  1. I just got an email from Wise, informing me that they now have a negative interest rate if the Euro balance on my "Wise borderless" account exceeds 3000 Euro.
  2. How would changing the name on her Thai ID card help her?
  3. Most home internet packages come with a free sim card, just check the AIS website. For the second sim card I'd recommend to buy a sim card that comes with a one year internet package on Shopee or Lazada, costs effectively 100-150 Baht per month, but you have to get a new phone number, you can't keep your old one.
  4. Theoretically possible that the firmware has been tampered. If you are worried about this you should flash the firmware yourself, then you know 100% what's on your phone.
  5. You need to have a voucher, or need to satisfy certain other requirements, as explained somewhere in the fine print. Here some additional info from Shopee, which shows if you hover the "?" next to "Free shipping" It isn't a scam, because you clearly see the shipping fee before you pay, but I would agree that it's misleading, because on the product page people assume that they get free shipping.
  6. Or you could open the "Control Panel", then click on: -> Network and Internet -> View network status and tasks -> Connections: Wifi (Name of your wifi) -> Wireless properties -> Security -> Show characters
  7. Or she just shows her OZ license + IDP, doesn't talk Thai, the police assumes she is a foreigner and she won't have to pay a fine for driving without license. A Thai can't legally use a foreign license (+IDP) to drive in Thailand.
  8. Depends on if you are talking about people who have a license or not. Licensed sellers pay 74 Baht per ticket to the government, and they are supposed to sell them for 80. They can return unsold tickets to the government. Then there are sellers who get tickets from those licensed sellers and try to sell them on. These usually have to pay 90 Baht per ticket (This gives them the option to return unsold tickets to their bosses), and will then usually sell them for 100 Baht. Selling a ticket for more than 80 Baht is illegal in any case.
  9. Or that certain software doesn't run on Mac, especially since they moved away from Intel CPUs. Or the price Tag. If I wanted the performance, screen, memory etc. that my current Laptop has from a Macbook, I would have to pay 139k Baht. My Laptop costs 71k, that's basically half the cost. I don't want you to get the impression that I think Macbooks are bad, or are generally overpriced, but they just don't make sense for everybody, it always depends on the user profile. There are definitely cases where a Macbook makes sense. One "problem" with many Apple users is, that before they had a few years old Android phone which they once bought for 10k, now they buy a 30k Iphone, or they had an older Windows laptop that they bought for 20k, and now they buy a 60k Macbook, then they are suddenly like "Apple is so much better than [other manufacturer]".
  10. Thailand Pass will not be required after 1st July.
  11. Then he probably deleted his account, you will have to contact him somehow else.
  12. KTB has a wallet app. To be able to use this wallet app you need to confirm your identity, one way to do this is at the ATM with your (if you are Thai) ID card. This has nothing to do with withdrawing money.
  13. This probably means that he deleted his Line account. If you blocked him you can restore him under Settings -> Friends -> Blocked accounts
  14. I regularly buy this: https://www.makroclick.com/th/products/123147-aro-frozen-chicken-breast-without-skin-2-kg/ Price now 219THB, last year I paid 149THB if I remember correctly.
  15. Currently diesel is subsidized already. Freezing the prices of the products is more effective, the subsidization of diesel might just be turned into more profit by the companies.
  16. Time to renew my driving license soon (just waiting for certificate of residence) at the DLT on the way to Hang Dong. This time it will be 2 to 5 years. Anything other required than certificate of residence and doctors certificate? Do I have to make an appointment?
  17. If I remember correctly, the last time I went to get a certificate of residence I had to come one day, they wanted 500 Baht from me, and I had to come back the next day to pick it up. Since then the process has changed, I requested a certificate of residence today. What hasn't changed is the application window, you have to apply Monday to Friday before 11:59am. But now they only ask for 40 Baht for postal fee and they will send me the certificate of residence to my home. I will have to wait 18 days for it though. The person at the counter was friendly and effective, I was in and out in 2 minutes. I got the EMS tracking number on the spot, so in case it shouldn't arrive I can trace it. Required documents: - Passport copies - Copy of TM30 - A picture of me
