Want to buy locally 3 outlet Extension Cords - without power strip.
FriendlyFarang replied to JimmyJ's topic in Chiang Mai
That's not what OP is looking for. These can by the way be bought at every Global House or Homepro, maybe even Big C or Tesco. -
For electronics, furniture etc. Facebook marketplace has worked best for me. When I tried selling electronics on Kaidee nearly only scammers contacted me. Kaidee worked fine for vehicles though. 95% of people who buy second hand stuff will pick it up themself because they are afraid of scammers, even low value items. The 5% who opt. for shipping will usually ask you to up a short video showing you and the item, or ask you to write something specific on a piece of paper and take a picture of it together with the items..

Conditions to buy a motorcycle
FriendlyFarang replied to galenjones's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
There is no such law -
A 220k sporty looking street bike vs. 460k street legal race track bike. They are not even worth comparing, even if they might look similar at first glance.

The gear depends on your desired speed. So what speed does "driving in traffic" mean? If very slow, then obviously 1st gear. It's not an automatic transmission, you are supposed to pull the clutch if you are going slower than idle speed. Search for something like "feathering the clutch" on Google.

He wants to accelerate as fast as possible, and at this RPM the engine probably has the highest power output. If you want to know how much power at which RPM a bike delivers, just Google image search for "[motorbike model] dyno", for example "honda cb500 dyno", you will then find graphs giving you this information. If you look at motorbike specs, it usually states something like (just random numbers as example) "50HP @ 8000RPM", this is the RPM which provides you with the maximum power. If you look at the tachometer of Moto GP riders, you will notice that they do the same.

moving to another province
FriendlyFarang replied to hadock's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
"The housemaster, the owner or the possessor of the residence, or the hotel manager where the alien, receiving permission to stay temporary in the Kingdom has stayed, must notify the competent official of the Immigration Office [...]" Op is renting the condo, this makes him the possessor, so he has as much obligation to report himself to immigration as the landlord has. One person doing it is enough, but if neither does it either (or both) of them can be fined. @OP: Just do a TM30, or have your landlord do one for you, and you are good to go. -
How to stay 55 days?
FriendlyFarang replied to khman's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You should have a stamp in your passport telling you until which date you can stay. You can extend it by 30 days at immigration. -
170k for some foam and cables.... even 30k sounds expensive for that and I'm already taking into consideration that it's a BMW.

I can just speculate, but when the insurance company denies the payout the hospital will try to get the money from your friend. If they report him to immigration and immigration deports and blacklists him, the hospital will never see the money. So they might decide to not report him. Of course they will want the money from him.

I would probably just take something that's fine, like for example grout, mix it with a lot of water and let it flow in there. Put a little bit inside, wait a day, put some more inside... until it's full. If it doesn't want to go inside get a syringe and a needle, I do of course not know if grout is fine enough to fit through.

Switching visa and keeping work permit
FriendlyFarang replied to Lolothai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Ah ok, I assumed you are on an extension for being married. In this case just apply for an extension based on working at immigration, there is no need to change the visa. -

FriendlyFarang replied to Lolothai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You don't switch visas. When your extension for marriage ends you just apply for an extension for working. You keep the same work permit. If you want to clear your situation now, and can afford to take 2 or 3 days off, you could make a trip to Vientiane (leaving Thailand cancels your current extension, unless you have a re-entry permit), and then apply for a non-B visa at the Thai embassy there. Two months later you then apply for the extension for working. -

You don't need her every 3 months. Your extension is also valid until your divorce is finalized (or until the extension expires), if you want to prolong it you could contest it. -
Moto on credit agreement in arrears.
FriendlyFarang replied to The Fugitive's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
If the bank gets paid they will of course not report it as stolen, but in your previous post it sounds like the plan is to not pay them. -

It's not his bike, it's the bank's bike. If the bank doesn't get paid and doesn't get the vehicle, at some point they will report it as stolen, then your Mrs is hiding stolen property, in my opinion that's not a right thing to do. You won't be able to pay tax or buy insurance once it's reported as stolen. I definitely would feel nervous driving a stolen vehicle, if the driver gets somehow involved with police (accident, checkpoint...) the vehicle might get confiscated and the driver might spend some time in jail for driving a stolen vehicle. -
That's by the way for the 110cc model. For the current 125cc model they advertise 71.4. For my 125cc model they advertised 64. As I said, I get about 52. That's a nearly 20% difference. I don't doubt that it's impossible to reach this number, but I'm certain that to reach this number, you have to accelerate very careful, be very considerate when breaking, and you should probably not go much above 50km/h. Taking these numbers, with the newest Wave 125 I should get about 57km/l.
-
That's a lie, I have one from 3 years ago and it uses about 1.9l/100km or 52km/l in my real world usage (small trips here and there, sometimes a little bit longer trip somewhere), and I think the current Wave is basically identical. Maybe if you don't exceed 50km/h you can achieve Honda's numbers. I had auto scooters in the past, can't remember the exact numbers anymore, but iirc it was a bit below 2.5l/100km. So yes, auto scooters use more, but definitely not twice as much as much as another poster suggested, and even for a motorcycle taxi, the effective cost difference is relatively small.

Cheapest would be E85, this might destroy his engine....

I think no scooter has this from factory. These stickers are put there by rental shops, so if OP bought this scooter (and it wasn't a second hand one from a rental shop), it doesn't have such a sticker.

A while ago here was a thread about testosterone, with a question about Testosterone from Rotexmedica being out of stock in Thailand. Back then (maybe 2 months ago already?) I called the distributor, and they told me in 1-2 months it should be available again (which would have been last month or so), which I posted in that thread. My stock is running low now, so I called them again, and I did again get the info "in 1-2 months". So it sounds like they have no idea when it's actually arriving, but at some point they will probably have it again.
