the ownership and geographical location can be easily read and logically questioned. I mostly use Vyper as a VPN for non financial / TV activities, however their ownership details quite often uses their main USA address for a VPN connection that's not connected into the USA. So VPN into London Docklands shows as being in Las Vegas, Navada. When you check the WhoIs record the company address shows as being in Amsterdam Airport! With most financial services moving to 2FA, (and Google etc), then also beneficial to have an in-country mobile phone. That way any texts or calls are deemed local to your "home country", improving the perception your not abroad. I use the cheapest monthly PAYG mobile service, but only pay every 3 months, this keeps the mobile number active, so able to receive calls and texts. Any outgoing calls are via my local AIS mobile. For further impressions of being in-country, then use a in-country Skype number as well, so further creating the impression of a domestic landline or business number. -

How much did it cost you to have a laptop cleaned?

I've used RS Components Air-Duster for years, ideal on Laptops. Although, don't use it as a hairdryer! -

I "very interesting" question you propose. I assumed it was clothes dye as it was in the clothes washing liquid / tabs / powder and clothes conditioner aisle. However, as Thai supermarkets, Lotus especially, adopt the illogical layout approach; you might have a point. It didn't smell like loo flush though. Just tried to find it on their website, Clothes Washing falls under the top level category of "household items and monks"! Images of the Electric Monk from Douglas Adam's Dirk Gently.

Lotus has the blue washing dye. From memory was a 250ml size blue/black plastic bottle. Bought some by mistake last year, as all the writing was in Thai and the small bottle was in the clothes washing section, and me thinking it was a travel sized bottle of clothes washing liquid.

Store your favourite tracks/ albums / artists on your personal mobile phone and Bluetooth it to your car's multimedia system. 'Er in doors can do the same onto her phone, just select which phone you want connected. If you've got a classic type car (no Bluetooth), use the old fashioned plug-in cassette with a headphone jack, or use a FM to Bluetooth cigarette lighter adapter. -
Beagle bag sniffers at Suvarnibhumi airport

Do you prefer clockwise haggis (Left legs longer than right legs) or anti-clockwise haggis (Right legs longer than left legs)? My favorite, Macsween's of Edinburgh, as bought from the old shop in Bruntsfield, Neeps and Tatties, and a slug of Scottish gravy as celebrated on January 25th. -

Before I complain....

Not sure of age of your daughter, but retention and comprehension varies between children and across the academic day, also how calm is the class room? You mention he is a maths teacher, could the topic have been geometry? If the discussion was about circles, spheres and planes, then a simple misunderstanding of the the centre plane of a sphere could easily be described as a flat section of the earth. Had a similar issue years ago with mine, without going into specifics, colared the teacher after school a couple of days later, turns out what he was teaching was totally misunderstood by my daughter, the end of week test confirmed she hadn't grasped what was being taught.
