Belief in Karma means Buddhist people don't sweat forgiveness like Christians do. If you wronged me, it's on your head. No need for me to get further involved in your bad karma stream at the expense of my own. Great article explaining this: https://tricycle.org/magazine/forgiveness-not-buddhist/

Buddha ate meat. He died from eating tainted meat. He knew the meat was tainted, but he decided it was Beam O' Light time for his tired ol' temporal frame. The only Buddhists who don't eat meat live in places like San Francisco.

"Karma Is A Boomerang". I saw it on a tip jar in a Starbucks in Maui. Brilliant. Can't fault it.

How do you personally ghost someone?

Just to update: I perform a role of Jedi Knight-mentor, offering banal bromides like,"look before you leap", and virtually worthless general encouragement. He wants to train "troubled" Myanmar youth to make macrame plant hangers. I hadn't thought about macrame plant hanger since my bell bottom days. Lovely with a Spider plant. It goes without saying that he has never applied bead to twine and made one himself. As always, he wants someone else to help the troubled youth make plant hangers while he's just basks in the plant hanger vision. "Why are the youth necessarily troubled?", I asked. "If they're poor", he said, "They're troubled". He needs seed money for this scheme, more for Google placement than for twine; he also needs a lot of Thai people with nothing to do to help the troubled youth. And of course, he needs at least a half dozen troubled youth, specifically of the Myanmar variety. He'd take a hill tribe person, but he told me that they were already being helped to death and nobody can get near them. I told him: "I student-taught in Harlem. I thought MF was my middle name. Seriously, re-think this troubled youth thing, partic from a beading craft perspective. You don't know 'em, like I know 'em." Anyway, his latest business plan has arrived in my inbox. He's going to send it to "The UN". -

This would be a really opportune time to become a porn addict. -
No more time left for another huge story. I am huge story-d out, not to mention running out of road myself.

My 3rd marriage was at 60. Best thing I ever did. Would there be a 4th? No, maybe a FWB or two. Or just coast to the end doing my thing.

Trump is the most unsubtle criminal since The Hamburgler. -
I'm not hearing any negatives against selling. But at 80, you're on the long goodbye tour and you should take as long as you need to feel right about letting stuff go. At least, I hope it's a long goodbye tour for you.

The family aspect killed the Ha Long Bay cruise for me after a quick look on Youtube. I was going to float down the Amazon next year, but it too looks full of bonding families. Yuck.

Pizza and burgers, it's not even close. Hard to get a non-soggy in the middle pizza outside the states. A a proper burger is a mix of cuts, not just ground beef. I'm only good for a hot dog a decade, but most people want the amurrican one. That said, I just ordered in Dukes, including a hot dog (and onion rings -they are onion ring-gods). Will report back.

Agree, but add a grand for BKK. $100 a night really kills it in BKK. We also like the prospect of a restaurant (or plural) where we might even eat twice. Two repeat visits in this category: Hotel Nikko (in general, we prefer Japanese-oriented hotels): https://www.okura-nikko.com/thailand/bangkok/hotel-nikko-bangkok/?gad=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8MrbnKnegAMVkg6DAx0C9QlSEAAYASAAEgJgyfD_BwE Hotel Craftsman (prob our plushest for the $$$ to date) https://www.craftsmanbangkok.com

This is mainly for my wife. I could just go dark in a heartbeat. I admire the young for inventing ghosting. Back in my day, all we had was, "It's not you, it's me". -
The nicer the place, the more enticing the fruit. Was just at The Pai Boutique Village. They had pre-Covid-like Mango on offer. No way you're seeing a lychee under 2,000 baht. A mangosteen? Maybe at The Peninsula. At the base level it's the not-bad trinity: Ok-ish watermelon, too-hard banana, end of life span pineapple. You're who the omelette station was invented for. Always a tad runny and under-done for my taste, but you can specify, "three bacon".

Peanut butter and/or sliced cheese at the brekkie buffet. It means I will soon be blissfully sitting among Americans. Also: Not too much dragonfruit, let's see some non-hard melon, and pineapple that is not well past its prime.

There's a mystery kitchen down the road (Inside The Victoria Hotel) that will make prob 200 diff dishes, heavy on the western food. A spag Bol as good as Why Not? Restaurant nearby is 200 baht. Their Green Curry is just as good. Name your protein, specify your spice-level. Very good Mex is a 20 minutes wait. Dukes takes a whole half-hour. Our longest wait, very good Indonesian from across town, takes 40 minutes (because we always order a lot). Ging Gri 5* Thai nearby is only 15 minutes, order to door. When I first got here 10 months ago, I ate out 100%. Now it's 50%. On the other hand, we will spend 500 baht on Grab cab to eat 60 baht noodles at Khao Soi Prince in Mae Rim.

I never blame the place, and certainly not the bad-fit JesusLand that I literally feel like I was released from jail from. I'm more like, "It's all great, but most places are not selling what I'm dying to buy".

I'm going to start my new dead-wood ghosting thing right here with you. Tho a classic ghosting is where you just stop cold. Please don't feel the need to respond.
