  1. That's apparently yet another occupation reserved for Thais.
  2. I think the real "culture" question here is why YOU stay and serve as your landlords bathmat. Don't post your woes on the intertubes hoping for "understanding" -- MOVE.
  3. Why not keep him on the ballot and let, you know, the people decide? Do you want the election to depend on who can hire the best lawfare practitioners? What do you have against democracy?
  4. Will I need a work permit to do this as a foreigner to provide authenticity? Shirley, kicking women can't be a job reserved for Thai men!
  5. Why don't you offer them cold, hard baht to tell you their stories? If they're trapped and desperate, Shirley, they'll spill the beans.
  6. Don't they have an unused aircraft carrier in need of aircraft to carry?
  7. I'm sure they're only taking selfies at this location because all the best spots on the beaches where Indian tourists were robbed of gold chains by roving bands of hopped-up ladypersons are just thronged with massive crowds of outraged Thai netizens demanding justice. Sure, i could be wrong, but what are the odds?
  8. Methinks you're confusing fast/slow lanes with in/outbound lanes. Inbound lanes are heading into a city, outbound heading, well,....out. Typically double lanes separated by a median, with occasional marked U-turns. I read this as the truck had left a sugar cane collection point, thus loaded, was on the highway heading towards some city/township, and had gotten into the lane intending to U-turn, and head back away from the city/town to a sugar cane processing plant on the opposite side of the highway. I don't see where the article stated the truck driver moved suddenly from the low-speed inbound lane into the inbound passing lane, only that he was heading into the city, but needed to U-turn to head away from the city. It's the responsibility of a professional bus driver to drive the appropriate speed for the conditions, especially at night thru an agricultural area during harvest season.
  9. How could the bus driver miss an overloaded sugarcane truck ahead of him? From the report, there is no indication the truck moved suddenly into the path of the bus. Truck was in the left lane, slowing or possibly nearly stopped (unclear) to make a U-turn. Bus driver plowed into the truck from the rear. Driver already doing wrong:
  10. No thank you. I'll take my money and go someplace interesting.
  11. Probably an oversight. Something deemed to be "disinformation" was removed, then someone got distracted removing bickering posts and forgot to insert a notice.
  12. You thought correct - all good. Your non-O renewal is not a visa, it's an extension of stay based on your original non-O visa that has already expired. Your latest entry stamp was dated based on the expiration of the current non-O extension of stay. When you recently renewed your extension of stay, well, that extended your permission of stay, not your visa. Note the title of the form you submitted "APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY STAY IN THE KINGDOM"
  13. Lights. Get some white halogen daytime running lights to be visible. Maybe a red flashing LED bar wired into the brakes mounted on the rear fender.
  14. Mistake? I suspect he fell asleep whilst Facebooking. There's no excuse for rear-ending a massive slow-moving vehicle. The bis driver is 1000% at fault.
  15. Oh, noes!!!! They gonna make me wear a mask! Oh, the humanity!
  16. If you're concerned, just open a WISE account in your name. I don't believe immigration is concerned about who sent the money, only that it came from overseas. The bank letter you provide won't detail who sent it. It only confirms it was an international transfer deposited into your account.
  17. Do you know how to get the proper documentation if the WISE transfer is not coded as an international transfer? SWIFT transfer will have the correct coding. With larger transfers, the WISE fees increase bigly. Maybe calculate the cost of both methods to see which is a better deal. Consider transfer fees, correspondent bank fees, and exchange rates.
  18. I did both at the same time, each taking twenty minutes. Yellow book was free, pink ID 60 baht.
  19. How well do you understand spoken Thai? Perhaps you misunderstood? They may have been making small talk, mentioning "We sa you Lotus moo wan!"
  20. C'mon, man! They can be super useful! The land office just typed up a lifetime usufruct on the back of our house chanote without asking to see my passport. Handed them a half dozen photocopies, but they only asked to see the pink ID card for the name spelling.
  21. Go to the online site and request a list of all transactions for that account over the past 5 or 10 days and note the balance available after each. Prolly a processing bug. Likely had the 31K deposit added immediately as available balance, which then reverted to a pending deposit after the overnight update. That's assuming the 31K you received is not available for spending immediately.
